Lots of progress... http://www.subspaceonline.com/index.php Downloads, Technical FAQ, Zone Events, 20 Questions, DCME About and Screenshots, and Comics all that is left to do. Billing Website may also be up next weekend depending on how much gets done between now and then. September 2nd is on a Wednesday, not a friday like I originally had throught months ago (looked at October for some reason, dunno, house stuff, other dates, etc.). So September 5th or 6th will be SSOs release date. This is right on tract with what I was originally planning anyways (1st weekend in September), though just not the date I promrised. But it is coming, so keep your eyes open.

Metal Gear has been dead for months. I tried to begin helping revive it back in March, but it was slowly coming back until again, someone on staff failed the players. It is mostly just proof that stagnation kills this game, and stagnation destroyed MG in only a few months time. A lot of upper staff was inactive, things we're never changed/updated, they didn't listen to the players, etc. Most the players hated the packages how they we're. Liked the idea, but not the way they we're. This along with the fact MG wasn't hosting as much anymore (heard metalmod was down a lot), and the map was never really changed as the population dwindled a bit, just finished the zone off. I think we can all learn from MG that listening to players, always keeping new interesting things going, and being actively involved in the zone is a lot more important than some zone owners/sysops like to think.

A few months back, I asked for questions for 20 questions. Never really got anything good, quick, or solid, but I did finally find an OLD e-mail I recieved and saved with the format for 20 Questions. I think some don't apply to the current ss atmosphere (IE: sheep/sheepcloning, etc.), and could be updated. Why did you pick ____ as your SS name? What other alias have you gone under? They can submit and reply. They can also upload screenshots, file dumps, etc. And download from there. I gave everyone but guests, bots, and banned full access.

Said f it, and purchased CCS. SSForum.net is now in same dir as SubSpaceOnline.com as a domain addon. Its really a subdomain, but domain aliases so you'll never notice a difference. This allows for SSO to access files in SSForum's dir and vice versa (needed for CCS). Also makes back ups easier for me, and makes it easier to track bandwidth and point the site as needed. You may notice Quotes, BanG, and Tracker go offline and come back on, amongst other SSCentral subdomains (excluding hosted ones), as I begin moving that domain under SSO also, and begin turning sscentral.com (no www) into a directory server. Lots going on. Will keep you updated.

Update: Seems Powerball and T3 can also connect. SSCC and EG/Chaos/SWZ's SSCU server both = offline. SSCE also seems offline as players in there aren't on chats. Edit: All back online now within 1min of typing that. lol.

Grr... Offline for all zones except TW, 17th, and Alpha who are on the same server. Seems they're the only IP being allowed through the biller server firewall (yes it is on a different server than tw and them). Between that and directory server being down, seems like a firewall issue. SSCU zones not connecting to other dir servers/vice versa. I think something really cooky is going on.

CCS is out. But won't have $35 until maybe next paycheck... gah... the timing of course... gotta love it. And why ccs? It is manageable from the same ACP as SSForum, and can grab ANYTHING we want from the forums for information/data.

General Development only became such after merging 2 dev forums, that only arised, because general discussion had issues keeping all the active topics on more than 1 page... sometimes even 2 pages. Well, obviously that issue is long gone, so I re-merged it with general. Feel more than free to continue posting development threads. I just feel condensing the little activity that forum and world discussion we're seeing (frontpages stretching back more than 5 months, and most the front page topics being moved from general) it might just be worth merging discussion down a bit. I do plan to begin banning the retards again. So if someone won't stop running their mouth, or decides to begin playing victim, blah blah blah, they will find themselves no longer a member of this community. Banned, Deleted, and gone. It was something I have been pondering for weeks... if not months. I finally decided to just go ahead with it. SSF's 7th Birthday is coming up, along with SSO's release, Zoner's re-release, and now a new billing site. I'd like to see things maybe pick up again, and turn SSForum back into a useful place to post. Some people may not like this. But this is my reasoning.
