My reaction to the first post was "Great, now everyone can have all these files locally." So I decided to get started with making little sub-archives of maps, tiles, repels, bullets, ect.. When I tried to download them I was disappointed that A) The files have been taken down. That there's been such an argument about it and C) That legal threats were made concerning files that were authored by hundreds of people. I'll leave it up to those who know me to understand where I stand on this issue, as this thread is obviously not the place for constructive communication. I will suggest this: (and this is just off the top of my head) A torrent file containing all the content of SSDL should be on the SSDL site. This way it's not hosted on the server and the downloaders can actually check/uncheck what they do/don't want to download.

Just realized I made this post. I'd still like to see this happen. Shouldn't be too hard.. We have SSCA Subspace Dev. which is ASSS. So we can create a Usergroup with said commands.

That's pretty cool although I don't like when people touch TW's public base and modify it. It's really perfect. Check out some TW bases I made. ?go kryn, kryn2, kryn3, maybe a kryn4. In my opinion Vetta's base is ready-to-go. No problems I can see, good job, and nice tiling.

Aileron is right that theirs many contributors and factors, and I respect his ability to look at a bigger picture. Life just has too many people with opposing views. It's like tossing 7 billion marbles and expecting them all to travel in a single straight line, it's not going to happen under these terms of reality. Maybe that was a bad analogy, but the point is that there will always be world issues, there will always be threads in this forum.

Thanks for clearing that up, then again I should have looked it up. Happy to hear the Big Brother isn't actual gov. cameras. That would be messed up.

Isn't there a comedy show 'Big Brother UK'? Is that actually government cameras?

I know what he's saying. Everything is everything. Really vague way of putting it though. It's circular theory. Contradictions. Life as we know it is full of contradiction. I contradict myself and so does everyone else. Life is a big contradiction, as you try to understand things they become obscured. Much like, looking at the ground inches away from your face, it's chaotic and has no uniform pattern, but if you 'zoom out' and look at the planet, it's a circle, it travels in a predictable circle. When you zoom out, things become predictable, when you zoom in they become chaotic. We're in the age of dualism. Up and down, left and right, happy and sad, night and day. Contradictions of life are hard to explain and easy to forget, esoteric. Which is why discussions about such things are very difficult. Religious texts are full of them, but that's alright because, so are we. So many people in history have fought for social justice and ultimately lost their souls and settled for power. Contradiction on a deep level. So many go to church and then commit immoral, borderline evil acts. (I believe it is evil if you know you are doing wrong but choose to anyway.) Contradiction. Ahh screw it, contradictions are too hard to explain. Contradiction.

i love the minibase, because who wants to fly to a sector base to have a 2vs2 with flags. i think it needs to be redone. i made a new one, didn't submit it though. minibase is horrible right now because it has a safety zone and only a few hallways. needs to be at least 7 hallways and remove the safe
