  3. hmm, also on my local windows server, putting flaggerposition.dll in bin and flaggerposition:flaggerposition in modules.conf crashes the zone

  10. me and my buddy are making a pretty cool zone and it should be one of them zones that stick arround forever, we need a bot or a module, preferably module. Specs: Zone is a huge 'running' map with small bases scattered around it and warpradiuslimit set to 1024. Obviously, all ships have fairly high speeds, but well balanced, you should all check it out . Anyways there are only 3 carriable flags. I want this to be sort of a super rabbit zone. So when the bot notices a player picked up a flag, he should be sent to the flagger freq with the other two flaggers. Flaggers have: GunUpgrade, BombUpgrade, 0 FireCostPercent, 1500 DamagePercent (they take more damage), 1000 SpeedAdjustment, 500 ThrustAdjustment, 0 DropDelay. Of coarse, we need the gameplay to be adjusted VIA .txt Such as: [Freq Manager] (do i put this flagger on flaggerfreq) Flagger1= Flagger2= 1/2 Yes/No Flagger3= ^^ This allows us to make one flagger an enemy of the other two teamed up flaggers. Or to eliminate flagger teaming. When the flagger gets killed the flag is already transfered to the killer. The bot should notice he has the flag now and make the switch. Simple bot, eh? Any Takers?
  11. Well you can't warp from inside a base, or from the hypertunnels. Just outside of a base and in center. Note: If you enter tw with flags, it should explode you. At least if you enter with 20. Other than the ability to take flags through tw, it's fine. The most you can do is get a good rec, and who cares if someone gets a good rec? The only problem is flags, its lame to chase a flagger and when hes about to die he warps to tw. I know flags in tw is illegal, but i dont think anyone respects the rules unless they get blown up.

  14. Yea, personally, I think ?give should be taken away completely. And it doesn't really make reset too much sooner, maybe a day or two. I never gave more than 100k to an average player.
  15. Lets look at this thing with common sense. Your post was about too much money being granted for bases, and the recieving players ability to abuse that money. Do you realize how much of that 20 million I put into the economy? Not put back, put in-to the economy. Money from the sky. The more money Dr Brain gives me, the more I give to players. I gave you money Sention, along with countless others, I have 600k left. Do all the prized devvers team up on ^pwnage and own everyone? No. Do they cobalt when theres a packed base? No. (ok sometimes) Do they play actively? No. Would you like to be playing in 7 bases made by a drunk? No... Would you rather get rid of the cool graphics and half the items in the ?buy list? No! The most handy thing about an absurd amount of money is the ability to buy/sell without worry. While the most rewarding things about the entire situation, and the words to sum this thread to a conclusion: 1: You get new bases to play in, graphics to please your eyes, and items to have loads of fun with. 2: Money from the sky put into the economy.

  17. I find it appealing that Hyperpsace is the only zone that appreciates a developers efforts. I've helped countless zones, most of which were very ungrateful.

  19. I agree that it should all be done for free, and in reality, it is. I don't know a single programmer for Hyperspace that plays the zone enough to make even 10k. So why should they have to put in -another- 10 hours to get a decent ship upgrade? They shouldn't. Also, the !@#$%^&*umption that 10m or even unlimited money can be abused in an abusive manner is nonsense. You can only brick/field like a noob but I only know one person who does that, and he should probably stop that. All ships maxed, isn't godly at all. All my ships are maxed and I still get owned. It's simple, really. When HS needs developments, and does not show any sort of incentive, there are very few contributers. On the other hand, when everyone finds out they can get 10m for a base, well, theres dozens of bases. Agreed, ten million is a little absurd, but theres only so much you can do with it, without exp, which is not granted to anyone.

    What is this thread about? Sharpflame 'abusing' and me doing the tw turret thing? I'm a man with dignity, so I will explain myself. It was fun. I turreted a whole pub freq and made some noobs money. The minute Dr Brain come on I said "hey we have to nerf this ?tw with turret thing". And that's it.. I made a few more tw turret trips today because I know it's being nerfed anyday now and I'll never be able to do it again. It was fun. As for Sharpy, well he'll have to explian himself Oh god.. Were you even paying attention to that game? One freq had the overwhelming advantage, in any base. The team was just better, had more skilled players while the other team had noobs. Mods were prizing the attackers SHIELDS, that's about 30 seconds of invincibility and they STILL couldn't reach the flagroom. We were just having fun. It's a known fact to HS veterans that the zone is unbalanced when theres too many people. I'm sure Dr Brain knows this too as he said it to me before. ("more population is not my goal, the zone is not stable enough") So we had 25vs25 in one of SF's crampt bases... Attacking team was being owned at entrance for about an hour so.. why not a thor storm? Why not some super? Shields? STILL NOT GETTING IN? More thorstorms, lets have fun, things are unbalanced, lets just have fun. Lots of people had fun. It would have been much more abusive allowing the defending team to rape the attacking team for a few hours. Not to mention a spoiled late afternoon. MGS, what is the real issue? From what I see, staff abuse is non-existant.
