I think that's false actually. As Hakaku has stated, doc had plenty of support for his project but he himself put a serious damper on the enthusiasm by warning people not to distribute it, cautioning that there might be serious bugs in it, and advising that people should exercise a high amount of caution with his installer. And to be sure, I was always, until now, under the impression that he was still working on it to turn out a safe, bug-free product. I had no clue he axed it. I think that is a good strategy for certain ideas but for most others I really do not see the necessity of consulting with Ghost Ship in particular or the Council in general before undertaking development. There's such a thing as too much consulting and planning and too little actual work. Snrrrub's case above is a prime example of this.
