Look back for as long as you've played ss - what zones were you most closely associated with? What would other people say you were most associated with in the past? My takes: Now: Desert Storm Others would say: Omega Fire or HS Influenced: EG, OF, Crucial, and HS

Neat summary of your history. I joined in 1995 - played. Played when Polix quit. Then he came back. And quit again. For good that time. And then he came back. Then quit. And...I think he came back that time. That was in 02. Since then, I think he quit and came back more often then the number of times HS crashed! (i hear it coming...) Anyway, so I still play. Striking that I find you talking about me. Not all HS sysops are terrible people. Distort made an effort to speak with me about HS and this rectified a lot of things, so kudos to him for making things right. However, most people on ss won't do that - especially you. You're more interested in trying to prove you're right than anything else. You'll spin, twist, and basically say anything you can to try to make yourself look good. You haven't figured out that this is how people see you. Sadly, all the work you put into HS turns to total shit. Not because you programmed it wrong - actually I think your ideas have worked well for the zone - but the way you come across buries any chance of gaining respect. If you'd just shut up for a while and hear people out rather than thinking everything is a personal attack on you, you'll get further ahead. I get to thinking that you've been personally trained by Dick Cheney.

Lynx - my point being this - it's easy to find holes in the notion that 2d is a hard medium for gaming, but stating it like you did emphasizing that we would simply overcome the 2D game barrier as if it does not exist makes us wonder what successes you've had. Beyond just a great idea is the need for total graphics support, total code support, and well - more support than the game has in its current state. We all hope that a great zone will arise from discretion, but it ain't easy. Sorry for busting your chops.

No player will care about new features in as3, subgame, or discretion if we cannot figure out a new game play style that fits with those new features. Right now 2D games only offer so much...

When an acronym begins with a, e, f, h, i, m, n, o, r, s, x, or/ the indefinite article "an" is used. The acronym "DC" in "DC current" is used as a modifier and therefore it should be both capitalized and used as if it were an adjective to the subject noun "current". Saying "An DC current" is wrong as it can be "A or The" only. Now, you should go into discretion wars and tell me if you like my tileset so far. hehe

When you say "connect to an ASSS server" you're making some fool's witty acronym the adjective of a subject noun - therefore grammatically ok. If you prefer to make it the subject, you can simply say "I'm going to connect to an ASSS" - also correct, despite many wisecrack jokes your friends will make. Good day.
