  1. Well, to be fair, it looks like I haven't even payed attention to my own suggestions But if you want me to upload your Halloween map, you actually have to post up the final result, or make it clear that your last update in the other thread 15 days ago wasn't just a progress update.
  2. Ahoy there
  3. It's a debugging message; you can safely ignore it.
  4. I assume you're doing this over SSH, in which case you should use the Secure Shell File Transfer Client, which has a basic graphical interface so that you can see the files in your directory and run the command line from the current folder, as opposed to having to type 'ls' and 'cd' all the time. If you're purely using the command line, then type 'ls' to see what's in your current directory. Assuming the folder 'subspace' is there, you should simply be able to type 'cd subspace' (without slashes), then 'cd server', and then 'cd asss-1.5.0'. Assuming it's already been compiled, you can run asss directly by typing 'bin/asss' (or, well it looks like SSL's files are in a different directory, so you'll need to type './scripts/run-asss').
  5. Uh oh. Well then I guess it's probably not the best time to admit that I hadn't ever compiled asss until like, maybe half a year ago? And I've toyed with it since like 2005 or 2006ish -.-
  6. You're probably gonna have a hard time finding people to make new bases. Just grab some of the old ones. Also, JDS' map had a pumpkin lvz for the center, but I'm not sure if I have it.
  7. It was nothing grand, but here.devahallo.lvl
  8. I don't really think there was a halloween tileset per se, mostly just a few edited tiles here and there. I've attached last year's map for reference.devaween.lvl
  9. Contrary to everyone here regurgitating material they don't even half understand, I think you're far better off not making your game compatible with SubSpace. This way you won't be smashing your head on a brick wall trying to figure everything out, so you'll spend more time on what actually counts.
  10. The specificity of the event plugins you're looking for leads me to believe that this super-secret zone is the same one as your forum Home Zone. Am I off?
  11. Deva's alive and healthy. But you gotta go on at tm hours to catch the drift of a game. Though lately tm & all have been obsessed with basedueling rather than classic flagging.
  12. To whoever maintains it, can you remove all references to subspacedownloads.com? Under the Do You Have What It Takes? for example, you should be using getcontinuum's primary download link, not a mirror. Same thing under the Screenshots section. Anything that's not hosted locally on the website should be labelled a mirror and removed it if doesn't actually work. There's also quite a few dead links in the Related Sites and Leagues link section.
  13. upboated
  14. I assume the last login date/time plays a role. And I'd also be surprised if the biller deleted players who have powers on the biller.
  15. Not all zones are connected to the same user database server (aka biller), as such, your username, password, and other personal information aren't carried over. The prefix SSC in the zone name typically denotes zones that are connected to the central biller. It should also be noted that if your username exceeds 18 characters and you play in a zone that uses the Subgame server, your name will get trimmed down to 18 characters in an ASSS zone, which will prompt a new registration form. Similarly, if your username in your Continuum profile exceeds 18 characters and you normally play in an ASSS zone, when you switch over to a Subgame zone, you'll be prompted a registration form since Subgame accepts up to 23 characters. Player names don't get reset on the SSC biller unless they've been inactive over a certain period of time (depends on your usage).
  16. I tried to create a page... It ended up creating an 'undefined' page instead: undefined Collapse Edit Delete Print Close undefined I then tried to edit it, it wouldn't save. I could preview it, but I couldn't delete it. I tried to create a task, same problem. I tried to upload a file, my file never had an ID. It was never uploaded. I could, however, edit and save the page already created (the one that says "Only the owner of a page c..."). Clicking on stuff like messages* doesn't really bring you to the bottom. As in, it goes to the bottom, then twitches right back to the spot it was in previously. (*This only affects the top menu. The bottom menu seems to work fine.) EDIT: Also, forcefully limiting what browsers are allowed to access the entire website won't get you very far. Let the browser handle or mishandle the content. Are you [your friend] that bad of a programmer that you'd let through security holes that can be exploited in other browsers? If so, I hope you know that anyone can change their UserAgent string on the fly.
  17. Go read my post after that NR. I'm not taking your pity. :/
  18. Yes it is. You can obtain the source for Mervbot 46 or Mervbot 48 (the two latest versions) over at http://mervbot.com/. Note that the main difference between the two is that SOS' version (48) includes modifications so that you can also write and run plugins written in .NET languages such as C#, though you'll have to compile it from scratch since it doesn't include a compiled release (build 46 does). For writing plugins in C++, you can check out the tutorials over at the Wiki: http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/MERVBot_Tutorial And if you have any specific bot-related questions or if you're looking for answers, check out the Server Help Forums: http://forums.minegoboom.com/
  19. 'Never' was probably not the best choice of words, but face it, Star Warzone, along with SVS Jackpot for that matter, hasn't had any population since it was ever revived years ago. It's been sitting around, dare I say, neglected. And hence my disagreement with the practice of leaving so many bots in a virtually unmaintained zone. And no, it wasn't before my time, but nice try. I was actually a regular long ago under a much different alias than I use today. Whether it's on the SSC server or not means very little to me. It's great that the zone is a hobby of yours, but there's really no reason in having 5 bots sitting in there 24/7. And while to you reporting accurate numbers may not be important, it is to others. If we eliminate the number of bots present in all zones, our overall population level is lower than it was in 2000 (a reference point to the oldest population records), which says a lot about the state of the game. And if the name Cosmic Rift means anything to you, that's precisely where this game is headed. So you can't say that population isn't important. It's been quite a few years that the population level has been steadily declining; it's time for people to stop brushing it off as if nothing were.
  20. It pisses me off too, especially when zones which have never had population and likely will never have any, such as Jackpot SVS, Command & Conquer, Star Warzone, all try to boost their player count by filling the zones with bots. When it comes to major zones having nearly 50 bots sitting around, that's just sad.
  21. Ice cream truck music?
  22. 1 word per minute. 75 errors. I win.
  23. Actually L.C., you're quite off the mark. I actually have no problems with a single person running the biller. But I do have a problem when that person will and has already repeated the exact same thing Priit did, which was basically dev for a bit, acquire as much power as they could in a short time, and then run off leaving everything unmaintainable and inaccessible. This is basically the exact same principle which has haunted Continuum for years now.
  24. Well, sure you can switch billers, but you can also enjoy the loneliness. Reality is, Priit hosts most major zones. And I'm certainly not keen on switching to a second biller maintained by someone who practices the exact same philosophy as the first.
  25. How is that even relevant?
