  1. -*BAD WORD*- you people are -*BAD WORD*-s. If you don't have any helpful advice in the tech support/bug reporting/game dev, etc. forums... don't say anything. These forums are for help... if you want to flame ppl, go do it on another forum system, because it's against the forum guidelines here.
  2. [Periodic] RewardDelay=0 [Territory] RewardDelay=0
  3. In the advanced options, make sure that "avoid page flipping" is clicked. IF it is already clicked, try turning it off... if that doesn't work, try "software emulation."
  4. It's a known issue with GF2 cards. Change vid cards (the GF2 sux anyway, and you can get a GF4 440 with 128 ram for $40 US)

    Bursts

He's wondering whether it's possible for a burst to do damage before it bounces. The answer is no.
  9. packetfiltering?
  10. Use Windows Explorer or 'My Computer' and browse to the Continuum directory. Right click>Properties Make sure that it doesnt have 'read only' checked... If it Isn't checked, then you might want to check the files inside the directory. The 1 used for profles is named profile.dat Make sure it is NOT 'read only'
  11. Make sure your name starts with only letters or numbers (No special characters like _ + * etc.)

  13. If you want both your PC and PS2 online at the same time, you will need a router. If you only want the PS2 online, then just plug it into your Cable Modem (you may need to use a crossover cable depending on your modem.) But you WILL need to use the setup CD to setup the Net Adapter on the PS2.
  14. They probably have tighter lag settings than other zones you've tried.

    Packetloss

TW is having lag issues. Time will fix it.
  16. Lag, pure and simple. It could be anything from the amount of players nearby, to your hard drive swapping it's pagefile. But rest !@#$%^&*ured, no data (C2S = client to server) means you aren't getting your packets to the server. Sounds odd, but wiggle the phone jacks that go into the modem, and into the wall. If your phone line to the modem is near power cables, move them, and if you have a long cord that is rolled into coils... straighten it out so it doesn't create interference for itself (like an electromagnet.)
  17. It's a VB runtime file. You can get the all the VB libraries (6 i think) from microsoft.com.
  18. It's not a hard thing to learn, simply intimidating. The best way to figure out your router is to read the manual. The next best way is to do a search on yahoo/google for that brand/model and see what pops up, usually you will stumble onto something helpful.
  19. my favorite:
  20. A related scenario, but a little off this exact topic: Tobacco companies already consider the amount of money they have to pay for lawsuits, yearly, into their accounting. If they expect an additional 1 billion in lawsuits next year, then they raise the price of a pack of smokes by $.05. Do you think the consumers see this increase? No... The businesses absorb this cost and the price of smokes remains the same. Remember that businesses are run by a diversity of people, all with different ways of thinking, and many decision makers come up with creative solutions to these situations.
  21. Dr. Brain needs a big, fat 'welcome to reality' smack. Seriously, read these: http://research.aarp.org/econ/dd65_workers.pdf http://www.ncpa.org/studies/s190/s190.html
  22. They just raised the minimum wage in California from like $6.25 to $8.50... Thats gonna hurt a lot of businesses (30% wage increase.) And now we are suppesed to expect the amount of jobs to go up based on that? Definately not... BUT Government officials do have the ability to "create jobs." Just one example: Gov. Official, Mrs. A, pitches a project to create low income housing in Cityville. She gets her funding from a number of places: donations, business investors, and government funding. So there ends up being $2 million to go into this project... to pay for materials, labor, planning, etc. These are all jobs that weren't there last year, hence "jobs have been created." Just remember, this is just 1 scenario I made up in a few seconds, imagine how often this actually happens. If Kerry budgets things the right way, he could get those numbers published. And actually, a lot of telemarketing and phone tech support is being moved to India and the Middle East.
  23. Unemployment rate = 5% Total Population = 280,000,000 Amount of unemployed = 280,000,000 x .05 (5 percent) = 14,000,000 14 million unemployed.... 10 million jobs added... Sounds like a good plan to me.
  24. To start: *arena %100 To stop: *arena %101
  25. The last US census put the population at 280 million...
