  1. Since you asked, One of the strongest things that stuck out was Starlight's interface itself. It's not very nice looking considering every other chat client, including Continuum itself, all correspond to the proper colour scheme (black background, [custom] colors, etc.). Yes, I know Sl has these, but customizing the background is like painting half a building and forgetting to paint the rest. I also cannot change the font type, size, or properties. Then, when I minimize/maximize, Sl doesn't remember the previous state it was in, so my window rather than being fullscreen, is a small square box. There is also no \?auto commands for when you login. No links in the menu, no quick-access commands for players, staff, or banG). I don't know where my directory server list comes from, so if I want to add a zone not available on default I have to load Continuum to find out. And I don't know how often (if at all) the list is refreshed? And well, you could separate Starlight's installer from the gcc. But mainly customizability and the min/max bug are the two factors that bother me most.
  2. No, it depends on what you need it for. Vista has strong points and weak points, just like every other operating system. If you're reluctant to adapt, then you'll evidently say that Vista sucks, just like Windows 98 users/sceptics were reluctant to adapt to other operating systems. For my uses, Vista > XP.
  3. lol I know, I should >< Mainly because I don't use Starlight (because it's still inferior to Subchat2; using Continuum's encryption is probably the only thing this client has advantage over)
  4. Not lazy, but it's inconvenient to have to go through your computer to delete every !@#$%^&*ociated file. Then have to reinstall a package which contains useless files except the one installer.
  5. Well, signing up for the army is like saying that it's okay to kill others, but somehow not yourself. Not that I'd want him dead (I doubt he'll be close to much of the action anyway), but if such an event ever occured, I don't think I'd cry.
  6. probably got ripped off youtube^ Really easy to do.
  7. Wow, how much did you pay for it?
  8. Well, if you look at it carefully, it would technically have been between the scorereset because that jackpot lasted 23 hours before me and FrozenSand (technically the only two who should be appearing on that list), claimed the jackpot to ourselves Somehow though, FS has a positive record, while I have the worst >< Unless the bot remembers every single player who entered a ship for the past 23 hours (whether or not they left the zone)?

  11. Pretty much... Let's see if mage can top this. Race5.lvl
  12. It looks like the tileset used in race2; although I do agree with you.
  13. sounds like one of those people who's hard drive has less space then a compact disk. Congratulations on being oblivious. Should I run Vista, I wouldn't have a hard drive of less than 700MB in space. It's just a matter of preference not to have useless files lying around. Edit: (back on topic) Opening up a second map seems to want to trigger the splash screen resulting in this error: http://img293.imageshack.us/img293/2287/2itemsww6.png
  14. Anyhow, senseless to argue about it; in the end I had been wrong as it wouldn't allow me to save a map using .lvz without the file (it could import though, just loses some information in the process). I suppose it's more important than I had thought, although I don't really use lvz, which would probably explain why I thought it useless
  15. Is there a way you can disable the prompts? Because I don't want to download stuff as useless as zlib.dll, just so that an already functional program does nothing with them except waste space on my computer.
  16. that's only pinging ASSS servers though... his site pings EVERYTHING Actually, maybe I'm the only one to realize this, but Smong's ASSS zone pinger isn't updating proper information. At the moment, it lists 14 players in pub 0 for Powerball, while there are only 5 players there. I suppose these problems come with the fact that he hardcoded his zone pinger.
  17. Here are more specific geolocations of each directory server: 1. ESTONIA > HARJUMAA > TALLINN 2. UNITED STATES > MICHIGAN > EAST LANSING 3. UNITED STATES > TEXAS > DALLAS 4. 5. UNITED STATES > WASHINGTON > SEATTLE 6. UNITED STATES > ILLINOIS > LOMBARD PS: it's looking better.

  19. Maybe he meant General Development?
  20. I use Spybot Search & Destroy. Although yes, it does partially run in your background; it won't run any unwanted scans or take up a load of memory at any time (unlike other software), it'll just ask you if you want to allow a certain registry change (which is very useful imo). There's quite a few settings you could play around with depending on your preferences, but I'm not sure you'd like the scan time, since it scans your whole computer.
  21. Would be a shame not to make someone else die watching this... http://www.drhorrible.com/index.html

    Hai

How is asking friends (perhaps on ;chat, or squad buddies) to drop by sometime for a flag game illegal? It's not like he said "Go into every zone you know and spam pub and people in pm's until everyone comes and has been converted to a new zone".

Umm, how many times have we tried that idea Suicide Run? That's a recipe for failure, a thousand times done in the past. Aside, The biggest problem with this magazine concept is, as previously pointed out before, that we're technically a non-profit player-run community; not even an organisation. Therefore dishing out 300 pounds (i.e. CA$601,3 or US$600,5) for a magazine to make profit off something non-profit is a no-go. Although I do not doubt that the article would be nice, and perhaps it could potentially attract some players here and there, I should also point out that The Escapist reviewed Continuum on their own accord. Therefore unless some rich kid around here wishes to donate that sum, personally I believe that you could better place that money elsewhere.
