Note that there were six nearly identical messages sent within a 4 minute period of time. It was clearly a coordinated effort. [Aug 22 22:06] can i have a hug?: hi x wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you stop hiding and tell him [Aug 22 22:07] BELLEND: hi x wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you stop hiding and tell him [Aug 22 22:08] wO: hi x wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you stop hiding and tell him [Aug 22 22:08] Betemoth: hi x wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you stop hiding and tell him you racist !@#$%^&* [Aug 22 22:09] MaRBReD: hi x wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you stop hiding and tell him [Aug 22 22:10] Audry: hi x`ter wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you answer his pm and tell him If this was done via real-time cross-zone messaging by a single person switching through 6 aliases over the span of 4 minutes, it would very likely be netbannable. X has cleverly avoided this by using ?messages instead of real-time cross-zone messages, and by actually recruiting 6 buddies to do his dirty work for him, rather than doing it himself using 6 aliases. X may have cir!@#$%^&*vented netban rules, but certainly I'm not going to let this get in the way of local 'punishment', as such. (Not that local bans affected X and his buddies much, since they never normally play SWE anyway, but at least this way there's some record of their re!@#$%^&*ed efforts.) If the messages weren't so similar in structure and content, and if they hadn't all been sent within a 4 minute period of time, it wouldn't have been an issue. Finally, I find it very ironic (and somewhat funny) that you guys are accusing me of unfairly placing bans against some of you, nevermind the fact that the bans were all of short duration and most of them have already expired. This despite the fact that one of you has placed a yearlong ban against me in said person's zone for no reason at all besides the fact that said person doesn't like me. Just imagine if I returned the favor. Why, if I were to do that (which I won't, since I'm more mature than that), you guys would probably rant so much about my power 'abuse' that SSF would explode. At this point I feel everything that needs to be said has been said at least once (and in many cases, more than once), so I will take my leave of this steaming pile of bull!@#$%^&* at this point.

Lie more. The bans weren't removed. Also, I've never, ever seen you and your re!@#$%^&*ed gang play in SWE. You were probably just attempting to make a false point, and drafted your buddies to spend some time in SWE to illustrate your 'value' to the zone. Seriously, not everyone is as stupid as you appear to be.

Irrelevant. [Aug 22 22:06] can i have a hug?: hi x wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you stop hiding and tell him [Aug 22 22:07] BELLEND: hi x wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you stop hiding and tell him [Aug 22 22:08] wO: hi x wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you stop hiding and tell him [Aug 22 22:08] Betemoth: hi x wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you stop hiding and tell him you racist !@#$%^&* [Aug 22 22:09] MaRBReD: hi x wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you stop hiding and tell him [Aug 22 22:10] Audry: hi x`ter wants to know why he's banned for 24 days randomly, so how about you answer his pm and tell him The facts beg to differ. There were posts which indicated that random people have entered SWE and promptly gotten banned for no reason at all. There were also posts which indicated that the above has been a common occurrence in SWE. Thank you for ceding the point.

I agree with most everything in the above. Although, I'm not so sure I'd consider her "fairly attractive" - I think she's pretty average-looking for a 40-something year old, honestly.

Personally, I haven't noticed any significant decrease in traffic to either World Discussion or Spam Lounge. World Discussion hasn't been as active recently as it has been in the past, but it reached its current activity level before it was made into a subboard.

(I figure posting in this thread is fine now that PoL has entered it. ) Let's review the facts, shall we? > I made a local (SWE) copy of a yearlong MG ban. X`terrania then coordinated a group cross-zone har!@#$%^&*ment effort. > I placed short-duration (2-day-long) local (SWE) bans against the participants in said har!@#$%^&*ment effort. massive amounts of crying and whining ensued here. > I placed a few additional short-duration local bans for some whiny posts attacking SWE here. More crying and whining ensued here. > Purge, a SSForum.net Moderator, closed the thread to stop said crying and whining. X`terrania then promptly started a new thread to continue said crying and whining. [sarcasm]Yeah, I'm obviously the one making mountains out of molehills.[/sarcasm]
-
I agree with Purge. I also want to thank Purge for closing the other thread. While I understand that cir!@#$%^&*venting a thread closure by starting a new thread to continue the closed thread is typically frowned upon at SSForum.net, I also understand that this is the Spam Lounge. In any case, I, at least, will respect Purge's decision, and will bow out of this thread starting now.

Who did I bug? I don't even know who the staff (aside from the sysops) are in SN. Heck, I hardly ever visited SN. I hadn't been in SN for quite some time as well when the ban was placed, so take that smack and stuff it. The behavior in question was not netbannable, however it was certainly locally bannable.
-
SWE has been attacked as well in this thread. As for the group har!@#$%^&*ment effort, that took place in game. No, you seem to be confusing me with L Y N X and SN. It involves SWE when the whole incident started in game because of a SWE ban placed against X`terrania (refer to my previous post for details), continued in game with a group har!@#$%^&*ment effort coordinated by X`terrania, and finally continued in this forum. Yes, and they are employed when appropriate. Silencing and speclocking hardly work cross-zone, now do they? Besides, offenses committed by SWE players are almost always treated with more leniency, as these players have contributed positively to SWE by playing in it. None of you (again with the exception of CRe>) have contributed anything positive to SWE; your only interest in it has been in attacking it.

While I'm flattered that you apparently think that I'm incapable of making mistakes, the truth is I am only human, and making mistakes is part of being human. Shut the !@#$%^&* up.

I wouldn't usually respond to ban 'appeals' in threads like this, but I'll make an exception this time. One does not need to actually enter a zone in order to violate zone rules via such antics as cross-zone har!@#$%^&*ment or advertising other zones in said zone's official chat channels (antics which may not always be netbannable but may certainly be locally bannable). You were banned for 2 days on 08/24 for participating in X`terrania's re!@#$%^&*ed group har!@#$%^&*ment effort, You were banned for another 2 days on 08/27 for various reasons, the most prominent of which was your antics in this thread. L Y N X was banned for 3 days for his collective efforts against SWE - including starting this thread, but also including various other incidents. (Yes, this thread initially didn't involve SWE, but it was patently obvious from the beginning, given the nature of this thread, that SWE would get drawn into the mix sooner rather than later.) All of this is per SWE ban policy, which calls for a "1-3 day ban" for violation of the "respect" rule. Personally I would have preferred placing longer bans against some of you, but instead I placed bans of only 2 or 3 days in accordance with SWE ban policy. Also note that SWE ban policy was a collective product of SWE staff, and that this exact same policy has been in place - untouched, unedited, unmodified - for over 5 months now. As for why I placed bans of 2 or 3 days instead of bans of 1 day, SWE ban policy only specifies a "1-3 day ban" and leaves the exact duration to the judgment of the operator. One of the factors I use in determining ban length is whether the player in question has contributed positively to the zone in the past. Another factor is whether the player in question is likely to continue the objectionable behavior in question in the future. None of you, except for CRe>, have contributed positively to the zone in the past. All of you seem quite likely to continue your re!@#$%^&*ed behavior in the future. (Before X starts whining again, as I know he will: In X`terrania's case, he was banned for 2 days for violating the "respect" rule. The remainder of his ban pertains to a local copy of a yearlong MG ban for IRL har!@#$%^&*ment as well as various other incidents of har!@#$%^&*ment.)

His netban is old news. See netbans #2513, #2391, and #2351. Which were over today. Look again kiddo. And its SWE Ban #50. Get your facts straight. #50 was a local ban placed to block your (chronic) netban evasion. It seems I miscalculated the ban length by 3 days when placing #50. The error has now been fixed. My apologies for any inconveniences. Haha! !@#$%^&*o, all! My name is X`terrania! I have no life!

Perhaps you forgot, but you're netbanned. That's why you can't enter SWE. I didn't ban anyone who came into SWE last night. I only ban people who violate zone rules. If I were actually an abuser, I'd have permabanned a whole bunch of people, including X`terrania, from the zone.

No, this is a clear example of re!@#$%^&*ed behavior. If you (and I'm using this 'you' generically, not referring to anyone in particular) don't like me, why the !@#$%^&* would you even visit my personal website or my personal forum, much less register at my personal forum? Geez, it's not like I'm asking or inviting any of you to register. The accusation that I set up a personal forum, which I did not publicly advertise or promote, in order to collect passwords is, frankly, ludicrous, and if anyone seriously believes that accusation, they would have to be about as dumb as slime mold.
-
Heya Masa! Nice to hear from you. Hope to see you around!
-
Who is leaking the information anyway? And hardly 'everyone' is banned from SWE. Despite what your chronically swelled head may think, you and your merry band of !@#$%^&*heads does not cons!@#$%^&*ute or represent 'everyone'.

He registered as Xnyl (which is clearly Lynx spelled backwards; maybe he thought spelling his name backwards would make him look cool or something). I changed his username to Lynx, and because of that change, SMF 1.1.5 automatically reset his password. Later, I saw this thread, and decided to remove his account as a result. My decision had nothing to do with Lynx changing his password. I never touched his password. Next time, when you don't know what you're talking about, keep your mouth shut for your own good. You only end up making yourself look foolish. Glad you agree.
-
I haven't looked (and won't look) at anyone's passwords. Nor did I specifically give myself any 'right' to look at user passwords. My personal forum is a standard installation of SMF 1.1.5. User passwords are encrypted and stored automatically by SMF, but since (in the case of my personal forum) they are stored, along with most other forum data, in my personal MySQL database, I could theoretically retrieve them and possibly decrypt them (I wouldn't know for sure as I have never tried to do so). So it becomes a matter of trust. I do what I do to help the game. Whether you !@#$%^&*holes believe that or not, at least consider the fact that I don't start re!@#$%^&*ed threads, eh?
-
Ya, thanks for agreeing.

Thanks. You might wanna save those gyrations for your boyfriend, though.

Naw. I was just pointing out that cir!@#$%^&*venting a simple IP block is hardly something worth bragging about. Do you really think I expected a simple IP block to keep you from viewing my forum as a guest? I didn't even block an IP range. Considering that that's my personal forum, I can do whatever I !@#$%^&* well please on it. Because I can do whatever I !@#$%^&* well please on my personal forum.
-
It is so easy to cir!@#$%^&*vent that simple block that using Tor to do so is actually a waste of effort. And what, in fact, makes no sense is you starting this thread to laugh at automatically generated emails. Did I ask any of you !@#$%^&*heads to register? No. That's my personal forum, so if you don't trust me, stay the !@#$%^&* out. See what I wrote above. Additionally, why the !@#$%^&* would any of you idiots want to send PMs via my personal forum?
