Oh ok, wouldn't know cuz I haven't followed your advice and checked it out yet
-
You do know this was never his goal right? Wait, and you sayed they retiled it yet you couldn't even enter the zone. How does that make sense?

For Facebook at least, you get the virus through a private message. I'm not going to bother re-explaining the entire first post, but basically, if you have the virus, you'll know. It's a combination of adware, spyware, and trojan; so it's very obvious once you have it, albeit very difficult as you have to remove each infection individually seeing how it's multiple viruses and not just one.

Make sure to add Continuum.exe to Windows' DEP exception list. Even if you try to disable it, you should still do this.
-
Are you running a firewall? What OS are you running? Do you have DEP enabled for all programs? (re-read that sticky at the bottom, I'm 98% sure this is your problem)
-
No, Continuum is Windows-only due to its heavy reliance on DirectX. It can be run on Linux through Wine, but nothing else.

The difference is that the current !@#$%^&*le "Race 5" doesn't show up on map. I also didn't expect the 'brick' to appear transparent on the radar, so I added a hidden twist that will only be noticeable when you play. Then the third one is that I felt bad for not using up an empty space, so I put a line to force players in and out.

Ok, so Hexeen's idea: Winner gets +10% of loser's score. Loser gets -10% of their own score. My half idea I couldn't remember: Winner gets +100 points. (possibly if there was a score difference, make this higher if the lower ranked player wins)

I don't know how plausible the flag timer is, unless you replace the flags with a lvz (and do something like smong's halo_hill), but the rest is possible.

Although even if you didn't use the attach, you could still copy the person's rotation.

I honestly don't understand the logic. Port forwarding will only affect others, not yourself. If you're connecting to your IP, there are two different things that could happen depending on your setup. The first will send you to you router's configuration; it would technically be the same as trying to connect to 192.168.0.1 (or depending on the company, the numbers might differ). In another setup, your IP will be the same as localhost or 127.0.0.1 . This would explain why Cancer+ can connect to his zones without having to add them manually using 127.0.0.1; whereas Rootbear75 has to add it manually.

I see someone hasn't been paying attention to the convo. The answer isn't port forwarding, neither is it an issue with configurations. I'm nearly 100% sure it's a router issue that prevents users from connecting to their zone from their own IP (which is why it has to be added manually as 127.0.0.1). Port forwarding problems only prevent OTHERS from connecting to your zone. And if it really was a configuration problem, then someone tell me what's wrong here (and an ASSS configuration is attached for comparison). asss_config.txt

In modules.conf, make sure " fg_turf " is uncommented (as well as " flagcore "). Then, in your arena.conf file, add it in the attach modules section " [ Modules ] AttachModules = fg_turf ".

Go into Advanced Options, and then select "Software Emulation". Click ok, and then enter a zone. @Purge, that's exactly why I suggested a reinstall.
-
Uninstall, then reinstall Continuum from http://www.getcontinuum.com It sounds silly as an answer, but tell me if this helps.

It might be a problem for those who have routers. Before I had wireless, I could start up and connect to a zone without any troubles; now I have to manually add my zone in order to connect. It'll show up in the directory server list without a problem, but it's the connecting part on my end that's the problem (others can enter though). I believe the issue has been mentioned multiple times on MGB's server help forum, so I doubt it's merely a problem with the .ini file if it's also an ASSS problem.

Continuum itself doesn't use ports. Individual zones use ports, so you'll have to find out their number (right click on the zone name in the main Continuum window) and forward that + one port higher. However, if you can enter a zone, then your Wireless isn't blocking any port numbers. Lag != blocked ports. Wireless = packetloss. ISP & background programs (e.g. downloads, music...) = lag. You should post a trace of the specific zone that you're getting a lot of lag in. (click the big TRACE button in Continuum's main menu, and let it run for 50~100 cycles) This way, it'll be easier to identify the problem.

The safezone is a tile (read here) If you're asking "how do I fix my arena settings so that I automatically spawn in a safe or at coords X, Y"; then you should be asking these questions at the server help forums.

For everyone who has Facebook, be warned about a virus being sent via private messages in your inbox. The message will come from someone you know, and will look something like this: The link will be a mock up of Youtube which is apparently copyrighted by Myspace. Your friend's information and display picture will match that of their Facebook profile. The video itself though will not load. It'll tell you that you need to download the latest Flash player to be able to view it. Actually, anything you click will ask you to download the plugin. Whatever you do, don't download it though. It'll compromise all your computer's information, passwords, accounts, personal information, and then it'll auto-load Facebook and start sending the virus to others on your contact list. It also fills your computer with warnings/adware/spyware, etc. In the news: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...8080803022.html http://canadianpress.google.com/article/AL...fiSkURqN0qzE6Zw If you accidentally downloaded it, some recommended software tools are Spybot Search & Destroy, AVG, HiJackThis, & Safemode.

Since you locked it I decided it didn't show up in-game the way I'd like it to have, so here's a fix for map. Oh and I felt bad for not using up an empty space. Race5.lvl

Make your [billing] IP = localhost You could also try making your serverid and scoreid match [Misc] Port And make [Directory] Port = 4991 And finally [Directory] IP = sscentral.sscuservers.net, ssdir.playsubspace.com, warpath.bluetoast.org, sharvil.nanavati.net, dir.cz.sshq.net Oh, and [billing] Port = # should be the same number that you have in your subbill.ini (Usually most people use [billing] Port = 185), and not the same as [misc] Port #.

I think people are more enjoying the current map as it currently is. I've played Paintball maybe 2 times before, and have to admit it was just lame. The current map, although maybe emulates MG's (I've never seen it though), seems to be attracting a lot of players. Just yesterday, there were about 11 players (+ bot) playing there, and no tm or XDOOM around.

I'm guessing this has nothing to do with what any of you said, but rather might be a problem related to ScoreID and ServerID found in your server.ini (they need to be the same). Another reason could be that you need to add your zone's name, ip, and port manually. So when you go into Continuum, open the download zones menu, and click "Add custom". Put any name for you zone's name, then add "127.0.0.1" for your zone's IP, and then add your zone's Port number. Forwarding ports could be another problem, but this normally affects other users and not yourself.

Long ago as in fixed in the current version or next release? Because 1.2 still has this bug and I'll provide video if you need it. Wow, I really wasn't paying attention, but that's what I meant >< And I suppose I did miss the installer below. But no, I'm not asking you to emulate Continuum in every way, but you have to realize that the purpose of this client is so that SubSpace players can chat with others in-game. Thus, you should consider your target audience. I don't see why you wouldn't want to allow more customizability for simple matters such as the font, or allowing the entire background to be a uniform color, rather than mixed color + white (if readability/accessibility is your goal, then colours on white are an eyesoar). As for the commands, you don't need to copy SubChat by adding every feature, but an auto feature would be appreciated to list things such as chat when you log in.
