Actually, there is a problem, though not insurmountable. Those with ????????? money will need to be left out of it. Otherwise, players could use the feature to extrapolate, and sentry is weak enough as it is.

Well, there are two uses for a 1 turn attack. One use is as Dav stated, to use it to mass The goal in massing is to generate as many casualties on the enemy as possible. Generally, you don't really care if you win or lose, you just want the target to lose a lot of soldiers and have a large repair bill. However, I think this is in regards to the poll. The other use for a one-turn attack is as a makeshift recon. If your goal is to save turns, but you don't know an enemies' strength, you can attack with one turn, and the attack log will give you an !@#$%^&*essment of the defender's strength. Its not as good as a recon. You suffer losses, and worse yet in an attack the turns represent the number of "rolls" in the random factor. * Generally the more turns you use, the less deviation in the outcome. A one-turn attack thus is very random, and many a player has executed a one-turn attack which they won, only to lose the subsequent full attack because they essentially got "lucky" the first time. The advantage of a 1-turn attack is that it you can do it on anyone. Really, I shouldn't have asked that question, because if somebody's "Recon reveals all", he will use recons, and if "Recon is impossible" he will rely on 1-turn attacks and memory. *I have recieved complaints about the random factor, though at the time I didn't know how to change it. Now, it seems that I can decrease it by increasing the max turns per attack value. Also, that would also cause people to not log in as often as it will take more time to prepare for an attack. The ideal value is about 1 to 4 depending on whether you are defensive or offensive. I admit the login problem is difficult for me to model mathematically. In game theory, one always !@#$%^&*umes that each player does whichever action yields the most benefit towards reaching his goal, that of "Put one's clan on top and get in first place of all stats". With other problems this goal suffices. However, in terms of logging in, it is always beneficial to be playing continuosly. There is no in-game benefit to not logging on. The goal of the player has to be modified to "Put one's clan on top, get in first place in all stats, and still have a social life." My problem is !@#$%^&*igning a mathematical model to "and still have a social life", as the entire field of mathematics has no concept of the subject. In the past, limits in turns appeared to have the most effect, other than a broken repair system. There still seem to be too many turns floating around, partly my fault for forgetting to turn off turns while the game went down. My short-term solution to the problem is to increase max turns per attack. The long-term solution is to maybe add a "market" feature where one can trade points, soldiers, and turns on a universal market, thus causing anyone with fewer points out than the going rate for turns to be "safe".

Smarties sabbed everyone on Penis, but Sound sabbed everyone on the Gods. Between the two of them millions of weapons were lost. This is due to Ailestan's new policy of exporting dissidents, voted into law today by a 99-1 vote in Ailestan's parliament. Under the new law, various policy-breakers will be exported to Smarties and Sound in equal numbers to be sent on sabotage missions. In unrelated news today, Senator Achmed Babaganush, the only senator who voted against the bill, has a problem in that his septic tank spontaneously exploded, sending excrement all over his property. The hit of the day occured when Sound took 450mil from Relos, proving that yes, Penis members can attack each other. (So stop bugging me JDS)

Yes, I am trying to learn how to modify the core. But, the first project will be adding massing in a way which is sane. After that it would be changing the sabotage system so that the saboteur loses something (and thus I could allow it to actually do significant damage.) After that maybe add a way to damage another player's sentry and covert tools. And if I really have time, maybe I could build a "market" feature. Few of those things are likely to happen. The odds are slim to none of me making a market in three days, but sane massing on the other hand wouldn't be hard to do.

Wait, before Relos and Smarties jump to conclusions... What this is really about is that JDS and rasta420 have been complaining that when these two try to attack each other, they get an error message. According to JDS, it is because they were on the same clan. According to me, clan has nothing to do with it. I was simply pointing out that I am right.

I seem to be always making some sort of annoucement or poll, and I really need to get around to cleaning out the stickies and updating the tutorial, but I've had to work all weekend and it looks like I'll be busy this week. So what does this have to do with me? All I was wrong about was that I figured that if you were going to let somebody have all your stuff, that you would aim for someone in particular. I apologize. I also note that if in the future I need a spare score-counter or some sort of apprentice rasta's gonna be top of the list. While his action was noble, it really didn't help. All it did was transfer the crapload to Dav. Now Dav is the one who dominates. The bug would certainly not have been insurmountable had we not lost two weeks of momentum.

What happened was the rasta420 attempted to liquify his !@#$%^&*ets and leave it open for a clan-mate to attack him, a technique to transferr. However, Dav and The Real Picard quickly grabbed those !@#$%^&*ets. Thus, rasta420 is practically destroyed, even down to the covert weapons. If I may interject my two cents, this problem is a result of Penis Clan's nature. They have historically been the ones to use unorthodox techniques which often are more goofy than innovative. Case in point, they liquified their strongest player, an action that was neither necessary nor prudent. While such action is appropriate when one is an underdog, when you are on top the proper thing to do is just sit on your stuff and collect the tallies. What's done is done. Dav and The Real Picard are now much richer. Penis is still in strong shape though by the fact that they recruited and the Gods didn't as much. The Gods have strong players, but only a few, wheras Penis is gaining a lot of tallies by having a lot of members in the top 10. The event does demonstrate that the bug didn't really do as much damage as Smarties implies. Unforunately, Dav was really powerfull before and now even moreso. However, according to the tallies the longterm game just got more compe!@#$%^&*ive. This affects the decision to reset. Point being, if Penis clan can get their daily tally income back up higher than the Gods, but still would need more time to catch up, then the Sept 30th deadline may be reinstalled. (Generally speaking, the primary condition which will affect early reset is non-compe!@#$%^&*ive play. If the game becomes even again, then the reset will occur at the origional deadline.)

One piece of truth in the origional article is that global warming is not exclusive to Earth. Venus and Mars are also experiencing global warming. The three planets (Venus, Earth, and Mars) have a common Sun but mankind only exists on one of them. Point being, it is likely routine increase in Solar activity, cyclic over a period so long that the last increase occurred prehistorically, which is causing global warming rather than something mankind is doing. (People tend to forget Earth's scale. Earth is not the circular rock on your television screen. Earth is the large object beneath your feet.) Global Warming has been politicised by environmentalists. Under such political pressure, some of the weaker minded scientists probably cracked. Yes there is a proportionality between temperature increase and greenhouse gases, and yes in the proper quan!@#$%^&*ies a Carbon Monoxide atmosphere will hold more heat than a Nitrogen based one. However, the rate at which temperature is increasing is linear, and lots of things increase at a linear rate. Put it this way: The greenhouse gases Carbon Monoxide and now Carbon Dioxide are essentially the product of burned Carbon. Humankind got that Carbon from deposits of coal and oil. All of that coal and oil was previously part of the biosphere. Thus at one time all of that Carbon was in the biosphere, and the Earth though different was still cool enough to support life. Granted "biosphere" does not mean "atmosphere", but one can note that plantlife will absorb Carbon which is in the atmosphere over the long term, and greenhouse gases are a long-term problem. You know, the religious portions of this topic were off-topic, but I will discuss them here. Not many people bother to read the Book of Revelations, and would certainly not expect a non-Christian to have spent time on it. It was written by the apostle John, and opens with him having a vision and being told to write everything he sees down. However, during the course of the entire book John does not prophecy. He gives predictions as to what is going to go on in Heaven and in !@#$%^&*, but not so much in terms of Earth. In fact, the only hard statement on the subject of the apocalypse made in the entire Bible is that at some unknown point in time in the future Earth will be destroyed. That's it. It doesn't specify how, and specificially states that the 'when' is known only by God. The statement is fundimentally undesputable and is also proven by both science and probability. However, if one is using the bible as a means to predict the future, you are missing the point. The point is that first off one's mortal existence will end, and secondly that even if one "immortalizes" themselves with some sort of physical legacy, that legacy will also be destroyed by time. Thus, is is ultimately futile to hoarde physical things, because those things will be taken from you. As for Darwinists, the most famous hard-core Darwinist I could think of tried to create a world-wide Eugenics program and to evolve mankind into the "Master race". And the worst thing about Darwinists is that you people don't consider yourselves part of the same group, and so rather than learn from your predecessors' mistakes, you put responsibility for them on other groups of people.

Sigh....people get a free service and then whine about it. I say the guy paying for the server has a right to do as he !@#$%^&* well pleases. 30 days for hacking is not that extreme. Actually, it seems a little light given the damage a hacker can do. And I think Ophie is the only person on planet Earth who doesn't think pornography objectifies women. (Either you have carefully hidden that opinion from the women in your life or you must be a virgin.) It has its time and place, but its always prudent to ask permission from the people providing the free service before putting porn on it.

Oldskool Warbird is certainly very powerfull. I was planning on going up to 75% deduction for the Oldskool Leviathon, making it a dangerous suprise for the last two weeks. The Oldskool ships weren't supposed to be this strong, but after the Followers/Gods merger I decided to give them a boost so as to favor whichever clan continued to recruit.

Sigh, well I do seem to be keeping up with my policy of creating a vote, letting people decide, and then doing what I want to do anyway. Generally though, its almost a 50-50 split as to reset now or on Sept 30th. However, the vote to reset won by one. I for one don't want to wait. However, the good side to the recent crisis is that beforehand I wasn't really aware of the ftp portion of the core, but solving the problems required solutions on that end. Thus, I realize I need to train myself on that end of things. I expect however that once I do I can actually start changing the core rather than changing the settings. Hence, I would really like to devote a week towards training. Thus, reset will be Sept 1st. I will update the score page accordingly.

Rasta420, Keiver, & Relos were repeatedly sacked, and sufferred many losses both in points and in casualties. However, those casualties were not enough to prevent rasta420 from claiming best sentry in order to gain a ~slightly~ better tally output than yesterday. The only mistake that Smarties made was to attack ally !@#$%^&*onearth as well as "attacked Sound so many times he probably should be on the Gods" Mega. However, Smarties and !@#$%^&*onearth have always had that arrangement going, and Mega still isn't really an ally. I will take this opportunity to remind the clan leaders (Dav, JDS, Synook) that you should take the time to recruit players once in a while. Free agents don't score tallies. Also keep in mind that the new ships are very strong. The leader is a Nightwasp. Thus, you should also be bringing new players in.

Okay, first off, there is already a poll on the subject. Yes, it didn't have a half-way comment, but that's splitting hairs. The results are actually innaccurate. I had mistakingly voted on the subject early, and thus the results are 6 in favor of the reset and 5 opposed. Even still, I've changed my mind...I didn't favor a reset before, now I do. Look, Al Gore, re-counts are not allowed here. And that's the point. You three aren't the only active players. Not even close. There is activity from atleast everyone in the top 10, and its hard to notice because of the huge lead. The problem as it has been stated is that on a single day, the language cache broke, income went screwy, and three individuals garnered a huge amount of points and that since that time, those three individuals have been about ten times stronger than their compe!@#$%^&*ors. Look, rasta420 for instance has 30,000 Stealths. Since those are covert weapons, no one can touch them. The nearest anyone is to that kind of level is !@#$%^&*onearth with 15,000 Cloaks, and !@#$%^&*onearth is a covert fanatic. So, barring a miracle or some incredible stupidity on rasta420's part, he has the covert rating for the rest of the round in the bag. That's 200 tallies right there. Clan members are allowed to attack each other. Smarties has been doing it several times this round. However, there are also features to prevent people from transferring via attack when the attempt is so blatently obvious even a computer can notice. First off, I'm not sure if I can turn those off. Secondly, I wouldn't if I could. A trading services option can't be implemented. As for recruiting, recruits usually like to showing up upon the beginning of new rounds. However, all that being said, I do favor starting on September 1st. I wouldn't mind taking a week to study the code and seeing if I could change a few things around, such as replacing the sab system with something more sane, adding a merc cap, implimenting massing in a proper fashion, etc. Thus, I think I will allow this poll with the stipulation that the votes towards Sept 30th. won't count.

I'm thinking I'll give it a good run. As for the odds, the Gods have a huge lead in terms of tallies. On the other, JDS and rasta420 have gotten huge leads in points. My thought on the matter is that if the reset doesn't happen, that the 454 tallies scored by the Followers of Dav1 will be allocated to the Gods. However, JDS's and rasta420 will keep their bug-won winnings. These two people would easily dominate the tallies winnings, and over the course of the days left could get the tallies to overcome the gap. The problem I have with this is that people would essentially be fighting for third place. Also, without massing and decent sabbing, these two won't have nearly as much difficulty as they should have holding on to the top spot, especially since rasta's money is in untouchable covert weapons. However, its typical for the individual game to be out of reach to most people. Even without bugs, Dav dominated the first month. What I've been trying to do is create clan playing, because clan action interests all parties involved rather than a handful of elites. However disjoint the individual game has come, the bug has actually increased the compe!@#$%^&*iveness of the clan game. For reference, almost all bank accounts are empty. There is only one with more that 100mil in it, and that one isn't owned by someone who scored tallies today. Thus, the good news is that its not getting any worse than this.
