  1. If your zone and biller are working correctly and you can connect to them from the same computer, you have nothing else to change in their settings. For others to connect, you need to access your internet router's settings.
  2. For others to be able to connect, you'll need to enable port forwarding (for your zone's port & zone port +1) in your internet router's configurations.
  3. Windows DEP used to be one of the primary causes behind Continuum not loading (the point of DEP is to prevent a program from executing code from a non-executable memory). Part of the issue was fixed when Priit made a few updates to 0.40 back a few years ago, but it's not impossible for the problem to persist on some systems, in the same way that the issue didn't originally affect everyone. Antiviruses are usually a little more vocal about blocking strange applications unless you've explicitely disabled notifications. (Though, that doesn't mean it couldn't be the cause.)
  4. You may want to check out: http://www.subspace.co/tutorials/article/3-why-will-continuum-not-load-for-me/ It may be related to Windows DEP (see the last point at the very bottom).
  5. How long are you waiting? Does the screen completely vanish after you click connect? Any error messages?
  6. The last point in that FAQ may help: It may also be possible that your computer has Data Execution Program (DEP) enabled for all programs. For Windows XP, right click on “My Computer” and follow “Properties > Advanced > Performance Settings > Data Execution Prevention” Once you have opened DEP, see if you have 'Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only', if so, check 'Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select'. Next add Continuum.exe to the list, and apply. Then you can go back to 'Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only' if you'd like, and it will load fine. For Vista and Windows 7, go into “Start > Computer > System Properties (button under the link bar) > Advanced System Settings (on the left navigation menu) > Performance (click settings)”. Now move over to the one that says “Data Execution Program”, and add Continuum to the list.
  7. The zone is actually down at the moment and we're working on getting it back up as soon as possible. tm_master is still active as always though.
  8. I accidentally did the same thing the other day, logged into EG thinking it had some 130 players, only to go in and find out it had 0 players and 40 bots.
  9. I agree with ZiGNoTZaG, you'll get a lot of shit from all sorts of people when managing a zone, even from former members who no longer contribute anything; it's not exactly fun. But you always have to remember that there are people who enjoy it and enjoy your contributions, they just won't always tell you. Sucks to see MG disappear once again.
  10. It wasn't so much for security, but rather because I find that people who open source and use repositories tend to discourage themselves and give up developping a lot quicker.
  11. Can I do the reverse and request you keep it closed source? (At least, unless you're abandoning your project)
  12. To report a false positive, just send an email to virus@avg.com and indicate where the file can be obtained and any other relevent detail. Continuum often gets marked as malware, but it's almost always a false positive. I do know that AVG has recently updated something causing it to wrongly identify Continuum, so you shouldn't be alarmed.
  13. Continuum might still be running in the background, so you'll have to kill the process using Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Try again and see if it works, or check out the other possibilities in the link I left.

  15. You do realize Powerball runs on an ASSS server, right? This means that they've actually gone out of their way to inflate the population to match the side-effects of the other zones. PB only has 4 or 5 people in its zone, it's reporting 118. That's what, a 2300% to 3000% increase? As much as I hate Hyperspace for also choosing to do this, someone did flat out admit in the last thread that PB had done this to give the zone a competitive edge. This pretty much indicates that arena sharing wasn't done for the sake of adding functionality, but rather to unnaturally inflate the population count, compete with Trench Wars (which also inflates population with bots), and use the feature inclusion as an excuse. Hyperspace has demonstrated that the tactic works. And pretty much everyone in the last thread was dead-set against arena sharing, especially with the population inflation and skewing. No one has demonstrated that the feature brings anything to the game. Hyperspace did state it would stop if other zones did, but so far, only DSB has chosen to resolve the issue on their end.
  16. If you're using ASSS, have you at least made sure to load the directory module? It might be commented out in the modules.conf file.

    SSCA Down?

    Presumably, temporary.

  19. I don't think Mage+ specifically gave ships portals, it's more like the race settings were never imported, since he never really intended on finishing that map. And since the settings weren't touched, you could also kill other players, which kind of defeats the purpose of a race. But yeah, you're right, the module doesn't shipreset, since I had never really imagined a situation of using it in arenas with other settings.
  20. Snrrrub never had the intention of actually helping. His purpose was merely to show off. He's always been free to do whatever he wants.
  21. Done. Perhaps I should start keeping track of those who are cheating their way to the finish line...
  22. There is no correlation between server and population decline. The fact that it died, like so many other zones, is due to inactive development and failure to promote the zone. ASSS does offer some advantages, certainly, but it won't boost population by itself. The learning curve is also quite heavy, so this would stall development more than anything. However, it should be noted that bots can be configured to run on ASSS, so you could benefit from both worlds.
  23. All race-type arenas can have records recorded, as long as: 1) The map has defined regions. Namely, the finish line (conveniently named "finish"), and the prize points if any (named "rocket"). 2) The spawning point is at the start of the race, and surrounded by doors. 3) The race module is attached to the arena Mage+ would have to modify his arena on points 1 & 2.
  24. Correct.
  25. The offending records have been removed.
