if thats not what i said... thats what i wanted to say... anyways i think I created that problem myself at some point
-
Bajan, plz update DCME on subspacedownloads
Samapico replied to Drake7707's topic in Drake Continuum Map Editor
is it possible to have a link to the download thread instead of a direct download? since it gets updated pretty often... link: http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=10662 -
my long post scared you? >=D anyways, no problem... i'd be glad to do that myself anyway as I have a good idea of what I have in mind...

ok some suggestions - The whiter grid lines... I think you set them to fit continuum's coordinate system right? , but I prefered having it at fixed number of tiles like 32 so it would fit well with the center lines... soooo I suggest having them being adjustable... like... you give a X number of tiles between 2 and 1024... each Y of them, you put a red line... (for example, as I had it set before, X would be 32, and Y would be 4... That way, grid would be fully customizable... !@#$%^&*, if you do a form for it, you could even make the colors adjustable for all 4 grid lines type... normal dark (grid) whiter lines (let's call them sector lines) red lines (large sector lines) and center that would be so cool... Well, if you dont do it, I'll do it whenever I get time again anyway Oh... and an 'offset' for these sector grid lines would be useful... or an option to 'align with center' the grid... What I mean is, if you want a sector line each 17 tile (X = 17), it wouldnt have to be at tiles 0, 17, 34, etc... because it wouldnt fit with center lines, and wouldnt be useful for symetrical designing of maps.... With an offset of 512 mod X (I think...I just made that up) , the sector lines would fit with center... there would be one at 512, and then one 17 tiles away the way I see it, you'd have a slider with which you could change the offset (from 0 to X) , with a button to 'center' that would set the correct value for center setting horizontal and vertical settings could be different as well... just need all the controls doubled, and perhaps a check box (selected by default) to use same settings on both axis If I remember how I made the lines draw, doing all these things arent that hard I think.. Would need a form with all those adjustments wow... I just thought most of these things while writing the post... heh... ok... emm.. I had other things to suggest: When you start the program without having a default.bmp... I had made it so it would ask you automatically to import a tileset... if you select 'cancel' , you get a message saying you 'need' to select a tileset for and it brings you back to the import tileset screen... So if one starts the program without having any tileset on his computer (like I just did) , you're stuck ... so we'd need a 'quit program' button with that error message... and/or a 'use internal default tileset' button to get the tileset from picdefaulttileset (which I use to compare the default.bmp with the 'real' default tileset) hmmmm... And I just tried the mouse-scroll while using a tool on this much faster computer... and wow it's fast... adjusting the speed would be nice... there's already an integer called 'speed' in the dragmap sub... changes the # of tiles to move at each scan of the sub... simple slider in some other form to select from 1 to 10 or so... speaking of all these options... could all be included in one main options panel... with tabs... that'd be nice and as the features are added, just add some tabs ... mhm... Where do I get all those brilliant ideas from? I'm so cool that's all I have to say for now farewell, good luck, and good job with these things you added oh... and I just noticed there is some whitish background behind the zoomed preview and the <-> label... its kind of ugly i dont know if its an easy fix or not, since its a picturebox.. anyways... just to inform

Do you think i update too much :p
Samapico replied to Drake7707's topic in Drake Continuum Map Editor
oh... and I think we can get rid of the 'edits #' suffix... we can do plenty of releases before hitting v1.2.00 and dont forget to increment the version in the project's properties (you can set auto increment, but I hate it because I always find bugs 5 seconds after i compiled.. so I have to compile again ) oh and there's an extra attachment at the bottom of the download topic... i dunno if its suposed to be in archive files or just deleted... edit: i see you are currently in that topic.. probably is just temporary and I just read about bookmarks... niiiice -
whoa.. just as I posted how to fix it (in other topic)

Samapico replied to Drake7707's topic in Drake Continuum Map Editor
That's what I was doing also.. And drake... I realised that when I fixed that 'extra tileset' appearing bug... I didnt update the source anywhere. So I'll just tell you how to fix it, not that it is hard to find... but it's just the the 'pictileset' (i think) picturebox is visible ... but it shouldnt be... in the ' -> ' and ' <- ' button script, there is a line that set it to visible / invisible... just delete those... I fixed that like 10 minutes before leaving so I just had time to upload the .exe maybe its already fixed too... I wouldnt know -
yep... i used tortoisesvn as well... works well
-
found the problem....... it only appeared on higher resolution than 1024x768 (SOS's screenshot gave me a hint for that)
-
errrrrr wtf... I had that problem just before posting the release... but I thought I had it fixed... did it appear that way when you hidden the tileset then showed it again? and why the !@#$%^&* would it need a french vb6 dll? uh err... well here's the dll if you really need it... and I'll take a look into the problem... edit: ... can't seem to reproduce the problem... and I dont know why the .exe would ask for a french dll.... bleh VB6FR.zip
-
weird thing is that it is happening on all his 3 computers... ô.o
-
here we go... version 1.1.07 , will probably the most up-to-date version for a while, unless Drake works on it again.
-
I'll probably be busy tasting my bro's home-made beer though <_<
-
I'll be living with my brother for the duration of my... err.. ... teaching practice? training period? ... w/e... having a job for about one month as final project to obtain my DEC (equivalent of a college diploma in prov. of Québec) in Industrial Electronics... so I'm not going too far... I just won't have MS Visual Basic there
-
I'll be away for about one month starting Tuesday... I might check in once in a while, but I probably won't be working on DCME during that time, so keep posting feedback and requests, it will be done sooner or later
-
I didnt do much bots, but I remember reading about that, i'm pretty sure you can just redefine the size of the countdown array, or change its size wherever it is already defined cant tell you more

woot... dcme forum.... should have a separate locked thread for posting releases
-
if the problem is caused by special tiles, the error message would say something like 'tile ID error' or something like that DCME supports those extra tiles as well
-
It was just a way to get past that problem until it is fixed which shouldnt take too long, I don't have the latest source so I cant do it myself right now (not that i have the time to anyway)
