  1. It just needs a good GUI.
  2. Players should be able to customly create their own sublight drives and reactors. This would be very interesting. Maybe some sort of web-based application that links to the zone. Providing categories of ship settings. Every time the player, for example if the player increases the value of InitialRecharge and MaxRecharge, then a green bar at the bottom of the page will move down, OR, just a green box indicating the Sublight. Another green bar for Reactor, ect. Cerium I am sure you can come up with a good forumula/solution to allow players to build their ships from scratch. Once they 'Save' their items on the site, it moves into their inventory, from which you can actually sell your own work.
  3. Yea, that should be on the public post, although we do keep track of who does what.
  4. Patience is a virtue.
  5. Yawn..
  6. as for the world turning upside down this is not true but there will be a polarity reversal causing an out of body experience for all of mankind, it is unknown if the reversal will resonate for the next 2000 years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geomagnetic_reversal Astronomical ages, they last 2000 odd years. Not suprising the Mayans end their calendar 2012. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_Aquarius We are in the age of the pisces, and are moving into the age of aquarius. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012 Really, 2012 is like THE YEAR that so many things that have been waiting to happen, happen. Not to mention a truly significant year for astrologer/astronomers.
  7. It ends on 2012 yes, this is strange. I heard theories about 'time coming to singularity'. Maybe this is why, but I also had laid my eyes onto a piece of Mayan scripture which stated that there will be an asteroid in 2012.
  8. have you been to England this year? over here the winter has been warmer and the summer colder then normal. Why is it some dooms day theories get more people believing them then others? The world was supposed to end in 1998, 2000, 2002.... I've heard one for years saying that the planet will explode in 2007. So if we listen to all of these the world will end every single year until it actually happens in a few billion years... Yes, but this number (2012) is based on the Mayan calender, for the most part, the same calendar we use in most of the world. 2000, 2002, 2007, show no significance, this does.
  9. I setup a simple forum (YaBB), some type of wiki or CMS would be much better though, but here is a place to start. http://ssdev.hlrse.net/yabb/YaBB.pl
  10. Okay, as you probably already know, Hyperspace is based on items. Each ship comes equipped with a very weak set of items (in fact, only bullets). The object for new players is to use those bullets to kill powerful ships, gain a descent amount of money (20k), and start upgrading. We don't want you to waste your hard-earned 20k on items that you are not sure of, so here are a few tips, and some example ?shipstatus's (list of items on a certain ship) for you to base your purchases on, and random, but helpful tips on performing well in Hyperspace. Sublight Drives: Make you go faster. I like to think that Sub'light' Drives make my ship 'lighter'. Reactor Plants: Improve your energy and recharge rates. Warbird: FIXME Javelin: My center/dueling ship of choice. The ship status below is very high in speed, and somewhat high in thrust but noticeably hard on steering. It is used as a 'fly-by' attacker, and, as lame as it sounds, a runner. All of it's stats are pushed towards speed and maneuverability, meaning there are no items such as repels and burst, but a good dueler can make great use of this ship and these settings. | Extra rotation (Utility) | Extra thrust (2) (Utility) | Extra speed (Utility) | Maneuvering Fins (Armor) | Shrap Booster (Gun) | Falcon Missile (Bomb) | IceFire (Sublight Drives) | ID Drives (FTL) | Compression Core (Reactor) | Extra Utility (Computer/Sensor, Converter, -2 Utility) | Energy Scanner (Computer/Sensor) | Field Launcher (Alien Tech) | Needler Ammo (Field Ammo) Spider: (gunner) | Extra Rotation (Utility) | Close Combat (2) (Utility) | TW Token (3) | Pulse Laser (Gun) | HE Missile (Bomb) | Nuclear Booster (Sublight Drives) | Mezon Capacitor (Reactor) | Enhanced Sensors (Computer/Sensor) | Energy Scanner (Computer/Sensor) | Energy Infusion (2 Brick) | Shock Matrix (Armor) Note: For a stronger center spider, replace Pulse Laser with Disruptor. Also, some prefer Active Camo in place of Extra Rotation. Some people prefer String of Pearls or Space Mines in place of HE Missile which I personally prefer (HE missile is more flexible, allowing both bombs to be fired and mines to be laid). It all depends on your fighting style. Note: For a stronger basing spider, replace Extra Rotation with Gravity Trap. (Or, if you have a ton of $$$, ditch the Energy Scanner - unimportant for basing - buy a converter, and then you have an extra utility spot where you can have Gravity Trap without ditching the Extra Rotation. I don't recommend this since I think that amount of $$$ can be better spent, and I do like my Energy Scanner, but hey, if you got $$$ to burn, don't let me stop you!) And replace Shock Matrix with Solid Nutronium which is stronger armor - it'll slow you down, but you don't exactly need great speed in a base. Note: These are items for a "basically good all-around" spider; if you have lots of $$$ to burn, buy a field launcher and your choice of field (for a spider which is a relatively slow-moving and large ship, I recommend searing heat for ammo). You can also buy ID drives for FTL, antideath (AD) if you want it, and heck, even a TW pass Note: Some items which are bad for spider: Never get Plasma Cannon. Just don't. Pulse Laser and Disruptor are the two weapons which are good for spiders. If you wish to become suicidal and/or annoying, you can always get Shredder... And Siege Pack is bad for spider. You can't fire those thors fast enough to do any good, and your bursts won't be powerful enough to do more than tickle really. And it eats up a precious utility spot that you could use for more useful stuff like a second Close Combat or a Gravity Trap or Active Camo. Hmm, what else - oh! Don't bother getting Brick Attack; the Brick Attack Fields it launches are too small and your spider is too slow to use them effectively. Get Energy Infusion instead - trust me. Also, don't get Phaser. It's basically a downgraded version of Disruptor, and the difference is only $15k. So if you want a weapon like that, just invest a bit more and get that Disruptor. Leviathan: My base/flagging ship of choice. It is a great rusher because it has a large amount of energy. The trick/routine is to get as close to the enemy/as deep in the base as possible without being in closebombing (the point where your own bombs do damage to you), and thor the enemies you are about to approach. Now don't be weary, the levi can take a lot of damage, continue into the base, through the enemies until you are almost dead, and hit F4 (Energy Infusion) Viola! Full energy again. Now burst. All of your bursts should be gone, and you will likely die, but progress was made, as your team is following your lead! | Tunnel Runner (Utility) | Nuclear Booster (Sublight Drives) | Close Combat (Utility) | Siege Pack (Utility) | Antideath (Alien Tech) | Extra Utility (Computer/Sensor, Converter, -2 Utility) | Energy Infusion (Brick) | Extended Sensors (Computer/Sensor) | ID Drives (FTL) | Shrap Booster (Gun) | Falcon Missile (Bomb) | Searing Heat (Field Ammo) Terrier: FIXME Weasel: FIXME Lancaster: FIXME Shark: FIXME Note: I do realize new players can not afford these items, but this is something to aim for. Note: Whoever think they have mastered other ships, please post the ?shipstatus and I will edit this post.
  11. I like the idea of "weight". Every item has weight to it, and purchasing an item will slow you down. But, Cerium, this is not a great idea for Hyperspace, rather a new zone, which could use a custom/edited build of HSCore which is public.
  12. Does not work with ASSS. Waiting on Grel?
  13. you are a great help to the community

  19. someone needs to install or code a management system, with a user login system, so we can login and upload to our personal portfolios, then also define a category and place for everything uploaded for the main file repository
