Do a trace of 500 cycles and post it here. Maybe that will shed some light on this. (To do a trace, just click the trace button in Continuum and wait until the cycle count is 500)

Basically it says that data is having a very hard time reaching your computer. It could be some random network fluke. Indeed, 95% of the time, that is exactly what these problems are. Just wait it out. It could take a while... Or maybe not. Can other computers on the same link play Continuum? If yes, it is some computer issue.

Trace looks perfectly fine, I can see no problems. Those two are measurement errors.

That stopping-after-7-hop is normal. Sometimes happens when routers are configured in a certain way. Nothing bad. Sounds like some general network issues. These sometimes come and go. Just wait it out.

There is a nice FAQ topic !@#$%^&*led something like "What exactly is lag?" that explains this. In summary, it is just a random glitch in the networking system and does no harm (although servers sometimes kick you for it).

I have never seen a dxdiag test fail, actually Anyway... well... play in windowed mode Or try updated drivers. Try older drivers, too.

Perhaps it does, perhaps it does not. But this trace does not show any issues and even if it did, it could not be taken seriously because it is only 2 cycles. So one can only guess that it might be hopone issues. Guesses are OK but you have to clearly mark them so. Also, proxies are not a solution. I appreciate your help here - do not misunderstand - but just have to point out that your offered solution was not a very good one and that the trace does not indicate any problems. You might be right on what is causing the issue, of course.

That kind of negative packetloss could also come from screwed up drivers. It could also be a wonky router. A VERY worky router. Did it just start on its own? It might just go away in a week or two, when the administrator of the router is notified. But maybe it is drivers. Go to control panel and open up network connections. Go into the properties for your connection and check that nothing is listed twice in the listbox "The connection uses the following items".

No! ZigNotZag is completely wrong. 1) The trace is useless, because it is too short. Do a trace and let it sit for at least 100-200 cycles. The more, the better. 2) Hopone probably isn't doing anything bad. 3) Do not use a proxy. Ever. (Playing by proxy is very difficult to set up - you probably don't even have a proxy and such. Proxies should never even be attempted to be used without explicit supervision.)

Trace seems perfect. Is the game smooth or jumpy at times? Maybe a driver is messed up...

OMFG I am using Firefox! And I like it (this time). For now. Why did I give FF another try? Not because of some philosophical crap - I happen to passionately hate open source software. Just because one little tiny bug in IE pissed me off. IE refused to load a page. It did not even connect. Opening another browser window worked fine. But that one window refused to connect to a page. !@#$%^&* that. 10 or so extensions and a better looking theme (99% of the gallery sucked - the free software world is so incredibly bad on usability and design, which means it has low quality useless crap). Actually, I only use it at work. I have not had time to clone it over to home (I am not going to look those 10 extensions up again and search for the only good-looking theme again...). Will do on Monday.
