Continuum hangs for a few minutes when entering a zone
Hakaku replied to a topic in Technical Support
It sounds a lot like Roobear's problem described in another thread. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Continuum? (and make sure it's Continuum 0.40) Do you have UAC turned on or off? And does Continuum have administrator permission to run? If you ran Continuum under compatibility mode (right+click, properties, compatability, [select Windows XP]), does it still affect? - And while on the same tab, select "disable desktop composition". You may have answered these before, but it's good to know for future reference. The only other thing I can think of, is for you to make sure Continuum is running in the same resolution as your desktop, and in 32Bit colors (find in Continuum's options). - Or you could also try selecting "software emulation" in your advanced options, and change Continuum's skin to something else in the menu. -
Nah, We got hit by 10 cm of snow last Thursday, then 15 more cm of snow on friday. After that it slightly melted away, but started snowing again tonight. I hope it snows a lot by tomorrow (snow days rock). Last year though, we hadn't much snow and it didn't hit until late January. Made Christmas weird.

ew wtf it works now. Though hasn't for the past year I've checked.

Isn't that why there's a time limit on items? And since when did bricks ruin a game? If you made them greenable like they used to be (more or less easily), then both teams could acquire bricks, and it would be fair play. Brick wars never got complaints against before, so I don't see why a time-limit-buyable of bricks is more horrid than before. On the other hand, I can never get over 30mil because of your stupid credits system. since slightly over 30mil = a gadjillion tax reduction = Hakaku = poor. If you don't use the tax for anything, then all you do is make the rich richer, the poor poorer. Think, as a Canadian we don't have a 15% tax for no apparent reason. For some reason I agree with a lot (if not everything) of what Pirateship wrote, since it's very similar (if not exactly what I predicted) to what I wrote/complained before when the idea was proposed. You guys worry too much about trying to make the game fun for everyone. Hyperspace is a well designed zone if not more popular than Deva. Its balance between new players and strong players is horrid, but people still like the game. Why should we purposely design a system that forces weak players to remain weak? It's hard enough flagging for 1-7 hours and raising jackpot, but it's just a huge downer when someone else who's been there 5 minutes comes in a wins the jackpot. Or someone like tm (and X is guilty too) decides he'll win the jackpot for himself because he's leaving. And you just happen to always be against. As a mod, I'm going to say that I honestly couldn't care less for credits since I don't have any to use thanks to the new system, and lack of time. As a player though, the system is extremely flawed and bound to scare off more new players.

Someone should fix it, since http://www.getsubspace.com doesn't redirect like it used too. (all too easily predicted, which is why mine had getcontinuum.com on it.)

Continuum users are too friendly; we need to crush them bad. They're blatantly cheating by using proxies registering approximately 400 votes in the span of 2 hours (though I'm sure some of you have used proxies as well). - But this is a dog eat dog world, and our priority is winning the the vote this month for SubSpace/Continuum's 10th anniversary. A month later it might be another game, and no longer as special for us. So remember to vote.

Like I said before, if you don't post your specs, I can't help you. Some programs or firewalls may be causing Continuum to load improperly, especially if they don't recognize the new version of Continuum or simply conflict with it. http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic...0&hl=freeze http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic...2&hl=freeze Also, it may be related to your graphics or sound card: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic...9&hl=freeze

Apparently you guys gotta keep voting: 1 Runescape 1708 8.66% 2 Booty Master 1696 8.60% 3 Continuum 1672 8.48

Fancy, but the loading time sucks. Perhaps something simpler like this: TCL1mT0LXmohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCL1mT0LXmo And yes, youtube quality sucks.

Not necessarily if the bot doubles(+10%)/triples(+15%) the added tax to the next round (and then takes away only -5%). It's not the best idea, but what I was trying to get at was that you need to do something with the taxed credits you take away from players. (say, add it in a weekend or monthly event or something) I don't really enjoy the fact that I'll get taxed 25% of my credits all the time, especially when I barely make it over 30mil [this would leave me with 22,5mil credits after]. I can't play deva all the time, nor do I ever win the jackpot, so it's unjust for me. I don't like playing games that are 1-7 hours and raising jackpot just to lose, and then considering the amount of time spent, I need to do something else (homework, life...) afterwards. That's the biggest flaw, deva's flag games are too long. Winning a jackpot is the only way to make credits, other than the occasional event if you stay up at 2-4am EST. If I made more credits from killing people, then maybe it would be easier for those of us who have lives to make credits.
-
I think you need to do something with the credits which are taxed, like use it in a game, or you could add the taxed credits to the next round after the first is won. To explain: 1. Everyone plays, jackpot = 50mil 2. Everyone wins, 5% tax 3. (bot: jackpot rises twice as fast in the next 30 secs or w/e) 4. (bot adds that 5% [250 000] to next round) Maybe even double, or triple that tax if jackpot can get to a certain amount after a certain time.

If you multiclient (aka using run as), the second client cannot create files. It's been this way since forever. If you have restarting issues, then stop multiclienting. Otherwise, I'd recommend you reinstall Continuum completely, and see if the problem still occurs. Either your installation or another program is conflicting with Continuum and causing your computer to restart. But without specs, it's hard to help you any further.

than your mom oviously

I don't see why it would? It seems Rak'kar gave up on his game since the website went down and its forums were full of spam, and no users, and no posts by rak'kar himself. To add, there've been no updates on his game and the game server is down as well.

How many people are connected to your wireless? Does it have a network security key (or password)? What's your encryption type (if any - find this under network, right click on current one, properties)? And what's your internet connection (cable, dsl, etc.)? Asides, you may not be the only one who's had problems with that model (a similar one), concerning connection dropping, especially during high traffic hours, or using more than one computer at a time. - If you left you desktop computer off, would your laptop still receive as much lag? And have you always had this problem? It may be a problem with your wireless router configurations, in which I would recommend you contact Linksys' Tech Support, they may be able to provide more specific help.

Stop bumping the thread, you'll make yourselves look worse.

Skywize, that was by far the best post of this thread. With that said: MPOGD - GOTM POLL

I've not yet looked at HyperSpace's core, so it means nothing to me. Honestly though, despite it being a pretty crappy update, Continuum 0.40 is the number one development this year. The new updates prevent hackers from manipulating the game, which makes not only subgame zones, but moreso ASSS zones less vulnerable to attacks. That fact alone beats anything else, but we should also consider how much effort was put into trying to get that update done, even 4 years after Continuum's last update ; so it's worth the mention.

" .how to play " is broken... (and yes, I know .howtoplay works, but it's ugly comparatively) And even though I'll never use any of the gadjillion commands the bot has, kudos to the additions.

Still 900 more votes to go, 13 days left. We really should have started at the beginning of the month, not the middle.
-
Also, for those having a problem with the installer, please delete the file and redownload from here: http://www.trenchwars.org/downloads/Continuum040Setup.exe

I doubt it's possible (and Discretion isn't even close to having a graphical interface). Top that with copyright issues (considering Microsoft makes profit off online gameplay), and multiple crappy interface complications if trying to copy Continuum (e.g. all the ? shortcuts) - you end up with a useless game, which they might as well remake themselves.
