  2. Bursts have been weakened overall. Agreed with as well. Along with antideath, as for what to do with bricks (and repels for that matter), while I do agree there is a big problem, handling items is Dr Brain's territory, so it's up to him to decide what to do.

    The warbird

I think the warbird is fine. I don't use afterburners at all, and I can kill most people in the center and stay alive. With just an ion drive, the ship is maneuverable enough (in almost all cases) to not need afterburners to dodge attacks. With the nerf on the weasel's flechette though, we'll probably see fewer center killling weasels in the future anyways.

    Weasels

The problem is mostly with the flechette gun, not with the EMP (which is actually the opposite of what I'd like it to be ). The weasel's multifire spread has been decreased in response. There have been some complaints about the multifire, and I want to make it clear that the weasel is not intended to be a powerful fighter or dominate the center.

  13. Dear, Scarf dot en el The reason I don't play anymore is that outside of customizing my ship, the zone simply isn't fun anymore. Flagging, as any veteran knows, used to be more or less all I did in this zone. I would still flag and play, but to my dismay, it has devolved into spamming repels and bricks. I hate to say it, but the only thing I think is fun is just screwing around, killing in the center. Also, I'm a lot busier now than I used to be in high school. Not to say that I have zero free time, but why spend 20 or so minutes of your life alternating between pressing the F7 and F4 keys when you can hang out or even just play some other game? I suppose I blame part of it on the new population as a whole. There are lots of cool new players in HS now, but the community is so fragmented. People can hardly do or say anything in-game without at least one other person complaining about it (and I'm not just referring to moderator actions). For example, the other day, there was a 2 hour !@#$%^&*-fest by a few players targetted at the moderators who were online and the players who backed them (both of which have no direct influence or control in the development of the zone), blaming the problems of the zone on those moderators and players. There's absolutely no "together" feeling anymore. Also, gameplay-wise, it's the lack of development going on in response to the new population (!@#$%^&* it Brain and D1, who said you could have a life?! ). Actually, I myself am guilty of this. While there is still a lot of work going on, it may not be enough. It hurts me to see all the flaws and imbalances in the gameplay, so I feel very compelled to make lots of changes. While I've tried to fix as much as I can, changes haven't always created the desired outcomes. Regardless, there's a big limit on what changes I can even make, and many flaws still exist. In this respect, I really want to thank people like Fat Cat, Doom-Squirrel, Evo3.14, and others who point out the flaws of gameplay. Not playing very much, sometimes the only way that I and some other devs are even aware of problems is through the forum. To sum up, I don't really know what the problem is, perhaps just relative indifference to the things going on in the zone relative to everything else going on in all of our lives. Sincerely, Bo Mook

    another idea.

Possibly, but as Kirby said, this is going to be difficult to balance. Perhaps a formula that takes into account what the current jackpot is? Such as $1000 + [half the current jackpot]. Also this should probably be limited to being able to be purchased in a duration of time, such as once a day, so that rich players who don't care about their money can't spam it. Of course, this does make it complicated and it'll probably be more trouble than it's worth to implement. This should not happen, ever. This would tilt the favors way too much in favor of the rich.

  20. In terms of HE missiles, I personally think they should lose the ability to lay mines, and perhaps come with a penalty (such as a -1 speed). Tacnuke does suck in a base, but in general, I still think it has its uses; a good levi player can be very competetive against warbirds and javelins and often reach very high bounty in the center with tacnuke. We are thinking of ways to really nerf HE levis though, mostly in response to wallbombing and not center killing. I recently gave slight increases to the recharge rate and maximum energy to the terrier. This is just a temporary thing to make it "suck less", since we're planning a major overhaul of the ship. The main problem with the terrier is being easily picked off by warbirds and javelins, which is also why simply making it sturdier isn't a viable solution. Along with the shark, I'm not quite sure what to do with them at the moment, but they are my next priority (currently, I'm focusing on making the weasel better). Agreed with the EMP shutdown time. I was hesitant earlier to decrease this without the addition of another power, such as shrapnel bombs, since EMP is currently the only thing the weasel has going for it, and even then, it's arguably underpowered. I have just made the suggested changes, but instead of quartering EMP length, I cut it in half, to 4 seconds, the same as in SVS. Something else for the weasel is currently being worked on, so that it won't just play like "another generic ship but with EMP".
  21. Doom_Squirrel, I do admit there is imbalance in the zone, and we try to balance as much as we can. It's not that we don't care, it's that we have to come up with a plausible solution and then implement it, not to mention all of us who are working on the zone have college and more important things to worry about. I personally know Dr Brain and D1st0rt are booked in real life, and even though they're not on much, they make the best effort they can to be active. I've actually agreed with most of the things you've pointed out and suggested, and we are working on fixing them. I've yet to see anything gamebreaking (with the exception of perhaps the bricking/repping in flagging, which we're working on), so for everything else, just be patient like the rest of us until we fix it. There's no need to rant about the same problem every 10 minutes until we've finished implementing the solution. Criticism and complaining are okay, but pouting is not. I didn't mind the wallbombing, reshipping, or just about all of your other threads; I found them helpful, actually. But this thread and the weasel thread? Come on! Have you ever wondered why nobody likes you? Just because there's the slightest imbalance or problem, you act as if the zone is absolutely unplayable. And because the problem isn't fixed immediately, you act as if we're all purposefully ignoring you. That's just childish. I thought this kind of crap would be below you.

  23. Because Fat Cat has unfortunately run out of food at his house, he has eaten one repel from the second close combat pack on every player's ship. You'll still have 2 repels if you own a single Close Combat pack, but you will only have 3 if you have 2 Close Combat packs. P.S. If you want to complain, talk to me. Fat Cat did not actually eat your repel.

  25. Not that I have much of a problem with HE levi's, but for those who do maybe that might be a good idea. This is mostly to weaken wallbombers, who usually lay a huge field of mines in the confined space between the outer wall of a base and the sector border. Currently, when a fighter tries to pursue the wallbomber, he just runs through the minefield to get away or repeatedly flies across the mine field, making it very annoying and difficult to kill him.
