Before you jump to conclusions you had best be better informed. First nowhere was it stated what any of our religious affiliations are with, and as I have been baptized episcopal I have not one day in my life gone to church for mass I've gone for weddings, and I was there for a baptism or two. What I speak to you (as in everyone on these forums) about is not from a religious standpoint in any way. The reason why I don't go to church is because I don't personally agree with what the christian church teaches, and with their past actions. I am coming from a mere political standpoint. I've never once mentioned anything criticizing or even concerning their religion, except for the ways the followers of the religion are reacting concerning said comments made towards/against their religion. So before you go off and criticize me for something, you had better do a little more research. If you disagree with my statements, don't try to attack me, defend your beliefs. And on a third point, what the christians did in the middle ages is irrelevant to what the topic is about. If you want to discuss problems with the christian church, then start your own topic about it. Pulling up something that happened over a dozen centuries ago, to justify something the Muslims are doing now is just plain silly. And lastly what makes you think that you know so much about american education and or broadcasting? Unless you are in fact an expert on the matter, then I do apologize. Concerning the islamic religion, I have not seen one, now this is me personally, not one broadcast concerning any such thing. And I cannot attest for all parts of the country, but I was educated in NY, and I have read history books from dozens of countries, not just in my college education either. I have been versed on much concerning other countries cultures, politics and religion. So to with a narrow mind, categorize me and a drone of the "american TV" is yet again unsounded. Before you try to criticize and or insult, be sure of who you are trying to engage.

Well note the fact that the 17th parallel was designed around the concept of the actual 17th parallel geographically, and it was a north vs south nam-style combat.

all I can say to that is: Rofl.

Honestly who cares what family you are born into, as a human being you have the right to make your own choices. Some decisions are harder to make than others, and most people just don't have the strength to make the hard ones. And I love your first para conf. Well put. And as for them, I did not mean it to be the muslim people, I meant it to be the people who are saying they are behind. Be careful what you try to dissect in my posts. I should have posted: As for the Muslims, they can try to say the Muslim people are "behind" in the world. I apologize that I posted that while I was at work and made a single typo.

It's always safer to walk through and occupied city. It doesn't matter if they are just following the lead or making the decisions themselves, they are still commiting the acts. Yes I think its a travesty when americans kill other americans, but honestly the only people that effects are AMERICAN people! What the muslims are doing are effecting people from dozens of countries. If they were just killing themselves I would have no problem, I'd say let them have it! But the fact that they are killing or attacking christians, not even for what they have done, but for what the pope has said is just appalling. I almost agree with apache.

The only problem with that comparison is that the deaths in the U.S. are not against other groups within America for the point of proving a point, or in protest of another group. I mean there are a very very few. Even after 9/11, there were a very small amount of actual violence against the muslim people, and or their temples. And as for your statistics, the chances of YOU getting shot walking through the wrong hood is slim to none. You might get attacked, or beat up for your wallet, but the overwhelming majority of murders happen between people who know each other, and are either gang/problem related in these neighborhoods. And by sheer numbers we might have more deaths, but % we are well below. Iraq population - 26,074,906 America - 295,734,134 Of course we have more deaths in our country. And of course we have a higher death rate as you have a country with that many more people, its bound to happen. Also inciting that the "baby boom" generation is starting to die off, so that our death rate has been overtly high over the past 5 years.

the pope apologized before violence started happening. As for the Muslims, they can try to say they are "behind" in the world. And some of their countries might be. But for the majority that is bull !@#$%^&*. Just because you don't have flat panel televisions, or sexually explicit television shows, does not mean you are not aware of common humanitarian conduct exhibited amongst a large amount of the worlds major countries. They choose to be this way, it is not ignorance that makes them so.
-
But centuries ago, that actually helped your cause. In the modern world, violence like that specially homicide is no way to conduct your concerns or anger.
-
Ok I'm sure you have all been keeping track of whats been going on with Pope Benedict and the Muslim culture. And I will state first and foremost, I don't agree with what the pope has done, or what he is doing. But sofar a Nun and her body guard have been murdered, muslim authorities are not positive, but they strongly believe it is in relation to the pope's conduct, and churches are being attacked with fire bombs and the like. So why are the muslim people so fast to resort to violence? There are many ways to protest without leading to physical, or monitary violence. So why is it that it seems like the first course of action the Muslim people take. Note: I do not mean all muslim people, as a good majority are doing good protests, and non violent means. So remember that my term "Muslim people" refers only to the Muslims commiting these acts, not them all as a whole.

Also we rebuilt japan after the war, and gave them the money and resources to build their current economy. People are money hungry, they can forgive us for killing so many if the price is right, and it was.

Maybe its just me, but a country that is known as your nemesis is possibly trying to arm themselves with nuclear weapons...yeah I'll just stand in line to support that country...sure thing... And as I've stated before, no matter how much anything has for either side there is a POSSIBILITY that they are working for nuclear weapons, along with the possibility that they might not be. Either way I don't want to start glowing anytime soon, so I don't mind my government taking extreme, possibly excessive precautions to protect me. I <3 protection. Small weapons of m!@#$%^&* destruction wielding country. Sorry got added onto my last post lol.

You are right about public. I've been saying that for years, you need to have a strong pub and strong events/leagues. There must be a balance as the zone cannot rely on just one or the other. But what I think emb is saying is that he feels that our public is strong enough at the moment and that he wants to work more on events, that he feels are weaker atm. I think our pub is attractive enough, if you have enough players playing at once. But thats the key, if you have enough players, and I believe emb is trying to use events to draw and keep players in the zone for longer periods of time so that pub can grow off of it. Just my outtake on emb's actions.

I think the whole point of trying to prove who's more powerful is so that noone else will want to attack you. I mean normally that would be a reason to have a strong army.
-
The hardest part will be to keep putting up QUALITY events on a timeframe. Remember back when pern instated her "freaky friday" same kinda idea, just a new pub map every week, all of a sudden all they had was !@#$%^&*ty pub maps, and then it stopped all together. Maybe give each event more than one shot to see if people like/dislike it. I mean if they hate it, get rid of it right away, but playing it once in a month and then having to vote on if you like it or not is kinda hard to do. Maybe try to schedule it twice a week, for 2 weeks. Give people a taste of how the event runs. Then move on to the next. I can see introducing 2 new events in a month, but 4 is kinda hard, even for the first month. Remember...baby steps...baby steps... Overall not a bad idea.

The problem is noone wants to give up that kind of power, and even if we all said we did, we'd all be hiding them somewhere. So publically we might not have any left anywhere, but secretly, they'd be still around.

You realize that you will never be able to destroy all nukes. Its an idealistic notion.

PETA sheds no crocodile tears for Steve Irwin

I support PETA fully. People for the Eating of Tasty Animals Thats my PETA! -
First off, unless you are the mistress of the iranian president NO ONE, AND I REPEAT NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT IRAN'S NUCLEAR POWER FOR CERTAIN!!!! I mean honestly, you have your sources, we have our sources. You think yours are more credible. We believe ours to be more credible. The problem is you're right that we're not going to agree with you and sever. The whole point of a political debate is not to conform others ideas. It is to express your own. So if you are speaking to conform our ideas, then I believe you should stop posting now. Just because I disagree with sever's viewpoint, does not mean I think any less of him. Same with you. Just try to keep that in mind, in a point like this where there is obviously no wrong or right, no black or white, don't try to conform others ideas, just support your own.

Any man willing to drive a car loaded with explosives into a civilian area, exploding them and himself, or fly a plane full of civilians, into a civilian building, or (insert many more examples), is just beyond reasoning.

Actually we had over 30 and the best part is it was with only 5 or 6 hours notice

The problem is with the united states is exaclty what you said about the draft. When 9/11 happened in the us, there was talk of a draft, kinda as a passing rumor, but over half of the people I knew, men and women said they'd flee to canada before they'd stand up and fight for their country. And it wasn't just because they didn't believe or disbelieve in what they'd be fighting for. I think the majority of americans have become womanized, and I don't want to sound sexist in that, just using a stereotypical phrase. People are afraid to fight for themselves or their country. They love to hide behind the government, and then turn around and criticize that very same government. Its a rediculous shame. The official death count of US soldiers since 9/11 in the middle east is 2999 (according to cnn). that is a very very small number. Think about the thousands we've lost in other wars and campaigns. But people want to hide around the governments protection, and then yell at them for how they do it. I mean honestly, if the Bush administration had not begun things in the middle east they would to this day be under constant scrutiny from National affairs as to "why they're doing nothing to stop this terrorism" Its the biggest !@#$%^&*ing catch 22 in the book. Although I am one, I have a huge issue with how a large part of the american citizens carry themselves. Its like they forgot how hard our forefathers fought for everything we have. If there was a draft tomorrow, and my name was called, I'd be the first in line, with no regrets.

Every country has reasons for half the world to hate them. !@#$%^&* look at Germany, according to your thinking all of europe should still hate and loathe germany. We should still hate japan, I mean after all they did bomb pearl harbor. I'm not saying that there are not countries who should dislike us, but cmon no one, nor any country is perfect. I could sit here and dissect all of the other countries, but it just isn't worth my time.

First off, note the 3 events he brought up, were all attacks attempted, or made on civilian people. Thus making it not an act of war, thus what else is the world supposed to call it? Second, I am an american, and !@#$%^&* I fully support protecting my country. When it comes down to it, I could care less if we go in and wipe half the god!@#$%^&* world off the map. Because as long as my !@#$%^&* stays safe, thats my major concern. No I lied, I do care about other countries, as we all rely on each other for so much. But honestly, the UN has declared, not the United states, that Iran should desist any nuclear experimentation for the time being. A direct quote from the iranian president says he feels they should have the rights to nuclear weapons. As an american I fully support them not having nuclear bombs to send at us. Honestly as the guys above said, its not black and white, right and wrong, but honestly most of what you said in my opinion, is just unsounded and full of more anti-american/bushism, than facts. I'll be the first to admit that bush has plenty of faults, but he is our president, and always doing what he feels is the best for our country, I feel that he deserves some moderation of respect for doing that at least. One thing you can't take away from him is that he loves our country. And if the UN told the United states to disarm our nuclear weapons, I'd bet you'd be the first in line to see that happen. Maybe you guys can help me with the whole Anti-america syndrome. I have no less respect for any country, or its leader(s), but the rest of the world seems to hate america. Yeah we're far from perfect, but so are all of you. We're no better than you, and you're no better than us. We're all people. Thats what I love most about these forums I love hearing your opinions and views. I just hate when I see such seeming biased views posted based of the animosity of a country and or governing body.
