  1. Did you read this? http://www.minegoboom.com/server/howto-zone/index.html The name of the .lvl to load should be specified in your server.ini file. As for the biller, you have to check the billing options... like the port and stuff. I haven't set up a subgame server for a long time, but if you read the link above, it should go through all the steps. Make sure you read carefully, the formatting of the page makes it easy to skip a sentence by mistake. Quick things to check first in server.ini: [Misc] ServerIP=localhost [billing] IP=localhost Password=WHATEVERYOUWANT ***Make sure you put the same password in [Misc] BillingPassword in subbill.ini*** Port=185 ***This should be the same value as the [Misc] Port in subbill.ini*** ServerId=#### GroupId=1 ScoreId=#### ***ServerId and ScoreId should be equal to what you put in [Misc] Port*** You probably have something not matching between the server.ini's [billing] section and subbill.ini And if you got to that point, the map is definitely not your issue... You can attach server.ini and subbill.ini if you still have issues after checking what I told you.
  2. If you're trying to import a tileset, you need to import the entire 304x160 image... You can export the current tileset as a bitmap, modify it in your favorite paint application, save it as a 8-bit or 24-bit bitmap, and re-import it. You should be able to edit single tiles from the Tileset Editor (Ctrl+E), using the 'edit tile' button... If you have a specific application that pops up, maybe it won't work. It should work with the standard Paint application. Make sure you don't change the size of the image while editing it. OH WAIT, it's actually a known bug: http://www.subspace....bug-tileeditor/ take a look... It's because your font size settings are at 125%. It messes up the size of the controls we draw in... Blame the old language we used to make this thing. Right-click on your desktop, go in the resolution settings. At the bottom you should see something like "make text smaller or bigger", click there, and set it to 100%. Edit: It appears the "FAQ / Known issues" pinned topic is messed up... meh.
  3. Editing graphics will require you to build .lvz files... If you search around these forums or at minegoboom you'll find plenty of info on how to make them. As for settings, you'll have to figure out how to edit them, either through editing server.cfg, or esc-c ingame... I also recommend opening the "template.sss" file you got with subgame, open it with notepad or whatever. It contains the list of all settings, with a description. So when looking for something in particular, a quick 'search' in that file usually points you to the right place.
  4. LOL... I love the rocket sound
  5. To answer your question (and hopefully get back on topic), they're hard to get ahold of, as far as I know... And you're probably not the first person to want to ask them whatever it is you want to ask them. Maybe if you tell us why you want to contact them, we might be able to tell you that it's useless to even try

    Hosters

I say, 4 bases, one in each corner of the map, and 4 smaller areas between them (where b2, 4, 6 8 would be) where events can be hosted... and the upper one could stay as the scrap & salvage, still leaving 3 areas for various events. The HT jump gates could be repositioned, evenly distributed with 3 on each side instead of 4. Left and right gates would lead to center, top gate would lead to scrap & salvage, bottom gate would be... not there, I guess (or just lead to center as well?) Gates in each corner would be a base. And no gates would lead to the event areas, because a module/mod would handle that. Edit: Something like this: EA, EB and EC being 3 event areas, Purple squares being jump gates (jump gates not shown in B1, B2, B3, B4) B8 being scrap&salvage
  8. It's not that they require the source... it's that WE would need it to be in control of the game, or at least prove that it's ours.
  9. Would have to consider: -Number of times attached to (for lancs / evokers) -Flags captured (flags dropped by the enemy that you pick up, bonus points for capturing flags while enemy has all 12 flags, and bonus bonus points if they have all 12 dropped) -Kills, of course (as cxc says, extra weight for killing an anchor) -Flag game wins vs losses hmm

  11. Just saying... when you do a %# sound, only you can hear it Players can't send sounds like that. My macros: ?field ?|buy -c 30 repel|buy -c 30 burst|buy -c 30 thor|buy -c 30 energy infusion 'I NEED HELP! ATTACH TO ME NOW! '?target %tickname needs help! Attach to %tickname!!! :UB-Picobot:!stats 'Copy that! 'X-Radar is clear 'CLOAKER!!! FIRE AT WILL! ?chat ?id 0 'Disregard last transmission! %158 /?attach /*warpto 512 516 ?jump ?tw 'AD!!! :UB-Picobot:!ad '?target Incoming enemies! '?target Sector clear! /?attach ^lol, some relics of 17th Parallel are still in there... a *warpto macro? lol... My left windows key is mapped to a /?attach macro (I use Autohotkey to disable its native function of bringing up the start menu, making me laggout in the process) Num0 is mapped to stealth, Num1 to cloak (so i can toggle them quick with my right little finger) Num2 is mapped with AutohotKey to a F5-warp combo, to use a portal while leaving a decoy behind. My warp key is mapped to # (the key above tab... ` on an american keyboard, I guess)
  12. ^ true dat
  13. Yeah... evokers should definitely be shown again on that list And any worthy team should call the lancs/evoks as they change
  14. Which would be incredibly annoying and dumb
  15. They're not 'asking for a 10000$ pledge' ... They're just putting the option there. If someone, or an organization, wants to support him, they can. Do you know the Humble Indie Bundle packages? You could pay whatever you want to get like 5 indie games. You could pay 0$. You could pay 10000$. Take a look:http://support.humblebundle.com/customer/portal/articles/281031-prior-bundle-statistics Notch, the guy behind Minecraft, donated like 10000$ on each of the bundles. Is that the epitome of capitalism? It's a donation, that's just how it works.
  16. A viable counter would be to park a fat ship in B8 laying jump gates or something to warp out those who try to buy bricks ... But you'd get specced for lack of flagging after a while.
  17. That's not how turrets work, however... As soon as you are within the blast radius of a bomb, your turret gets X damage. Where X = 200, 250, 300 or 350, depending on the level of the bomb.So a lvl3 bomb exploding pretty far, but that still makes your screen shake and inflicts you, say, 50 damage, will still do 300 to your turret. To be logical, turrets would need to either: A ) Get damaged with the same amount of damage you do, so this takes into account the distance of the explosion B ) Get damaged equally by all bomb levels, keeping the current X damage no matter the distance. Higher level bombs will still do more damage (or rather, more easily deal damage) to the turret because of the increased splash

    FTL's

Maybe it could work the other way around... kind of like a portal... you go somewhere, drop the exit gate (i'm thinking a inversion matrix-sized jump gate graphic) , move back near your team, drop an entrance point that people can use for a couple seconds to warp to the exit point. This gives the defending team some time to prepare for the horde coming through the gate.
  19. Corners aren't the worst... near a wall that can be reached from the other side can get you insta-killed by a coffin. Those are nasty... the whole burst spawns right beside a wall so it all bounces back on you instantly. That's when I find coffin to be really lame...

    FTL's

Jump drives are fun Lower the ID drive delay, raise the tw key delay
  21. hint: transwarp key
  22. I tried registering on there, but I never got the activation link in my email Edit: Just checked their facebook page and saw this: Wee.
  23. I think I came a little when the first ship appeared in the trailer.

    FTL's

I was having a little discussion with cxc about FTL items. Dilithium is a signature FTL, and it allows you to move by like... 2 inches. Transwarp key is not a signature, yet it allows you to move instantly anywhere, while not being affected by antiwarp... Antiwarp should block all forms of warp, especially transWARP. It also has a cooldown of ... 3 seconds or something. My suggestion: Either make tw key affected by antiwarp and increase its cooldown, or make it a sig somehow. Another suggestion: Jump engines should probably not be affected by antiwarp. It's the only way to counter gate-blocking, and it's pretty much the only thing it can do. I really doubt they would become overpowered in any way. Plus, jump engines doesn't have "warp" in its name
