  1. Exactly. In other words, it's possible, but not plausible. I was basically trying to expand on Jabjabjab's idea, but pointing out how useless the chatroom idea would be. The *sendto command has potential, but not that much. The only true thing I could see it useful for is to send players across zones faster by having a bot with sysop powers, where players could message something like !tw and it would send you to SSCU Trench Wars. I would also assume it could force players to different arenas within the same zone using *sendto ,, (which could be useful for zones with small pop for sending new players to the arena where everyone is playing - however, I don't know what would happen if you tried to send them while they're still downloading the main map) Another option is for sending new players to a tutorial arena.
  2. Not quite what I meant (the sendto was a separate idea, where a single bot would send players to a single zone's arena); there would be a static bot placed in one given arena in each zone. The bot would relay what it reads in public messages, and send it to the next bot in another zone. If you pm'ed the bot directly and had the bot send the message to you, it would make a lot of flooding in private messages to a lot of players (which overtime may kill the bot from too many incoming/outgoing messages) The difference with ?chat is that you wouldn't have to join it and press that extra button ( ; ) to chat with people.

    POTM

I second XDOOM's suggestions, and the one that you should list the players who won below the current winner. So that it shows Gibbit in the main box, but below that you have <2007 - October - aeroplane jelly>. Like that we remember who's won, and not to pick them again (say, at least for a year, since only 12 people can win during that time). Edit: my post count is at 666 O.o
  4. I think he rather meant an arena in which any player could go into and type in public chat and it would be relayed to the same arena across different zones. Without having to join a ?chat. The advantage is you could talk to anyone in any participating zone. The problem is however, that's it's not possible unless you had a bot in each zone configured to relay player messages back and forth between bots of other zones. In the long run, it's just a waste of bandwidth since it's not the best solution. Where the *sendto command comes in would be that a bot relays players to a particular zone/arena without having to exit the current zone. I don't think it could ever catch on, except if it were destined for afk'ing players to afk elsewhere. (which could be useful in TW, since I believe Mr. Arrogant kicks afk players out in order to save bandwidth if I'm correct) - But as said, it'll never catch on.

    Gross, who made Gibbit POTM
  6. Here at least, it snowed a lot for the first time 2 weeks ago (15cm), and hasn't stopped snowing since really. Last thursday/friday were the worst, with like 50 cm of snow, and since it's not stopped snowing. They say another big round of snow is soon to arrive, but I don't care, I like snow.

    Mmm

Meh, I've gotten used to Vista, so it doesn't bother me at all. If you've used only XP for ages though, then you'll probably find the switch to Vista difficult, and frustrating.
  8. Was never there in the original poster... :/
  9. Since I don't see anyone else doing it, here's a tileset I toyed with. I'm too lazy to continue working on it, or checking to make sure everything works a-ok, so if anyone else wants to continue it...
  10. She was Canadian...
  11. lol masscarnage, that's like one of my customers last Friday threatening to sue me [my work] over an eggroll. I was refusing to refund her money over something she ate more than half of, and after she threatened me I basically told her she'd lose more money in the process of trying to sue, than me not giving her money back. - She didn't seem to care, and started making a scene. But as no one else besides my coworker who only speaks cantonese was there, it's not like I cared about what she thought either.

    JDS

I don't understand JDS' sig; but I'll second RB's request.
  13. Hah, that's actually hilarious. But how did the desk help support guy get caught?
  14. Rudy's a ban administrator in Trench Wars, and a local BanG operator. If Inferno got banned, that's his fault. If there's a conflict concerning the ban, grab a ticket ; which Inferno himself will be the only one able to do that as far as I can say. When trying to log back into Continuum, he should receive the ban message which explains why he got banned, and displays his ban id #.
  15. Reminds me about LC's problem here, in which he reported the same bug before. His problem had something to do with the order his optional lvz files were placed in. However, without knowing what your .lvz files look like (code-wise) or how you added them, it's hard to be of much help. Anyhow, moving to General Development for more relevancy (reason).
  16. Not the least contradictory (anyhow, I'll resubmit - thx)
  17. not that funny JDS, I'd have voted for you ya know EDIT: And I did fill out every single field, but wtf does the shoutbox have to do with it?
  18. ... Seriously, talk about wasting my time filling out everything to end up with this:
  19. We tried last year several times to get them to change it but without any luck. The fact that they wouldn't revive their previous listing of SubSpace (Continuum), which they still have the screenshots for in their database, lead someone to re-add Continuum as a seperate entry. Nothing is stopping you from !@#$%^&*in after them again though At least this time, someone managed to get screenshots and a basic logo up there.
  20. If Event Viewer doesn't catch any problems, and with all of the other info you mentioned, it's most likely because Continuum is being affected by either 1) a third-party program (firewall - administrator permissions - other program - torrents - virus - antivirus...) 2) your graphics card (Nvidia) 3) something is corrupted (maybe the install). Question though, have you ever used a previous install of Continuum? If not, then you should revert to an older version (0.39pr1) and tell us if certain zones that still allow it work (e.g. SSCI Devastation, or SSCU Death Star Battle). I also recommend you manually delete Continuum's registry using Windows' Regedit (find it in start > search (type regedit) > find Continuum's files)
  21. Not talking about TW (it's not even an SVS zone), rather Chaos & Premier League (now Chaos / League Zone SVS). You should scroll up to know what they were talking about. Anyhow, why bump topic?
  22. I would assume something like TWGallery (i.e. player pictures)?
  23. That's ok XDOOM, no harm was intended. But just so everyone knows, I have been in Deva nearly every single day lately (to retaliate against #B ). On a side note, since I enjoyed making last year's Christmas map, I for sure intend on making another base this year. Let me know if you ever need help with anything else (designing the tileset is hard though - but it's funny how my 1 safe tile from last year's, that was meant to look winterish, became a standard since )
  24. Try changing from default skin to another one (such as fuzion)
