  1. Uh, we would have a great deal of difficulty getting a 2D vehicle to function in a 3D universe, and odds are those teenagers will end up crashing into each other when expecting to fly through. Nevermind the number of laws of physics the warbird concept breaks in and of itself. And why would you want to take over the world anyway? I've run simulations. Sure, its good for the first week, but after that, its a never-ending line of people whining "Grand Emperor, somebody stole my shoes." or "Grand Emperor, my neighbor ate my cat." There are so many people with so many problems who would expect you to solve them. Blah blah blah wah wah wah, that's all world domination really is. The way I figure, you're just better off letting the world handle its own problems, not taking it over, and playing Continuum. That is until I can get my stash of mind-controlling nanobots into the world's water supply.
  2. Yes, you do kapitan. JDS is running one of the new clans.
  3. The time can't be set...I have a real life too you know, and also unreliable internet. I can't make something unknown to myself public. But, I'll say this: if you want to get the tallies for a certain day, hold the !@#$%^&*le for the whole day. Actually if I had a bot, I'd actually make the time ~completely~ random in order to keep people on their toes. Also, if you had paid attention you will know that the new sab formula crashed the game. I admit people may not have noticed this because the crash occured behind the screen of the attack page failure. Long story short, while I can change the code, the core will not accept any new code, so none of the core changes discussed beforehand actually happened, nor will they happen. The sab formula is the same as it has been. And trust me, the general sab formula is a very complicated thing. I did see the old code, but I don't understand anything other than the random check based on number of spies, which everyone knows the important part: send one spy. I also changed a few editable variables. One was based on how good of a recon you need before sabotage is possible, so you will now need a ~really~ good recon. The other was this wierd variable with a note that it could be changed to make sabotage more difficult. Trust me, I don't have any "hidden knowledge" about the inner workings of sabotage. I've taken out about 40 weapons so far. Hence why I say in the scoreboard that covert levels will be added if it continues to be ineffective.
  4. ....We're clanmates. The idea is to insult the OTHER clan. You're supposed to crack jokes about Penis' members who express an "alternative lifestyle". (Hence why they got so upset when a woman joined their chat. Granted, big mole, but still...)
  5. I've tried multiplayer in Echoes. Unfortunately, the whole Metroid concept doesn't really work to well in multiplayer, or atleast not in any way they implimented it. Maybe it could work if they had a really good map that while all locations would be accessible to everyone, would allow people to move around faster if they had grapple beam, spider ball, gravty, etc. However, the way they did it was to have relatively standard arenas, with players starting with the power beam and a few missles, and being able to grab additional weapons. And this is where Metroid's concept kills multiplayer, because weapons in Metroid aren't even close to balanced. In single player, you can't use Super Missiles, Beam Combos, and Power Bombs exclusively because you simply don't have enough of them to take on the numerous weak badguys. In multiplayer however, you can only have 1-3 enemies, and thus there is NO reason to slack in the department of how much ordinance you are dropping in your enemies' direction. So for those of you who imagine who 'awesome' Metroid multiplayer can be, I'll give you a more realistic description: Imagine two players in morph ball mode chasing after each other for hours on end trying to drop a one-hit kill power bomb, only to find that when they do in fact get into range they BOTH drop one and both get killed. For reference, Zelda would probably have a lot of problems in multiplayer as well. A newer Mario Brothers multiplayer would work. They had that in Mario Bros. 3 for NES and that was fun. Generally, in order for a single player game to be transferable to a multiplayer game, the players and the computer controlled baddies need to follow the mostly same game rules. Metroid is a mix of incredibly weak enemies that can only take you out by attrition, and incredibly powerfull yet predictably scripted bosses. Its a classic concept. It works great in single player, but it just doesn't work in multiplayer. Oh, and one other thing: You will never be able to kill Dark Samus. Those type of characters just don't die. Infact, I doubt Ridley is dead. Last we saw, he fell off of a chasm and then we saw an explosion, something a installment-spanning boss like Ridley could easily survive. Generally, I wouldn't count one of these bosses as dead until you actually see the body explode in front of your screen with little bits of boss being splattered all over Samus' visor, and even THEN I wouldn't be so sure.
  6. The day of our victory is at hand! This message is for the infidels who follow Sound, now suffering staggering losses in a quagmire at Mt. Noob. Day by day political opposition to Sound's continuing losses at the hands of Dav will tear the nation apart. Our nation of Ailestan mounted devastating attacks against Sound and Falcoknight today. However, in our generousity, Ailestan offers peace terms to clan Penis. Bow down and worship the Gods, as your friend rasta has, and we will rule over you with kindness.
  7. I'll update the clan list after I do the score. Up until know, my focus for this round has been to fix the !@#$%^&* thing, but the fix I got from tech support didn't work. Clans have to earn tallies to be put on the scoreboard.
  8. I usually don't like to see individuals argue, but I will state the facts here. Falcoknight is the best tally scorer for Penis. In total, sound has scored 15 tallies, JDS has scored 24 tallies, rasta has scored 30 tallies, and Falcoknight has scored 46 tallies. (Though I repeat, 5 of those should be mine.) These are not counting today's which I haven't calculated yet.
  9. An Elementary School in Northern Ailestan exploded in a nuclear blast today. Though there are no witnesses, it is believed to be the result of one of the students failing to stay away from the model rocketships. Fortunately, nobody important was killed. This event is clearly the direct result of rasta420, and indirectly by others in the Penis clan. Without their insidious influence, events like these will not happen. The government of Ailestan vowed again today to put these people in their place for the children's sake.

You have a point. I have been lackadasical about short term flaws. It can't throw off the "game balance", because if you use turns at a rate greater than you can acquire them, you run out of turns.

I have been to devastation a couple times, though lag usually prevents me from going to that zone.
  12. International weapons inspectors continued to ask entrance into Ailestan today. This comes after they demanded entrance into the country last Monday for supposed WMD deployment. The inspectors seem to be under the clearly false belief that Ailestan is hiding WMDs. Our dear leader Aileron responded to the statement Monday, with this audio only tape: "I don't know why the international community continues to - ~ring~ ~ring~ um, hold on a minute. !@#$%^&*o? Oh, hi Khalid. Yes, I'm stalling them now. Hurry up and get those trucks moving! Don't worry about that now. I'll deal with that later, I have to talk to the international community right now. Okay, bye. ~clap~ Well, as I was saying, I don't know why the international community continues to accuse us of hiding WMDs That at!@#$%^&*ude is racist and culturally intolerant. It is based upon this false belief that Ailestan is not a democracy but a theocratic dictatorship, and that theocratic dictatorships like mine are prone to try to take over the world. This is all purely capitalist propaganda." Further development occurred today when international weapons inspectors were finally let in to the country. They were allowed to search one of our army bases, and were required to be blindfolded on the way in and out of the facility. The inspectors did not find any weapons on the base, but continually wanted to follow some supposed tire tracks leading out of the facility. Ailestani officials denied them this stating: "We don't want these people to spy on our whole country. The international community needs to recogize our citizens right to privacy." Yesterday, the senate voted 99-1 to install security cameras in private bathrooms to make sure our citizens are not using our national headgear to dry themselves after taking a shower. Senator Achmed Babaganush was the only one who voted against the bill. A diplomatic envoy came back from the realm of AstroProdigy today. The envoy was sent to appeal for funds to the "Feed the Starving Orphans" campaign. AstroProdigy generously donated 70mil foloose to the cause. The playgrounds to the state madressas around the country have new toys. 3,000 large model rocketships have been set up in madressas around the country. These rocketships are there to bolster children's interest in rocket powered craft. Parents and teachers are advised however to not let the children play on or around the rocketships, and under no cir!@#$%^&*stances should they press the large red buttons on the control panels which arrived with the rocketships. Finally, there is some news regarding Ailestan's growing crime problem. On his way home from congress, Senator Achmed Babaganush was ambushed by a street gang, which after an altercation stole his car, his money, and his shoes. This amounts to the third gang attack in only 19 years. Witnesses describe the gang as driving a black van, and were dressed head to toe in black army fatigues. The Senator walked home from the scene, but was fined 20,000 foloose for walking public streets barefoot. When asked to comment, the Police chief said "Even a Senator is not above the law."

Well, I wrote it the wrong way actually. Subspace players are actually quite a typical breed. Most games are played in either a one on one or a team vs. team manner, and Subspace is usually played that way when it is done compe!@#$%^&*avely Pub games however usually represent goofing around and chatting with friends more than anything, and people from private freqs because they want to hang around with friends. Hardcore MMORPG players are the wierd ones.
  14. No, Sound, Dav is not "40 clicks ahead of you". You are actually in the lead with 90 clicks so far.
  15. People banked apparently...attack openings aren't really supposed to be big events.
  16. No, tomorrow. I think I'll take tallies in the morning this time, as if I can't get on the computer, I can fall back to the evening.
  17. attacks open as announced. This round, max turns per attack is 15. This should decrease the random factor as well as slow attacks down for those who like to plan. Those who like speed may continue to use 10 turns if they wish.
  18. Look, just to let you people know, the clicker has logs too. I'll let what has gone on so far slide, but the idea is that: One person gets to click on another player's link only once per day. Any action designed to get around that will be considered an exploit and disciplinary action will be taken.

I don't know how many of you guys are experienced with the real variety of MMORPG (admittingly this one is like a kiddie pool really). I am not the biggest veteran of those in existence, but I have spent some time on them, though not KoC in particular. I have been around the block enough to know this rule though: There is no such thing as a three or more sided fight in an MMORPG. Infact, getting a two-sided fight is incredible. If you have three clans, two will unite and crush the third one. If you have four, three will unite and crush the fourth. By the time the first crushing is done, the members will have formed a permanent alliance. The big alliance will typically not break up and try to take each other on, they will just keep pegging up newcomers as possible threats. Your typical MMORPG player is cowardly and selfish, and the last thing they want at all is a fair fight. Subspace players are different from MMORPG players, as evidenced by Transfer messing up the game. (In real MMORPGs, players are so !@#$%^&* selfish that they don't use transfer. Typically, even if they are quitting they don't give their stuff away but rather expect someone to pay them money for it.) A cap limit means little. Penis and Gods would merely be split into Penis I, II & III and Gods I, II, & III, and by that I mean there will literally be clans named something like "SSCentral Penis II". The tally count will be distorted, and everyone but the score will know which side everyone else is on. And even if we get a bona fide fracture, our reward is to have our best recruiters suddenly stop recruiting players after having recruited four.

Oh please Sound, keep in mind I'm playing. I kicked !@#$%^&* bad before and now I know the sabotage formula. You people don't have a chance. On the other hand, I am a very good one-man recruiting drive for whichever clan I'm facing. Penis will probably double in membership and pull a few players out of retirement. The only bad news is that my Arabic is a little rusty.
  21. EST, sorry. As for moving things back for rasta...sorry, but we have also been waiting long enough. 11:00 PM is tradition, albeit a stupid one.

Um, massing won't work at all actually..... I did write a new php file that would create changes that would enable balanced massing to be established. However, that file broke the attack page and was promptly removed. The only change in the core I was able to make in the end was to change a few variables which should make sabotage against sentried targets more difficult. However, I wasn't able to change the basic calculations like I wanted to, and the random factor is still huge.

Well, in SVS the ship certainly is a newbie ship. In the RPG however the role is commander of an army of newbies, which does not necessarily make one a newb himself.
  24. Guide to MMORPGs, rule#1: The amount of balance in the settings is proportional to the percieved unbalance when said settings are discussed.
