  1. I am sure many people who upload do not know what C2S is. Anyway, this issue seems to ba taken care of.
  2. Are you actually adding in any comments? The comments field seems way too small. Comments are a very important thing! Cool that you are able to develop now, hehe
  3. Another evening well spent... now go and use up a month on this. Do not develop DCME, do this.
  4. This is definitely caused by faulty hardware (power supply, video card, sound card, memory, network card, CPU or motherboard) or buggy drivers for them.
  5. This can indeed be caused by putfile or uploading a file to a zone.
  6. It means there was a connection error and the packets "got stuck" and the connection had to be terminated.
  7. And are you experiencing any network issues? Why are you posting it here? (Also, the big loss is fine. Just a measurement error)

So, like, how is Deva? I never see anyone on when I pop in

    Especially not Windows.
  10. XP has built-in styles. It is literally as fast as no styles. There is only a tiny memory footprint. The time of WindowBlinds is over, muhahaha. Yea, that was a horrible computer abuser. StyleXP does nothing but tell XP what style to use.

To answer the last question, some other program !@#$%^&*ed something up. Or the user lied about not messing with settings
  12. Yea, what Hak said. A trace of at least 100 cycles is needed for it to be useful. 400 is extra nice. The most likely cause of this is just some random network disturbance. They happen now and then. It will probably go away in a few days or maybe weeks (or maybe months ).
  13. Meh, I love it And I'm not so sure about all Americans knowing what proof is
  14. Oh yeah? When was the last DCME release? But yeah, it is good to have some people who do not have lives We need more of them. Unfortunately they seem to get busy with school and get a "semi-life". Like you!!!

Corrupted files? I have never in my over 10 years of computer experience had a program stop working because a file got corrupted. I'm sure it happens now and then but I consider it extremely rare. Actually, programs rarely refuse to work for me. And if they do, it is usually because they are just badly made and not compatible with something. Just like Continuum is often not compatible with security software.
  16. I never had any security issues with IE. It just had bad usability bugs. I only have one complaint about FF: it seems to have some kind of delay of unresponsivness (2-3 seconds) after opening a tab. Probably some extension. I have never encountered the bug under discussion here.
  17. A generic game engine has more merit but for the core to be genuinely extensible, it still needs a lot of work. A good generic core would probably take more effort than cloning Continuum. I thought about such a generic core a lot a few years ago but I reached the conclusion that it is quite complex, even just the core. It could not be done by one person.

Continuum is not an average program. I doubt reinstalling it would ever fix anything. It's worth a try, of course, but it is not something I will ever suggest, since I do not think it is of any use in this case.
  19. Umm... okey. If that is what you meant, I have even less hope for this. You cannot expect someone to half-!@#$%^&*edly code some parts and just "do a little bit". Everything needs to be coordinated, refactored, tested and adjusted hamoniously. Having 25 people do 25 tiny parts is useless - they will have totally different styles and would not ever agree on anything and would share no vision. Also, you expect newbie coders to start doing this? Because there's no way you'll find enough good coders to do "small bits each".
  20. It could also be random network disturbance. It happens. Can take up to a month or two to go away. I once had 25% loss for 3 months
  21. I second that about n.exe Here's my @work desktop: (The text says: I see you! You are not working!)
  22. Perhaps we should make this "Favourite alcoholic drinks for consumption while playing Continuum"? Anyway... Absinthe (70-% vol goodness) (straight) Flavoured vodka (straight) Martini Rosso/Rose (straight) Margarita (a very specific kind; nobody makes it in Estonia) Becherovska (a herb liquour) passoa + sprite (very light) Cider (carbonated, 5% vol type) (I have not seen this in most of Europe - is this known at all?) (1% vol is 2 proof for you dumb Americans)
  23. Well, first of all, you still need a good coding team. Although I do understand that you are just probing the waters here. Still, I see little hope. Newbies can be useful but they come in when the core is already there. A professional coder team is needed. I cannot imagine any skilled coder taking this effort seriously unless they were full-time paid employees. They will not be motivated by anything. Well, I guess the only hope is to find some die hard self-sacrificing fan. A non-discovered coder. I do not know of any die hard fan coders PS. OpenSVN is as slow as a bucket on slow-motion slow-fuel. I tried it for 2 days and stopped using it very soon PS. Apache, I saw nothing that needed a reply there.
