  1. Open Continuum, select "Proxy Options" and uncheck the part that says "Enable SOCKS5 Proxy Server". If you can't open Continuum's main interface at all, you'll have to provide more details about your specs then that.
  2. I think it's senseless to start debating about the ASSS article as of yet, there's barely anything on that page (and much of the rest). It's a wiki, so you can edit it and try to improve it; you can't necessarily expect everything to be perfect when it's first created. Besides providing more concrete examples though, we should try to cite (external) sources where possible, but the only problem is that you can't add inline references since the feature hasn't been implemented. I'm hoping someone will consider adding this soon, since bibliographies aren't that useful, and adopting MLA would just be ugly.
  3. Although I did get them mixed up (Maur and X`terr), I still don't support this ban. It makes me feel like I'm in Tibet, where information is being repressed, until a third party comes along and makes a big scene out of it.
  4. I actually disagree with both Sama and Cancer+. This is a wiki, based upon Wikipedia, "an online encyclopedia where everyone is free to contribute and edit". Although they have a history between them (X`terr and Root), making edits should not be considered a ban-justifiable offense. There was no sign of an edit war, and if you dislike the edits, use the "undo" feature provided in the History section and either mark the reason in the comment box, or add a comment to the "Talk" page of either that specific article or the other user's Talk page. Yes, because these are player pages, it's a very touchy subject, and things are bound to become subjective. That's the primary reason why Wikipedia itself enforces a 'neutral point of view'. - On top of that, articles that are subjected to vandalism can be protected, and this wiki should also have that feature available to administrators. So there's no justifying becoming nazis and banning users over their own point of view unless they make countless number of edits that are purposely disruptive, or defamatory. Sorry, but I don't have respect for those who don't abide by their own rules. For the above reason, is why I'd rather not create an article about myself.

    2012

I've actually seen a few different things that lead to the end of 'humanity' in 2012; one of the most prominent ideas is the end of the world according to both Mayan and Hopi mythology, but other peoples also believe(d) in something similar was to happen in 2012 (Egyptians, Kabbalists, Essenes, Qero elders of Peru, Navajo, Cherokee, Apache, Iroquois confederacy, Dogon Tribe, and Aborigines). This means no more SS, sorry folks.
  6. Don't forget the SubSpace userbars
  7. Back on topic, I took the liberty of creating Category:Stub, so that it will be easier to find articles without any content. Just add {{stub}} when editing the article, or remove it when it actually has some content. And I also nominate the following pages for deletion (if possible): http://wiki.ssforum.net/index.php/Arnk_Dylie http://wiki.ssforum.net/index.php/Gunner http://wiki.ssforum.net/index.php/Category:MGCTF_Ships http://wiki.ssforum.net/index.php/Heavy_Scout http://wiki.ssforum.net/index.php/Juggernaut http://wiki.ssforum.net/index.php/Light_Scout http://wiki.ssforum.net/index.php/Deployer http://wiki.ssforum.net/index.php/Sniper http://wiki.ssforum.net/index.php/Turret
  8. SSC stands for "SubSpace Central", which refers to the main biller which all SSC* zones are connected to, that's why most of the 'council' was (and still is) made up of zone and server owners at first. But I've always seen it called 'SSCouncil', which might also better reflect their position outside 'biller maintenance'.
  9. Yes, for some reason Continuum has that problem. Although I never noticed it on my windows 98, the client-server response before entering the game can be really slow, and Continuum takes a lot more CPU than it should (even if it doesn't seem like much), causing (usually on laptops) your fan to go on because of overheating. For some other users, the overheating may actually cause their computers to restart.
  10. In no particular order: How did you find out about SubSpace / Continuum? Which zone did you start out in first? What attracted you to keep playing this game? What are your best / worst moments in SubSpace? (or: What are your most memorable events in SubSpace?) What are your most notable contributions [to the game, or related to]? ( Do you still play SubSpace? Why or why not? ) What are you current favorite zones? Where do you see this game in the next few years? What would you like to see improved in the game? Which players have you looked up to since you first started playing? Do you still look up to them now? *What do you do outside of Subspace? *What is the most important thing you would like to say about Subspace and the community at large? (*from ssdownload interviews)
  11. 1. Have you tried restarting your computer? 2. I've heard of something similar before with fatal error 0000012b, have you tried using a registry cleaner? Or rather, I'd recommend manually deleting Continuum's registry using regedit (Windows Registry Editor). You'll probably have to uninstall Continuum first, and restart your computer before trying a new install (I might even recommend installing it under a different user). 3. Although probably not what you're seeking as an answer, but you might want to consider reformatting if the problem persists.
  12. I don't speak German, so I can't comment.

    This thread needs more lolcats.
  15. Unfortunately there's no anchors on the page, perhaps that should be changed. At the moment, just use [[Dictionary#B|NAMEHERE]]
  16. Maybe I'm crazy, but it says the votes are '0' to '0'...

    What about other zones?^
  18. ^this is like asking to be banned. At any rate, I've seen some forums use a similar system without problems. It's usually meant as an incentive to motivate others to donate money as well, rather than boost those players' egos in question.
  19. Try installing it under a different user then your default. And when installing, save the installer unto your computer.
  20. Yeah, their website gets hacked yearly, so it shouldn't come as a surprise.
  21. You'll probably have more luck posting on the Server Help forums, as I know there are a few people who have used WINE but don't visit this forum.
  22. Make sure you're using the same color depth and resolution as your desktop (or the closest to it). Does this happen in all zones? (if not, which ones?) Have you tried restarting your computer? Since when has this problem been occurring?
  23. Ah ok, I just !@#$%^&*umed SSCX1 and SSCX2 were both named the same (SSCX) without distinction. Did Exodus, before Savvis, have East and West servers, hence the reason for ''SSCX" (West American) and "SSCE" (East American)? Or else I wouldn't understand why SSCE would have been hosted in the West, rather than East.
  24. Alright, but it doesn't list SSCY, nor the former SSCW. Out of curiousity though, what's the difference between SSCX ~ and SSCE ~ (Exodus)? (as seen on 17th's stats page)
