  3. The Washington Post is generally considered a right-slanted paper fyi. But if you were there and it didn't happen that way, he's a liar regardless. In addendum: The pro-bush people are planning a similar "anti-protest" for the RNC, in which there's expected to be upwards of 100000 anti-bush protestors. I garuntee you the wrong people get the press in that case too http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...ention_protests And a bonus for anyone with broadband...Mr. Jon Stewart at his best. Self Explanatory: http://www.moveleft.com/moveleft/video/200...king_points.mov
  4. What that article essencially says is that this forum topic is pointless until the Republican National Convention, Neither Bush nor Kerry have said what they're doing yet because there's really no reason to do so

  6. And speaking of Kerry having no set agenda (which he actually does at johnkerry04.com)... Bush doesn't have one: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...-2004Jul17.html Hooray for people with no current vision
  7. And here's yet another terrorist group publically endorsing Bush (besides al Queda) http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,114489,00.html But yet: http://www.kentucky.com/mld/heraldleader/n...ate/9176679.htm Where he has decimated our national security and defense? See my above post for that -*BAD WORD*-. And once again: Hypocracy is HILARIOUS
  8. And just so we don't have any misconceptions about Cheney being a hypocrite.... http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washingt...uts_questioned/
  9. It would be most radical if it wasn't directly supported by a quote by Congressman Ryan, a republican from Wisconsin, saying that at least one Republican in Congress feels that Social Security and Medicare are "undesirable". Considering as the Repubs shot down Hillary's Health Care bill as being Socialist (not that i'm defending that bill), it's pretty easy to see they don't like these sort of programs in favor of the big buisness that is the Health Care industry. Perhaps you can explain to me with the government in all sorts of debt, how we can afford to retain all of these programs? Instead of calling it radical, which is just dismissing something you don't like to hear. Speaking of something you don't like to hear, please prove your Moore !@#$%^&*ertation, because you'd think Bush could have sued him for Libel if it was true. (See, we CAN tie John Edwards into this somehow ) (edit) I mean, he does have a criminal lawyer retained about the Iraq Torture Scandal after all <_< (/edit)
  10. This is absolute -*BAD WORD*-. Nobody's taking the Gideon bibles from hotels, and nobody's telling you you can not go to church, or practice your faith at home, or tell you you can't do anything you can do right now. The problem is when a public official makes it appear as if his public policies are directly influenced by some sort of dogma rather then what's best for everyone. There's a -*BAD WORD*-LOAD of Jews, Muslims, Athiests, Bhuddists, Protestants, etc... in the United States, the Government should not be just Christian because then it promotes only one side of an issue, and leads to religious wingnuts influencing public policy. The largest such lobbiest group in the United States is the Southern Baptists, who have a big meeting every year to determine political strategy. If you pander to them, you have a very good chance at winning the south, which is many many electoral votes. So you see, there is a reason why a publically religious government official would be a problem, paticularly one who publically says God speaks through him. What could this problem be? http://www.timesonline.co.uk/printFriendly...1181969,00.html Questions: 1) Why is the US not going after Russia for supplying a member of the "axis of evil" with nuclear fuel? 2) The last "inspired revolution" we tried backfired at the hands of one Mr. Hussein. Odds are troops are going to have to go in, and if they do...draft time. I hope Alieron and Worthless like the military, that's where we're headed considering as we're already calling up reserves for Iraq, and Iran won't go peacefully into the night either. 3) WTF happened to Osama? Won't this create more terrorists? Because we all know how much the Arab world loves our pandering to Isreal. 4) Hasn't this war in Iraq proven Destabalizing the Middle East = BAD? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But ya, let's get back on some kind of track... From Congressman Ryan's Speech (is quoted by BCG Insider newsletter volume 3 - edition 4 - July 2004): Now, let's not have any more of this "Congress isn't controlled by the President" -*BAD WORD*-, they all belong to the same party and they all work together to create some sort of agenda. The President has Veto power you know. Or can someone explain to me how the Patriot Act was Vetoed and then passed by 2/3rds of both houses? The agenda of the Bush Administration is becoming sadly and blatently obvious when it comes to domestic agenda. Republicans over the years have expressed anger at FDR's New Deal programs, the last two major vestiges of which are Social Security and Medicare. These programs are paid for by the government so that Americans can have some form of aid when they need it most (being elderly, being sick). Due to rising Health Care costs in both prescriptions and hospital bills (disclaimer: I am a biomedical engineer, I see this firsthand), many people even in the Middle Class need at least Medicare to assist them. But back to that bit about the "government paying for these programs". Guess what Bush has run up? That's right, a record defecit based on military spending. That is how the deficit bill will come due. When Medicare and Social Security are eliminated. And public education too, to be replaced by religious schools. And we will be the ones to suffer. Or did you think Michael Moore put Bush's words in his mouth when he said "The Rich and the Richer, you are my base?"
  11. Look Everyone, Bush is claiming he's a conduit of God on July 9th! Source - http://lancasteronline.com/pages/news/local/4/7564
  12. Well, considering as none of our Founding Fathers was Catholic, and in fact wrote volumes about the values of secular government, I find that !@#$%^&*uming that the country was founded upon faith based values is rather wrong
  13. If you lack willpower, you can easily become enthralled by watching them for hours. (Note to weenies, I do not do such a thing, the proof being that i'm posting this ) PS: Did you ever notice Mike's bouncing nose? Hmm...
  14. Yawn, people who just assume what Fox News says is right piss me off: Bush's Domestic Record, directly and indirectly: - Supports amending the cons!@#$%^&*ution over a pathetically stupid reason, defining "marriage". Why is this wrong? Because this is a christian belief, and America was founded and up until 2000 was run by people who despite their public beliefs (ex: Carter is a devout Christian) governed secularly. This is also why the -*BAD WORD*- over the Pope saying Kerry shouldn't get Communion is just that, -*BAD WORD*-. If the church wants to play politics it should not be a tax-exempt organization. - "No Child Left Behind" remains painfully unfunded http://www.nea.org/lac/fy04edfunding/ http://www.nea.org/esea/chorus1.html http://www.nea.org/esea/ - The Medicare Prescription Drug Bill sucks because the bill forbids Medicare from negotiating lower prescription drug prices - Bush is not fully funding his AIDS initiative as promised. Not only that, but his non-secular mandates that schools teach abstinance as the only way to prevent STD's, and his application of this theory to the AIDS fight is doing an extraordinary amount of harm bordering on m!@#$%^&* homicide, and against nearly all scientific opinion that has been published on the subject. This isn't "Is our children learning", this is real ignorance OR a lack of giving a -*BAD WORD*-. UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has stated the world would need to spend between $7 billion and $10 billion a year to effectively treat HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases in underdeveloped countries. The Global AIDS Alliance stated, “In 2001, African governments paid $14.6 billion in debt servicing to the IMF, the World Bank and wealthy nation creditors. This extraction of local resources directly undermines all efforts to combat AIDS,”. To be fair, all the G8 countries are screwing AIDS victims. But Bush is joining right in. - The Weakening of the CIA was done with 4 years of a Republican Congress. Anyone remember that good ol "Contract with America?" - Not just W, but Bush I and Reagan campaigned on the principle of Smaller Government. Well, guess what...only Clinton shrinked it. -The Patriot Act was prepared ahead of time (if you don't believe that, check when 9/11 happened then check when the Act was passed...it's HUGE, huge things take a while to write) and rammed through a congress that would sign anything patriotic at the time. We all know what this one does, so let's move on. - The amazing defecit bill will come due eventually, and it is YOU that will be screwed when it happens. Paticularly when you have a loan. - Better use for the Clinton Surplus: Use it to prop up Social Security. Now thanks to said deficit it's doomed. Thanks 2 tax cuts! - Bush n' Pals are working to dismantle the US Federal Court system (besides the Supreme, which is mandated by the Cons!@#$%^&*ution). Leaders will take their first step next week when they take up Rep. John Hostettler’s (R-Ind.) “jurisdiction stripping” bill. This would bar federal courts from hearing lawsuits related to gay sex and marriage. - Someone in the White House leaked Amb!@#$%^&*ador Plame's wife's status as a CIA undercover agent, which is a treasonous offense. - Cheney's Energy Task Force meetings, which likely met with Enron and Haliburton among others to determine national energy policy. In bed with the electric companies = you get screwed. - Lying in numerous State of the Union addresses (aka: to Congress and the entire nation), which certainly counts as a high crime or misdemeanor post-Clinton. - massively anti-enviroment, so much so that Christie Todd Whitman, ex-Jersey Governor [Republican] resigned as head of the EPA in disgust. All began with the backing out of the Kyoto treaty. Bush is on record as saying that Global Warming is bull, again against all scientific opinion on the subject - John Dean, former Nixon Aide, publically lists quite a few other Bush lies in his ridiculously sourced book, "Worse then Watergate." The man worked for NIXON and he's saying this... - And finally, because this is long enough already, the genocide in Somalia currently vastly outpaces anything Saddam EVER did to his own people. There goes the "Saddam is an EVIL MAN" excuse, so now there is NO REASON for iraq. NONE. Unless Bush goes into Somalia, which he isn't. Know why not? Somalia has NO NATURAL RESOURCES (ala OIL) So in essence Bush has flip flopped on every major promise he's ever made besides the one to go to Iraq and to fight gay marriage. On the other hand, as Kerry has not been President yet, he has no official policy to flip flop on, only a campaign platform to revise as issues come up. It's called "Learning"...if you burn your hand once will you touch the hot object again? Didn't think so. Iraq sounded good before when Saddam allegedly had evil WMD, anyone with 2 brain cells and isn't in this Administration can see it's a bad idea now and the president lied about it. Bush makes open references to "God influencing his policy" when the president is supposed to be secular. He has been quoted as saying that God appointed him President after the recounts Considering as the election is a referendum on the President's skill in doing his job for the past 4 years, there's no way in -*BAD WORD*- i'd vote for him.
  15. Are you joking? Or just insane... If anything, Rumsfeld has decreased military spending due to his "quick strike" mentality, the 87 billion doesn't count as it's for Haliburton and Infastructure. That mentality sounds like Bush except for the welfare bit should be at 0%....if you were being sarcastic it's a good attempt
  16. This was in the middle of a fugging CIVIL WAR. Postponement can only mean something fishy's going on...like....i dunno...perhaps this... I don't want to imply that Bush would use terror for personal gain...oh wait...he did already by, among other things, trying to using 9/11 images in campaign ads, and that little thing called the Patriot Act, and that Big Mess called the Iraq War, etc etc etc
  17. Delic's wonderful point is that changing even 1 ship setting in a finely tuned cfg file will result in problems with either gameplay or ship balance. This is why I'm not taking any more concerns about these sets. If you want to gripe, do it with the 90% done ?go tobeta ones
  18. Bush's National Guard records were mysteriously destroyed a few days ago... -*BAD WORD*- like that is what makes me phear Cheney* getting a blank check to use the military. (aka, getting reelected). Considering we're already using obscure draft callups and all to fill the gaps in the military, can a draft be too far behind? *- (What, you thought Bush was the president? rofl...they are Pinky and the Brain, while Kerry and Edwards are Bert and Ernie)

  24. As has been reported in the New York Times among other sources following the Ashcroft testimony, a series of legal memoranda was drafted for the White House advising that the President in specifics and the Exectutive Branch (which includes the Military) in general. These advise that the Commander in Chief would be exempt from charges of torturing prisoners of war [a war crime] due to his having the authorization to protect the country by any means necessary. This has a few serious flaws, the first of which being the absolute destruction of the Geneva Convention, which is pretty much the only thing that keeps out captive soldiers from having Hanoi Hilton's pulled on them on a daily basis in wartime. If this authorization holds up, the next Saddam (and there will be another one someday ) will think himself able to torture people legally too, if not use WMD LEGALLY to defend his country from the evil "terrorist invaders". Goodbye rules of war, we knew ye well, because as the "sole superpower" in the world, our legal precidents tend to effect the world in a large way. Secondly, this has bad tidings for the Bush Admin, because of the White House recieving these memoranda, not the Pentagon itself. This means that someone is trying to cover their -*BAD WORD*- and KNEW about the Iraq prison scandals, whether it's Ashcroft, Rumsfield, Cheney, Rice, or Bush we have no way of knowing yet. They're lucky Reagan died to keep this sort of stuff off the Times front page 2 days ago. Finally, our esteemed Attorney General Mr. Ashcroft is stonewalling the inquiry into these do-*BAD WORD*-ents. Why?
  25. Lanc modded sucessfully. And yes sever, that was fairly close to my original terr design, which I think i'll try. Other then that, everything looks pretty darn good from my vantage point atm, particularly the wb vs jav little thing I see developing, which I didn't plan on
