  2. Start > Computer > System Properties (button under the link bar) > Advanced System Settings (on the left navigation menu) > Performance (click settings) Now move over to the one that says "Data Execution Program", and add Continuum to the list. DEP will block Continuum from running if you didn't install it properly, moved it from its original install, or didn't install it in a proper location (program files). And yes, DEP is also found on Windows Vista. Try running your game afterwards. Hope this helps.
  3. I don't believe that there's only one answer to homosexuality. Some may claim it's in the genes, testosterone, or caused by environmental or parental factors, others may say it's a choice or it's hard-wired in the brain. What if there was no true answer? Besides reproduction, what proof do you have that being straight is not a choice? There's many studies, but no one's really going to find an answer. Scientists have been able to manipulate the sexual mentality of certain animals such as rats, or even the sexual nature of worms (recently featured in Times Online) by altering a gene. However, some animals do perform homosexual behaviour (some species of monkeys are known for all sorts of sexual behaviour, whether straight or homosexual, and whether done just for pleasure or not). I thought that this video (and Part 2) by 60 minutes describes some of the complexity of homosexuality pretty well. It explains concept such as the younger brother tendancy to have more chances of being gay, or identical twins which are the opposite in sexual and mental behaviour since they were able to talk practically.
  4. Fires in North America have been deliberately set for thousands of years in North America; if you stop having controlled fires, then you're bound to have a huge out-of-control one later on. It's even worse for areas, such as in deciduous forest, where there's a lot of peat. Even when a fire's been put out, it's most likely still burning/smouldering underground, just to re-emerge up to a century later and cause more havoc.

64$ definitely beats outrageous prices; but can you use the activation code more than once?
  7. I'm curious to know what it said before you edited it, ps, wb Mage

  9. Rootbear's original thread that was stickied got whiped out, because it was deemed useless once 0.40 came out (and because mods are too stupid to unsticky a sticky). It basically said to right click on the file or folder, select "properties", and move over to the "Security" tab. Change your settings through that. My original post, with full explanation about displacement of files, folders, permissions and UAC: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?s=&sh...st&p=183306 I'm not suggesting this is related to Maurauth's problem though, which is most likely related to a conflict in file-folder permissions. Still, might be of interest to attempt disabling the UAC and try redownloading.
  10. UAC Disable; or suffer. I strongly recommend disable, unless you prefer badly made security over being able to use a miriad of other programs properly, including Continuum.

  12. Old news... it ends up like this "all the arctic nations reject any claims made by Russia bla bla bla" and laugh at Russia for trying. More important news related to the arctic sheet's rapid retreat is "Canadian Internal Waters" aka "The NorthWest passage".
  13. Not really, because it comes from AS^3 = A x S x S x S = ASSS. A3S = A x 3 x S. (You'd think A(S + S + S), but it doesn't make sense to be written as A3S, because then it ends up at AS + AS + AS) But I use it because it's easier to say instead of being repetetive, or sounds like !@#$%^&* (SOS's pun).
  14. If you notice, the person resolved his issue himself. He was posting here to inform others of his findings, and how he fixed his problem. This topic is going off track, and needless to add more (to mod, please lock)
  15. I don't know which is worse, Roobear's deleted post, or those smilies...
  16. Wow, I got a mention... But I'll be sad to see you go, but yeah, definitely go for real life over SubSpace. And when you do come back, remember that I said hi.

  18. But no one's found the definite solution (to the hourgl!@#$%^&* issue), so what to do? :/
  19. Don't be so harsh... Make sure you're installing Continuum 0.40 Check for spyware, and/or make sure you don't have a firewall or antivirus conflicting with Continuum (as in blocked) Then read this FAQ: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=13180 And then read this topic: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=17467 Read all the posts and look for something that might apply to you. Alternatively, you can use the search function at the top-right of this forum, or post some information about your computer so we can actually help you help yourself.
  20. lol But sure Hallowed, that would be great. I don't know how good a student I am though
  21. I thought you were doing it JDS?
  22. If you're concerned, why don't you just write a formal mail to them and inquire/inform yourself about the company, the job, the exact work involved, and payment method. A real person vs. a generated application and a website, your pick.
  23. I have a better solution, (or rather, a mul!@#$%^&*ude of suggestions) 1. Open up the task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) and check to see if Continuum or the install are floating around in there, if so kill the process. -If this does work, change your theme to the default Windows theme, reboot your computer, and try installing again. If it doesn't, proceed to #2. 2. Change your theme to the default Windows theme, reboot your computer into SAFE mode (optionally with networking). Try installing Continuum. -If this doesn't work, proceed to #3. 3. There may be a conflict with running programs, anti-viruses, firewall, or an actual virus. Try performing an anti-virus scan, remove the problems, and then run a registry cleaner and do the same. Then disable all firewalls available (including Windows XP's built-in firewall). Load the installer. - You can optionally try and reinstall the Continuum installer in a different location / folder. - If this doesn't work, proceed to #4. 4. If else fails, then I suggest this: You can alternatively download a previous installation of Continuum (0.39pr1), then download and add these files in the same folder.
  24. Way to ruin it
