    When the new HS is up, there will be a new item system; and by the looks of it, the items in general will be more affordable. It won't be like right now with a maximum upgrade limit or with enhancers (eliminating the "halt" currently experienced by poor people as they are stopped at 10 upgrades and have to save up for an enhancer) .
  3. I'm just thinking proximity bombs will have to be disabled for Fridays, otherwise certain ships (coughJAVELINcough) will be extremely overpowered .

  7. it is possible, but I doubt it will ever be implemented; the reason being that it would be almost impossible for newbies to buy any items (and a big pain even for veterans). Maybe a similar idea to what you're stating will be added into the new hyperspace, but stores will always have safety zones.

  9. ah, that's one of the best ideas I've heard in a while lol yeah, it is possible to remove the flag effects from powerballs, and it would probably be better that way, too.

  11. ah, there already is a slight penalty to thrust and speed (mostly speed though) when holding flags/powerball. Currently, the problem with it is that this small penalty is negligible on a warbird or other upgraded ship. I was reluctant to increase it because on slower, or unupgraded ships, the penalty would've been extreme, making it even more difficult than it already is for newbies to try and score goals . It probably wouldn't be too bad to further increase this penalty just a little bit, though.

  13. That would probably make problems worse. Only rich veterans would be able to afford the shrapnel, and they'd just slaughter the people who can't afford it that way.

  15. it's easy to increase direct bomb damage' date=' but impossible to reduce damage just from a proxed hit. Originally, the shrapnel was reduced (though the direct bomb damage increased) to reduce the m!@#$%^&*-killing power of the javelin. I am thinking about making the energy cost increments higher, so lower level bombs cost very little energy, while higher level bombs cost much more. Continuum physics makes both of those changes impossible without making weasel bombs also deal extreme damage and have a very long EMP freeze time in general. I think the main reason the weasel is cheap is because shrapnel itself has been strengthened. And the only reason weasel bombs deal so little closebomb damage is because they deal 1/10 of normal bomb damage. I intentionally decreased direct weasel bomb damage for the sake of basing (when enemies repel weasel mines' date=' they won't tk half your freq anymore). yeah, this can be done, and I think it will solve the weasel problem as well.

Personally I support private freqs, since it allows veterans to play with each other and have fun (and no offense to any pubbers, but some people on public freqs just do [i']not [/i]know what they're doing), so I don't think private freqs will be removed altogether, but maybe there could be something like "all-public freq Tuesdays" or something where no private freqs exist, forcing veterans and newbies to mingle at least some of the time.
  17. lol yes, very well put, D1 Also, please don't forget that "left", "right", and "up" are directions too. Since currently, because almost everyone's house faces down, if you make a house that faces to the side or faces up, you will get a better plot of land. You also are allowed to have multiple houses right now, but if hstown ever runs out of space, people with multiple houses will lose some lots. Also, when sending your house, only your house needs to be in the top left corner of the map. Please do not send the entire hstown map with your house.

  19. The roads will be tiled in the future in .lvz. Also, the map arrangement is being adjusted into something more rigid. About the description, I think the arena name itself is self self-explanatory. Descriptions for particular things like houses will be added as needed though.

  22. under the category [mapobjects], put: (top left x coordinate),(top left y coordinate),(image number),(layer),(display method),(loop time in ticks),(object number) as an example, if you want to display a static image as a background image, with the top left coordinates in the center of the map, it would be: [mapobjects] 8192,8192,IMAGE0,AfterBackground,ShowAlways,0,0 Also, coordinates are not in tiles, but in pixels (or 1/16 of a tile). The other layers are: BelowAll, AfterBackground, AfterTiles, AfterWeapons, AfterShips, AfterGauges, AfterChat, and TopMost. The last three fields for the most part can be ignored if you're having trouble finding exact pixel coordinates, just open the map editor, find your tile coordinates and multiply it by 16
