  1. well, not everybody can write modules

    Ball

I agree with the money amount being changed based on total amount of players. With the current quadratic formula, scoring is worth more than flagging with a high population, and isn't even worth the bother with a low population.
  3. hehe no problem in case anyone is wondering what happened to the lancaster, here are the changes: maximum energy has been greatly increased bullet velocity has been greatly increased bomb shrapnel has been slightly increased weapon/special energy cost has been reduced recharge rate has been slightly reduced to compensate bullet rate of fire has been slightly reduced overall maneuverability has been reduced this pretty much means that the lancaster is much more powerful inside of a base, but the low maneuverability still limits it in open areas. It has lots of energy but can still be easily overwhelmed by numerous enemies.

  6. ...umm... it seems to me like she already made up her mind <_<
  7. the safe zones in bases are in the front anyways, and it's very easy to move back to accommodate enemies hiding in them. If an enemy gets as far as the central safes in sector 6... well, then that's your own fault for letting him in so far. Besides, there are six bases without safety zones; you can simply choose to use one of them. The only current annoyance that I know of players hiding in base safety zones is if they afk there and leave antiwarp on. Hopefully this can be solved with a special module though
  8. actually originally, there used to be only one equation regardless of the amount of ships you have; and that was equal to the current multiple ship formula. The single ship formula was suggested as a means to help newbies gain more money. So technically it wasn't the multiple ship formula that was added, it was the single ship formula. As in the analogy, the billionaire would get paid the same, and it would be the McDonald's worker being paid $100 an hour . I'm not saying there aren't any flaws to the current system, though. Maybe it will get altered when the new item system comes in , but until then, I doubt realistically that any changes will be made on it.

    An Idea

I don't like the equipping items idea; it pretty much just allows people to buy 1 item, and circulate it around for all their ships, making it too easy to get good ships, since they'd only actually be buying an item once, but would be able to use it for all of their ships. The interactive market idea is interesting, but with the new item system, it's probably best left out.

    Trash talk

lol that's probably how "Pwn" started, as a misspelling of "own" soon before we all know it, everyone's going to be like "STFY!!"

    Suicide

I think the suicide he's referring to is the ability to kill yourself with a closebomb, rather than a self-destruct button. The closebomb suicide would be interesting for certain styles of arenas.

I don't see how it could hurt; as long as it doesn't take up more than one line, you can just ignore what you don't want to see
  15. lol well the bullets are supposed to be lasers, so for more realism, I shrunk the bullet graphic down to the same size as its trail. I would make the trail bigger, but I've tried multiple times and the only results I've gotten were a messed up energy bar ; of course if anybody is master with the lvz, please enlighten me on how to make bullet trails bigger than 1 pixel EDIT: Actually I'm replacing blue lasers with red lasers, hopefully that'll solve the problem

yes, that would be a problem if the minimum money remaining for giving is $1000, but it would be impossible to create an account and transfer the initial money if the minimum money that must be owned to be able to give is increased accordingly

It's true that ship3's bullets eat up a lot of energy' date=' but they also inflict a lot of damage. Ship3 with red bullets is slightly more powerful than yellow bullets on some other ships. Putting l3 guns on ship3 makes it deal an incredible amount of damage in a very short amount of time if all of the bullets hit. In this respect I think guns are balanced for ship3. But yeah, I agree with you in that everyone has l1 guns and that no one likes using the higher level guns, and I'll try to think of some way of making the higher level guns more practical for use. Personally, I think that newbies should start with something around $5K or $10K at most so that they can get used to the items more easily, and have some money to fall back on if they buy the wrong stuff for their ship. A potential problem would be having newbies upgrade too early, but with the amount of $5K, they would only start off with 3-5 bounty ships, which wouldn't hurt their kill money that badly (since most people who start off are oblivious to the wonders of 1 bty ships anyways and would start upgrading as soon as they have the money).

    Lag coma

unfortunately, it seems as if lag comas do exist. Just as I'm writing this, the zone population has grown to about 17 people, and the lag coma has followed. Although not nearly as rampant as before (even with a double population), the bug unfortunately still does exist. For some reason I cannot upload my screenshots, but in-game, I have pm-ed myself and have seen the message only once. In addition I've seen several 0-bty ships stuck in the center safe. On the plus side, our squad won't have to die yet

actually, just screw dialup, go for broadband I'm not sure how expensive it is there in NZ, but where I am, getting a cable modem (Cox Roadrunner) is only about twice as expensive per month as dialup (America Online) but about 5 to 10 times faster. Broadband is actually cheaper for me than dialup, since I do a lot of high-bandwidth stuff

    People?

well I never said it was a British misspelling; I only meant that the extra "u" was part of British English. But yeah, you know how we Americans are

  25. To be a little more specific: The warbird will be a very energy efficient vessel. It also boasts a high top speed, high rotation speed, and high acceleration. Also, with its decent recharge rate, it is perfectly suited for fighting out in the open at close or medium ranges. Unfortunately it lacks raw energy, however, and is terrible at taking hits inside of a base. The javelin, in contrast to the warbird, is adept at fighting only at far ranges. It is capable of launching bombs at astronomical speeds, and can easily decimate opponents before they are even aware of the impending danger. The weaknesses of the javelin, however, include a low top speed, and poor energy and recharge. The spider will have very fast-firing and powerful guns, and a high recharge rate to feed them. In comparison to its recharge rate, its maximum energy is much less. Also, it's very sluggish, and is prey for just about any ship in open combat. The leviathan in contrast to the spider will have a very fast bomb fire rate. Its bombs not only deal extra damage, but also bounce off of walls. Slow weapons velocity and low top speed make it difficult for the leviathan to engage any enemy in open combat. The terrier is a mix of all ships, a good balance of all the advantages of the other ships. In addition to decent energy, recharge, and maneuverability, it features very deadly guns and EMP bombs. Although it can perform any task well, it will be outclassed by the warbird in terms of speed, the spider with guns, the leviathan with bombs, and the weasel with technology. The weasel's biggest strength is its state-of-the-art technology. Its radar can pick up enemy mines as well as bombs. Its guns fire both quickly and furiously. Its bombs are charged with EMP, can bounce off of walls, and have the most shrapnel of any ship. Its afterburners even rival the rockets of other ships. Unfortunately, due to excessive computer and electronic equipment, its hull has been repeatedly narrowed down to accomodate for this, and takes hits very poorly. The lancaster has even more defense. With a substantially increased recharge rate and energy, it is very difficult to be destroyed by a solo pilot. With powerful thrusters, it is able to easily weave through even the tightest of bases. An otherwise low maneuverability, however, makes it an easy target for being overwhelmed and attrited. The shark's power lies not in combat, but in scouting abilities. It uses the very same sensors as the weasel, and can see bombs and mines. It also has a very powerful gravity drive and is the most maneuverable of any of the ships. Able to even carry the powerball longer than the other ships can, the shark is a great support/reconnaissance ship. Unfortunately, the hull is the weakest of any ship, and is simply unable to withstand enemy fire. In a pinch though, the shark is a very viable cloaker ship. Note: these settings are not finished, and are subject to change. This post will be edited should any changes occur.
