  1. i could use my custom saving style...but i don't suggest you do. no idea. i was actually thinking that they don't make the map with the dev-tools, but just load it. yeh i think the dev-tools will be useful as well. it will make it easier to change settings and such in a zone. oh and for ships, i had an idea that the zone owner had a folder named /ships/ where they save all the ship files they made for the zone. then on runtime they all get loaded to be used. same idea could be used for other things, such as weapons, abilities, maps.
  2. is there something wrong with my svn then? i haven't noticed any changes in a long time...
  3. eachteam has x points, say 100. each time a player dies, his team loses a point. there is also a "drainer" that you try to maintain to drain the other team's points. i'm hoping the map will be a giant base. i'm hoping it will also be a major team event, meaning a team moves as a group and killing/playin as a group. i'm working on a module to support this idea right now. ALSO, all graphics and sounds will be original. i hate big downloads because of zones trying to make a non-space theme. however there may be some custom bongs and graphics for the drainer and game information.
  4. well i've coded a basic concept/gameplay for a zone that is almost ready to go. the only problem is i don't go into the actual ss game(quit), and i need to be able to in order to have a zone. i also need someone to do graphics and zone settings, and mapping (i'm not very good). if you're interested just pm me or reply here. p.s. i won't accept just anyone. you must be experienced enough and be responsible.
  5. this whole project has slowed down a ton...is everyone busy or just lazy lately?
  6. i should

  8. version 2.0? maybe it's currupt?
  9. the map is white....and for me the map moves super slow (fps of 9). i need a new graphics card...more memory....i'll stop here.
  10. Ok..lets see i !@#$%^&*umed before that you have the .net framework version 2.0 installed...make sure that !@#$%^&*umption is correct.
  11. ok...let me think i've never tested it on vista so that could be the problem. make sure the executable and .dll's that came with it are in the same location when u start it. that's really all i can think of..sorry. i'm not very good about os troubleshooting.
  12. 1. I'm not done at all, just have the foundations of creating, editing, and removing items. 2. Local teams + my family is big in hockey locally. 3. Fans can use it as well. 4. I doublt the NHL will use it as well. 5. All the buttons will work when i'm finished. 6. As for a file, i need a file that will store info better i agree. I need something to store strings, int, bitmaps (right now i load a file with a path that is saved), and maybe songs that players like to play after a goal? You can also check it out on sourcefourge..here
  13. Let me know what you think. A good program should not be hard to use/understand, thus i will not tell you how to use it. All i will say is it's purpose-to assist a hockey team manager to manage statistics, names, contacts, finances, scheduling, etc. Can also be used by fans. If you have ANY comments tell me. I WANT constructive criticism. P.S. Ignore the scrolling text. Digital_Hockey.zip

  17. to tape a vacation for example.
  18. i know cancer...i'm tring really. It's just my mind limits me because i only think of things that i know how to program. But if you want me thinking outside of continuum... I would like to see more of a ... build up your inventory type game than a pure physics game. And i want to beable to get out of your ship to go and turret with someone...stores.... It'd be a roleplaying game that doesn't save. Speaking of roleplaying..we should make a career mode type feature...where it's you vs. bots in a continuus game with levels, a storyline, and save option. Oh and make your ship hovering over land ... not in space. With this you coul also make your ship go over ramps and ontop of places. There's my thinking ouside the 3d square.
  19. what i'm saying is to add buttons and clickable's to only the necesary items...for example(again) you don't want to make a button just to switch to private chat, make that a "/" before typing. But for creating a squad, display a form with squad name and password text boxes (we would do this because ?squadcreate name:password is a little bit...confusing to some newbs and it would look better in a more organized matter).
  20. i suppose. here's what i think: an example for when a command would be good: talking(/, ", private, team) to specific people(s). an example for buttons/clicks: viewing available arenas to go to. its hard to explain...but simple things should be commands and complex ideas should come with buttons and displayed areas (windows).

  22. I dunno....that's why i'm asking. 2 minds are greater than 1.
  23. what about an aim chatroom
