  1. well.. 8pm EST seems to be the peak time nowadays... http://stats.17thparallel.com/index.php?a=zone&id=150
  2. which standard tile editor are you speaking of? there must be a couple of these existing ; I never used any though and if by special tiles you mean the "extra" tiles, no it is not possible to change anything of them but if by special tiles you mean the asteroids and the wormhole and such, it is kinda possible, but not via the tileset ; you have to change the over#.bm2 files and add them in a lvz ; so editing those might only be possible with DCME once the LVZ features are included, which could take a while. The current Tile Editor supports any size of image though, so it will be easy to adapt it to create an Image Editor

hosting them every day would get people bored of them fast and it would not be "special" events anymore, so people would not care to participate in them that much... 2 or 3 per week would be enough
  5. wee... most drawing tools are working... left to do: - Ellipse - Selection (not sure how I will make that yet... especially if I want it to work with undo/redo) - Clipboard and all the gadgets... flip.. rotate.. pixel grid.. outlined cursor..

A MS Access database could generate top10's on a webpage automatically ; and it's easy to add data to it
  8. True... but for downloading the DCME program itself, its better if it is compressed cause it reduces the size by a factor of like 2 or 3... but then it could be a selfextracting archive ; hmmmm, now that I think of it, I'm not sure if we could make it auto-update&restart like that ; the self-extracting archive would always ask for confirmation to overwrite (which can be avoided using the zip dll)... So we'd need some kind of installer that could do that Version 1.3, however, should be a full installer ; then the updates would come in small installers... But I have 0 experience in installers so don't count on me for that
  9. could do that... but I have no place to put such file for direct download; i dont know if a link to an attachment would work with msinet ; but it would still require msinet.ocx to do a direct download from the program...

compiling all-time DT stats of players would be interesting not only fights won and loss but how many individual rounds were won, lost, or tied interesting stats could come out of that as the average kills per loss (av. number of kills you got when you lose to someone 5-#) or avg deaths per win (i.e. someone who has 0 deaths per win would really OWN everyone 5-0... but someone with 4 deaths per wins would mean he still had trouble with his opponents)
  11. msinet is a relatively common control, but vbuzip10 is not something everyone has... at the moment (i.e. with upcoming version), it is very easy for users to get the missing components without even having to search for it. But would supplying them directly be better? atleast for these 2 components, because by combining these 2, we are able to provide additional files very easily if needed... msinet would download the file, and vbuzip would install it right away

explanation: Jul 31 2006, 12:51 PM -> 12:51 Jul 31 2006, 11:22 PM -> 23:22 this is why the 12-hours system is completly illogical couldnt we set our display settings to 24-hours before?
  13. Tile editor is almost done... - Moving and zooming works - Undo / Redo works - Pencil, Eraser and Line works most of the work is done.. just need to add each tool one at a time now...
  14. har har har, it shouldnt crash anymore, even if you dont have the needed components... it searches for the component first (in application path and system folder (using OS variables)), and if it doesnt find it, a message will appear asking you if you want to download it, and bring you to the download page (for msinet) for vbuzip10.dll, if you already have msinet, it will bring up the "Get Components" dialog, and allow you to download it quickly by one simple click, then the zip file will be opened automatically... you just need to extract it

    theyre both PM...
  16. someone on another forum suggested creating a .bat file that would do the work, then it would delete itself... that would have been pretty neat too
  17. Removed vbuzip10.dll as it will not be needed anymore.
  18. woot.. renaming it works didnt know how to "queue a "delete after restart" work item for Windows" as you suggested, but everytime DCME starts, it searches for a DCMEbackup????.exe hidden file, and deletes it if present now im trying to handle errors correctly concerning missing components... or have it check if the component exists before trying to use it and with msinet and vbuzip10 combined, it will be possible to download eventual other components really easily, and they would install automatically
  19. ok.. found a way to unzip easily using a dll (it will need to be downloaded) ... but it doesnt seem to want to overwrite the .exe when it is running (from VB's IDE it works since the .exe file is not being used)

  25. if fill in screen is activated, it will not spread beyond your screen's limit or select the area you want to be filled, and use bucket in selection, it will not spread beyond the selection or just lay temporary tiles to block where you do not want them to spread these ways would be much faster than using pencil all the way through anyways, for the bug, I cant find a way to make it happen... so i dunno what to fix =/ when it happens, try zooming in / out , see if it fixes the problem ; zooming re-sets the values of the scrollbars oh, and on the screenshot, where was the actual Pencil cursor pointing to? on the squared tile or on the preview tile? and if you lay the tile, it lays where the preview is? and you just made me think about something... there should be a tool option for the bucket: [] spread diagonally to make it not only check directly on the sides, but diagonally as well ; very useful to fill in between close diagonal walls
