  1. Don't worry, you got it. Yeah, I will mention that there is no official time that tallies are taken every day as I'm not a bot and can only get online when I can get online.
  2. nope. Well, sometimes I ~had~ to, but I made a strict policy of not logging in the admin until after I did everything I had to do playwise.
  3. ...just remember to pm me if your UP ever breaks 500 so I can consider adding more UP upgrades. Dav does happen to have a high UP. However, I learned that through admin spying rather than recon, so it would be unethical to post it. (By the way, how is the recon/sabotage situation? Is it too easy, too hard, or just right?)
  4. Alright, I've made some progress with fixing the clan lists. Under advice from the technical support forum I've done a clean uninstall/reinstall of the entire clan system, and... ...now we have the !@#$%^&*ans as the only clan displayed on the clan list. Excusing my sarcasm, there is some progress because we now know more about the problem. The clan list will always display the first clan in the cache and only the first clan, so now I know that if I deleted the !@#$%^&*ans, the Gods, which happens to be the second clan I rewrote, would be the only clan on the list. Due to the uninstall, all of the clan data was lost and I had to manually put it back in. I didn't bother with the 1-man clans that didn't score yet, or with descriptions and clan notes, those will have to be re-written.
  5. Oh, I'm going to have to uninstall and then reinstall the clans feature to fix it. You may notice some anamolies and lost data, but when this is over the clan list should be working.
  6. But you didn't say "Americans are descended from Africans and Asians" SeVeR. You cited the fact that Americans descended from Europeans as somehow relevent. Your point about Israel is exactly what I am talking about. When Israel was created, a LOT of countries voted, but other than the US all of the other nations who voted for it didn't back up their UN vote with action. Thus, the US has been handling the Israel situation almost unilaterally. Now, those who voted but took no action don't like how we handled Israel and criticise everything that's done. I say if they wanted a voice in the matter they should have taken action themselves. Astro, other than Saudi Arabia I can't think of any examples. Maybe Iraq in the Iraq/Iran war but at the time that was choosing the lesser of two evils. Maybe a couple of Latin American regimes as well, but those nations have a tendency to replace their repressive regimes with different regimes which are equally repressive. But how could we "forget" it during the Cold War? The USSR was very repressive. China was and continues to be repressive. By objective we were trying to take down two very large repressive regimes during the Cold War, and in an inperfect world that does mean sometimes helping out the little repressors. That's not being "forgetfull". That's being tactical. Bush happens to be a good example of what I'm talking about though. When he was justifying action in Iraq to the United States, all he needed to do was to mention that Hussein was running a brutal dictatorship that was killing its own people. That was all it took for him to get a 70% approval rating from the American people. He tried the same arguement with Europe and it didn't work, so he had to cite WMDs. Don't get me wrong. With good people Liberty and Peace are the top 2 priorities, so no matter who you are you probably want both. I'm just saying Americans culturally favor Liberty over Peace while Old World countries favor Peace over Liberty.
  7. SeVeR, while you are citing the reasons why the US voted "Yes" for those actions, it does not change the fact that Europe also approved of those actions. Astro, I was making a point, not fairly taking in both sides. Europe isn't *always* like that. All I'm saying is that they engage in that type of behavior a lot. But the other comment from SeVeR is what takes the cake. Yes, most Americans are decendents form Europe. So apparently what causes European behavior is being caucasian, and since Americans are also caucasian, Americans must also be wrong. That is a racist at!@#$%^&*ude. It can be cultural however, but the defining cultural quality that you can ascribe to all Americans is that an American is by definition someone who is or has desceded from people who have left an old country in order to pursue a new life in another country, and in most of our history we were actually less wealthy than Europe. As such, Americans have a culture of not tolerating systems that continually serve the aristocracy, an at!@#$%^&*ude that is still present today because we look for those systems all the time. I'd hope to think they are torn down faster than they can be set up, though with the all-negative news today its impossible to be sure. Europeans don't like such systems either. But the degree is different. Americans were willing to leave their family and property behind in order to leave such systems, where to a European having a nice quite life is more important, hence why they stayed in Europe. Thus, they can never understand why we hate repressive regimes like the Baathists as much as we do.
  8. Thanks...I had trouble figuring out with screwy method he was using. Hey, I voted 2. 3 is good though because by the time this round is over, it will be fall and people will be playing again.
  9. I'd like to remind people that the !@#$%^&*le of the topic deals with whether or not it is a mental health disease, not whether or not it is an addiction. And all this decision means is: "Should a psychologist have the right to tell a patient 'you play video games too much'?" So, I've thought about it and changed my mind. I'd give a flat out "yes", because there are people who play video games too much and those people need help, but in order to give them help, the condition must first be considered a problem.
  10. Man, I know the feeling. I got past the "!@#$%^&* Hard" 1, 2, & 3 guys only to get murdered by the "HOW ARE YOU STILL ALIVE?" guys. I've personally found that water towers combined with upgraded cannons, fire towers, and rockets are effective since the "!@#$%^&* Hard"s are not immune. The water tends to slow them down into dense clunks and the splash damage from the cannons and fire towers multiplies. I should consider adding more games or possibly starting some kind of tournament.
  11. No, you hit the nail on the head the first time, hence why I'm not playing this round. The good news is that there's nothing that has to be timed to do here for the next two weeks, and even then no one cares if ships show up on the hour. Hopefully by the end of the round I'll have a job and have either less or more stress.
  12. 11:00 PM EST. Same time as usual, though I should have posted.
  13. It seems we aren't the first forum to have this problem with the clan page. However, I've posted our situation in the tech support pages for the core. Last I checked the the person who would be in charge of fixing it is on a programming "break", which is perfectly acceptible because he could smite this forum with a wave of his hand, and we wouldn't want to upset him. Hopefully I'll get a reply soon.
  14. Well, the first problem is that the 'other side' hasn't organized yet. Not having a clan page isn't helping things. I'll have to see if I can fix the problem tomorrow, and then maybe worry about recruiting some more players.

The random factor is not changeable with this core. JDS, you came to that conclusion two months ago. Don't act like anything I did caused you to suddenly come to this conclusion. A word of advice before you leave though; your mentor claims to have 11 years experience playing html games, and judging how he even bothered to show up at this one, he probably has not liked any of the ones he played. As for other html games, they do have the advantage of actually being built by the people running it so that the admins can essentially do as they please. Two of my biggest "mistakes" have been to result off not being able to get around the core and having to try to do something else with it. They also have a much more stable pop, and even with the same settings there is a difference between having 30 people and 30,000 people. But they have a lot of down-sides. First off, many players take them too seriously. They include the type of people who would threaten others in real life, and people so obsessed that they would hack into other factions' boards just to learn their secrets. Secondly, most of them require money to compete, usually not up front, but later when your enemies are using it to gain an edge. Third as much as I've been accused of doing things my way, the admins of the big ones are worse, and more often than not favor one faction. It is the difference between a back-yard swimming pool and an Olympic Natatorium. One is used for fun, but doesn't lead to good compe!@#$%^&*ion. The other is used for compe!@#$%^&*ion, but isn't fun. Try the other games if you like. You'll show up and play for a couple months, but eventually you'll run into some group of nerds with no job and hundreds of dollars invested who not only will beat you but will force you to play like them in order to stay compe!@#$%^&*ive. Eventually it will become a sort of obligation, and then you'll find out that there is no point in playing on that level and you'll cut your losses. To that end, people have forgotten the best feature of the SS RPG...the storytelling threads. Keep in mind that this game is around to support the forum, not the other way around. The whole point isn't to win, but to talk smack on the forums.
  16. Those who lost money have been reinbursed. And for the record, TRP carried out more attacks than anyone. The round won't be reset because all of the damage has been fixed. As for Dav, I suggest the other side start doing the exact same thing.
  17. Attacks opening was a mistake. It should have been closed. Attacks have be re-closed and those who have been attacked were refunded. I don't know what's wrong with the clan lists, but now other clans do exist and have members, so they will score points. You get 5 points for being first in the sectionals. Max per person is 30. Keiver actually had 20. Ani, fyi, there's a poll around here somewhere...
  18. I still have no clue as to what is happening with the clan page. I'm trying to diagnose but have no luck.
  19. At this point I'm not planning on playing this round. If I do I'll sign myself up.
  20. It was not my intention to keep attacks open. That was a screw-up on my part. Attacks have since been closed. Those who lost money have been refunded. Those who have earned money will keep it. Attacks will re-open on the third. (And for debate, having attacks start straight off can mess things up for a much longer time because it forces people to focus on weapons too soon.) The point system also award 5 points to those who are first in the sectional rankings. Dav got 9 points for 2nd, and 5 points for having the best sentry. For the record, the person who got the most points was Keiver with 20. I do not know what the heck is going on with the clan list. I don't like where this "Followers of Dav1" is going. The effect is that Dav belongs to two clans. I can only hope Penis or some other third clan will have 8+ members.
  21. The Current Clan Scores in the Subspace RPG, 1/30/08, 10:15 PM lollerskates 2702 (47) Winners! SSCentral Gods 1443 (19) Unclaimed tallies: 224 (6) Clan of Uhhhhhhh 50 (3) Best Attack: rasta420 Best Defense: rasta420 Best Covert: rasta420 Best Sentry: rasta420 Daily Comment: I apologize, but I seem to have forgotten to mention that the reset will occur tomorrow. If all goes according to plan, the round will end at 9:00 PM EST tomorrow.
  22. It's easy enough to figure out what time it occurs. Just put a point in the bank and wait until it dissappears. Oh, and for those of you who plan on stockpiling, but withdrawing every day just before the monkeys, waiting a minute and then depositing just after the monkeys, you'd better have a good defense because it won't be long until players would hunt at that time. They would have 100+ opportunities to hit you at just the right minute.
  23. I am referring to the time before the world wars when they attached a morality to conquering other people's and would do so for absolutely no reason. The British conquest of India was one thing; It was done for economic reasons and as such India benefited from it in some ways. Not many, but some. I'm talking about how France conquered the Sahara desert just for the sake of doing it. I am also talking about the World Wars as well the wars leading up to it, where they would ally themselves in such a way as to form two equally sized factions, and wouldn't care what despicable s!@#$%^&* they would ally with in order to achieve this end. World War I, a war that involved world powers such as England, France, Germany, Austria, the United States, etc. was started by a fool from one pissant speck of land known to be called a country !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*inating another fool from another pissant speck of land known to be called a country. The powerfull nations with so much to lose should never have !@#$%^&*ociated with the fools. And finally, the worst thing I despise about Europe is how they helped to create the United Nations and then p!@#$%^&* off responsibility for it to the US. Who created Israel? The United Nations did. If you asked your common Islamic who created Israel, he'd say the US did. Who was involved the the first Gulf War? The United Nations. If you asked your average Iraqi who was involved in the first Gulf War, he'd answer that the US was. Who was involved in the Korean War? The United Nations. If you asked the average North Korean who was, he'd say the US was. That what "it" is though. Admittingly the US' influence on the UN is large. However, what despises me about this whole situation is that Europe has generated a self-righteous at!@#$%^&*ude about it. They act like Israel is our fault that we uphold the mandates which they voted in. They left the US to isolate Hussein's Iraq and when we found out that that particular long term policy would fail, act like we are the agressors. They left us in Korea and now expect us to fix the problems with North Korea new nukes, though certainly don't want us to try any direct approach to removing them. What disgusts me about modern Europe is that with they US they will agree to solve a problem, and then about half-way through it they pull out, leave us to deal with the hard part of it ourselves, and then turn around a criticise the methods we use to finish things. They are like a group of friends going out on the restaurant who will eat the food but dissappear when it comes time to pay the bill, and not only that will have the nerve to criticise the person who did pay the bill for not leaving the waiter a generous enough tip. As proof of their self-righteousness, they cite that the waiter is not mad at them, but at the person who left behind to pay the bill.
  24. Actually I think its the other way around. The Commander gets 200 soldiers when an Officer clicks his link. This whole feature is a step backwards in terms of fair play, but does provide rewards to those who recruit new players.
  25. Whoops! Bank has been fixed now. The Bizarro Bank resets at a certain time every day. Unfortunatly I do not know when that is. Individual performance will be tracked but not posted. My goal with this is to promote clan vs. clan activity.
