  1. A'ight, sounds good
  2. I got scared a bit when I got a "this domain is for sale" kind of page when I clicked by bookmark... will it be renewed, or should I stop being lazy and just update my bookmarks?

For laggots like me, please make it so if a player leaves, guarantee him a spot on the same team for a minute or two... Perhaps keep the player's weight on the team during that time to also avoid people quickly stealing spots.

Woo! I was also surprised that my AVG suddenly started detecting Continuum as a threat... Thanks to whoever signaled it as a false positive.

I would think that the last repel fired is considered... or the closest one, or you end up being thrown around endlessly. I am pretty sure that they don't add up in any way... You could test it quite easily with some dummies, or just one friend and a bot that lays mines or throws decoys or whatever. The blast radius from bombs is round, the prox radius is square... I don't know about repels
  6. Ew... we got trolled bad Should have noticed every number was a multiple of 3 lol!

As long as you're in the repel's radius, your speed instantly becomes RepelSpeed

Repels just push stuff outwards at a fixed speed (RepelSpeed) (or inwards, if RepelSpeed is negative, or puts everything to a dead stop if it's 0) However, once repelled, ships find themselves with no speed limit (so that ships can effectively be repelled at 10000 even if their max speed is 1000). This has the effect that while you're being repelled, you can sometimes accellerate to crazy speeds. I'm not sure what setting controls that "no speed limit" delay, or if it can even be controlled... It's probably linked to the the effective time of a repel (e.g. You fire a repel, a bullet comes in the repel radius 0.1s after, it will still "bounce off" it.
  9. I use mostly default keys... Some exceptions: Numpad 0 is mapped to stealth, Numpad 1 to cloak... useful for quick re-cloaking after shooting. I also use a Autohotkey script to disable the 'windows' key when the Continuum window has focus, this allows me to actually use it as a macro key. My /?attach macro is mapped there... very handy, since it's just beside the Ctrl key. Oh, my warp key is also moved to # (which is just above my tab key, with my uber french-canadian keyboard layout). Portal is shift-# as well.

  11. ^ We started using Mercurial at my job... it's the same concept as git, meaning it's a distributed source code control system. Unlike SVN, which has a client and a server, distributed systems don't even require a server. A "central repository" is often used to keep the main branch centralized, obviously, but that central repository doesn't even have to be a server... At my job it's just a shared folder on the network. It heavily relies on merging changes, and it is really impressive in that aspect. But SVN is quite easy to setup, and works well too, especially with smaller teams. my 0.02$ Disclaimer: I never actually used git... github seems kinda nice

A lot of useless info can probably be filtered out by not listing categories for which the current ship has 0 capacity... i.e. if you don't have anything to put repels on, it's useless to list the 'Repeller' category... I guess that would apply for all consumables

  14. Did you set up a repository?
  15. Sending servers into low orbit to avoid being shut down by the authorities? Sounds legit.
  16. Most arenas I found are actually uploaded at SSL 17th Dev. If you want them I could probably package them and upload them somewhere.
  17. I do have some of the plugins, but I don't think I have the complex one. MMaverick had a bunch of them on his site, but it appears to be down now. If anyone has the Complex bot dll, it would be him I think. If you're setting up a zone with ASSS, you might be able to find some equivalent server modules, which are way more powerful than bots. Check out SSCL Tri-Sector... they actually have something that use capture spots just like The Complex. They use it to activate periodic powerups, instead of moving the spawn point forward like in The Complex. But the way sectors are captured is pretty much the same, so it might be a good thing to start with. All the plugins I got are for specific events, like 2v2, brackets, etc.

  19. If YOU want to make a facebook client for this game, go right ahead, no one's gonna stop you... But you won't convince anyone to do it for you. But IMO, any development spare time should be spent towards a new actual client so we can improve the game with new features everyone has wanted for years.

  22. First step: zip all your source, and upload it on your email account, in case your house blows up before you can back it up Then, you can set up a sourceforge page for the project, it's pretty simple... if you want it open-source, that is. Then you can set up SVN to version the code... It's pretty simple. I wouldn't mind helping you setting up
  23. Good stuff Are you using a source control system like SVN or such? And do you have your code backed up somewhere on the internet? Just making sure you don't lose everything in case your house blows up or whatever :/ That would suck... I mean... the house blowing up would suck a lot in itself, but if it blew up all your source code at the same time, it would suck way more It's probably been answered already, but I can't be bothered to search through a dozen pages
  24. Also make sure you unzipped the stuff... Windows sometimes just opens a zip file like a folder, but you need to take the files out of it.
