Cool, thanks! v7 of my Server Kit will come in three editions: Subgame2 Edition Combo Edition (Subgame2 + ASSS) ASSS Edition The Subgame2 Edition won't be a whole lot different, but here is what I have so far:
-
Thanks! It is missing a few things though: QueuePackets Whether or not it is a setting defined in server.ini, server.cfg, or both (note: you cannot take [Cost]Recharge=0 from settings and put it into server.ini with the value 1337, as it will be ignored)

lol. A man's gotta do what he's gotta do.

Aye, yeah. I e-mailed L Y N X and PoLiX immediately after I posted that status check. I know L Y N X booted his back up, and PoLiX might have booted his up as well (he never responded to my e-mail, so I don't know). EDIT: Also, CRe is not working on anything statistics related. He's just programming the basic functionality for Subdir so that we can easily maintain a list of directory servers and have PHP update the status for each server for quick status checking. It won't be counting or totaling populations. (And he did find an correct and easy, low-bandwidth way of checking the status of directory servers.)

Dragonball Z has: [Routing] QueuePositions=1 QueuePackets=1 PosSendRadar=100 PosSendEdge=20 So then, I will assume these to be defaults since they match with yours. I hope they are correct. EDIT: And does anyone know what each one of these do?
-
Also, 2 lets you in the zone but requires you to be in permit.txt to be able to play in a ship. Not sure if I mentioned this. PS. I can't seem to get AutoPermissionID to work. Doesn't seem to do anything...? I've tried playing around with the files -- idblock, ipallow, ipblock, permit (all .txt). These files are identified in the HEX for subgame2.exe/fix.dll. idblock - One Machine ID (MacID) per line to "lock out" of the zone ipallow / ipblock - Can't get these to work? I don't know how to use these? permit - Uses PermissionMode. Using a value of 1 requires your username to be in permit.txt to login to the zone, while a value of 2 allows anyone to login but requires your username to be in permit.txt to play

That is a Subgame2 glitch, if anything. I have found Subgame2's population counter to sometimes glitch and not resync or recount for verification. "Stuck player" that never exited is how I would describe it from Subgame2's point of view. I am assuming you are seeing this in the Continuum menu, and not the zone listing via directory servers. Jackpot SVS is the one that has 5 bots, and it should show that in both directory server listings and hardcopy/offline listings. Yesterday I believe Realism Zone hit 4 or 5 concurrent players, or maybe that was the day before. EDIT: I think doc flabby should give Snrrrub's directory server a test for a week so that we can see if the numbers in the listings are still incorrect and whatnot. EDIT2: Also, I am not noticing any of the 'incorrect population numbers' you guys are mentioning, unless you are talking about ie SSCX Alpha West with 10 players -- that would be ssdir.playsubspace.com's responsibility. EDIT3: As of right now: sscentral.com = Offline or unknown ds1.krslynx.com = Offline or unknown nanavati.net = Offline or unknown ssdir.playsubspace.com = Online ds1.hlrse.net = Online sscentral.sscuservers.net = Offline or unknown dirserver.ssnecentral.net = Offline or unknown EDIT4: By the way, CRe is cooking up something for the old subdir website. EDIT5: I am going to assume that sscentral.com, ds1.krslynx.com, and nanavati.net crashed in a chain reaction. Why? Something to do with UpstreamServers and ZoneRefreshSeconds and one or more of the servers listed in UpstreamServers being offline at the time of being checked. This is why ds1.hlrse.net has a small list, because this problem forced me to disable UpstreamServers by setting ZoneRefreshSeconds to -1 so that it wouldn't crash. :X Just my theory.
-
Also, server.ini has these omitted (but are in the binary!): SyncJitter= AllVips= CheckPrizeDistribution= I think they go under [Misc]. There is also [Routing] [Routing] QueuePositions= QueuePackets= PosSendRadar= PosSendEdge= Default values anyone? EDIT: And if I *addword subspace to obscene.txt and I have ?obscene enabled on the client, and said "Dude I love subspace!" -- what would happen to that message? EDIT2: Misc notes for optimizing latency: * Increase [soccer]SendTime * Set [Prize]S3CTakePrizeReliable=0 * Remove all greeting and periodic messages

Yeah, I would like to see this as well, because I have not detected this (and still don't) for ds1.hlrse.net. Thanks for the info!

This is so incorrect. I'm not sure what makes you think we're doing text ads. If you have monitored the AdWords account, you would have known that we've been doing image-only advertisements for quite a long time now. Like I told you via IM, we stopped doing text ads loooooooooooong ago ever since we realized image advertisements got like 10x+ better performance. Text-based advertising is a thing of the past. EDIT: I apologize guys for the tone of my writing. I'm quite stressed at the moment, so please forgive me and do not take any of this personally.
-
Thought I would let you all know. PS. Google Advertising thread can be unpinned now. EDIT: Also, I would like to thank everyone who donated money for advertising! =) Over 100% of donation funds were allocated for advertising.

It's Alabama, anyway thanks for ruining the spam topic. I'll respond to my own post then. My wish is granted, but I now have a new-found security. The FBI watches my every move and documents my web-browsing. I wish a new continuum client would come out finally. Your wish has been granted, but it turns out that lolclient becomes a complete disaster and a new client has to be coded again. I wish for ASSS to get polished up to Subgame2 quality/ease some day so that newbies could utilize AS3 as they can to Subgame2's fullest -- straight out of the box.

Here is what I originally commented before testing, with The Ghost Ship's help: [Permission] AllowBadMachineId=1 // Allow users with invalid machine IDs AllowLowBandwidth=1 // Allow low bandwidth users MinimumSecondsToLogin=0 // Minimum number of ?usage seconds required to enter zone PermissionMaxPoints=0 // Maximum amount of points before you are disallowed to continue playing PermissionMode=0 // 0 = Disabled // 1 = Locked and requires name in permit.txt // 2 = Permission to enter when you attain x points (must use a shared scoreid) AutoPermissionPoints=0 // Minimum amount of points required to move on to the next zone AutoPermissionIDList=0 AutoPermissionMessage=Congratulations // Private arena message sent to player upon reaching criteria for next zone So I start trying it. 0 works fine, duh, that's default. 1 works as expected as well. 2 is where questions come up. [Permission] AllowBadMachineId=1 // Allow users with invalid machine IDs AllowLowBandwidth=1 // Allow low bandwidth users MinimumSecondsToLogin=0 // Minimum number of ?usage seconds required to enter zone PermissionMaxPoints=1000 // Maximum amount of points before you are disallowed to continue playing PermissionMode=2 // 0 = Disabled // 1 = Locked and requires name in permit.txt // 2 = Permission to enter when you attain x points (must use a shared scoreid) AutoPermissionPoints=0 // Minimum amount of points required to move on to the next zone AutoPermissionIDList=0 AutoPermissionMessage=Congratulations // Private arena message sent to player upon reaching criteria for next zone // 2 = Permission to enter when you attain x points (must use a shared scoreid) At least that is what it was supposedly. This does the same thing as 1, but it has to do something else too...I just don't know how and what. 2 should be != to 1. Also, I tried 3, and that's the same as 0. What I am trying to do is recreate zone leveling from old times: 1. LAN Level 1 2. LAN Level 2 3. LAN Level 3 For Level 1, I want to require a minimum number of points to play in the zone to be 0, minimum number of points to be able to advance to Level 2 to be 900, and maximum points allowed before being disallowed to join the zone to be 1000. For Level 2, I want to require a minimum number of points to play in the zone to be 900, minimum number of points to be able to advance to Level 2 to be 1900, and maximum points allowed before being disallowed to join the zone to be 2000. For Level 3, I want to require a minimum number of points to play in the zone to be 1900, minimum number of points to be able to advance to Level 4 to be 2900, and maximum points allowed before being disallowed to join the zone to be 3000. Also, any clue what this does? AutoPermissionIDList=0 EDIT: Also using Subbill. Catid's SSBilling2 does not support sharing of scoreids.

Thank you very much Swift! =D Teacher was also gracious enough to extend the due date for everything by a whopping week.

RAVE Toadball is back up, hosted by Eight. :\ I don't think he thinks that you guys are being serious and his material has really been very popular. (Which I think is why he didn't send the files to me.)

1.The difference between BlueT zones and SSCV zones is that BlueT is connected to Isometry whereas SSCV is connected to SSC billing network. 2. I just checked each directory server in the following string: sscentral.com ds1.krslynx.com nanavati.net ssdir.playsubspace.com ds1.hlrse.net I checked by clicking on Zones, copying and pasting one of those addresses into the field (from Notepad), hitting download, scrolling down and verifying that there are four SSCV zones in the list, then hitting Cancel and repeating this with the next address. The four SSCV zones are (separated by comma): SSCV Dragonball Z, SSCV World War 3, SSCV Trench Wars (DEV), SSCV Cold Fusion 2. EDIT: I think those "cache" issues are ssdir.playsubspace.com's fault. Every directory server in that string I provided are running Snrrrub's directory server, except for doc flabby's which runs his own Central directory server. If you frequently check each directory server (like me) using the same instructions I detailed, you will find that ds1.hlrse.net, having UpstreamServers (leeching/clustering) disabled via ZoneRefreshSeconds (set to -1), shows no problems and never has. If another Linux copy of Snrrrub's directory could be launched, but with UpstreamServers disabled, it would further aid in semi-complete debugging to trace problems. Reason being is because ds1.hlrse.net is the only Windows server in the list. However, I doubt there would be a difference "bug-wise" between the Linux and Win32 versions, but it would only further support my conclusions that 99% of the list errors are coming from ssdir.playsubspace.com 2. EDIT2: Though technically one could make the accusation that maybe UpstreamServers, when enabled, is not functioning correctly. In that case, one would have to remove every directory server from UpstreamServers except for (1) directory servers having UpstreamServers disabled, like ds1.hlrse.net, (2) Priit's directory servers, assuming they would still be online, and (3) does not run doc flabby's Central (because we are testing THIS as the breakpoint/failing point). This setup would very quickly reveal whether it is ssdir.playsubspace.com at fault or UpstreamServers in Snrrrub's directory server being buggy.

One of my ENG-150 Technical Writing assignments for the past weekend is to find someone in the career field of my choosing (Network Administrator / System Administrator / Systems Network Administrator / Network Technician) and interview them. Basically I just need the following questions: How did you prepare for the career or position you have now? (I need to know what position and career you have too.) What college course work or other training was most useful? What types of activities fill your typical working day? What features of your career do you like the most? The least? What personality characteristics are most useful to someone in your career? How would you describe the long-term outlook of your field? How do you expect your career to develop in the next 5 years, 10 years, or 15 years? Do you know any books, periodicals, or online sources that might help me find out more about your field? This assignment is due tomorrow. :S I have been looking all weekend, even e-mailed my boss (who never got back with me; I work remotely btw). I would greatly appreciate some help. *shamed*

Booble babble! Your wish has been granted, only to find out that Audrey -- being made of kryptonite -- is your weakness. I wish for a wish with no limits or conditions so that I could make a wish with no limits or conditions to make a wish with no limits or conditions for making a wish with no limits or conditions.

You should find someone to play it with, at least one person. When there is at least 2 players (including self), there are a reasonable number of greens. The settings are made by The Ghost Ship, and they are specialized SVS settings. The default SVS settings are like this: all ships are relatively the same, but with 1 to 2 unique minor perks. The Ghost Ship's settings are like this: each ship has a unique outstanding personality, with emphasis on the implied traits from the SS intro and the ship descriptions from the old Subspace v1.34 client. The Warbird has good rotation and excellent for taking out heavy ships like the Leviathan. It butt-thrusts bombs pretty well. The Javelin has superb speed and afterburners (almost up to rocket speed), and excellent for hunting down people. I think this is the only ship that starts with antiwarp as well. The Spider is your cloak and stealth ship (good for ambushes and such). The Leviathan is excellent for bomb volley (something you would want to avoid getting caught in), but is vulnerable during bomb volley. It can also have up to 10 turrets attached, unlike the other ships with 1 to 2 attachments max. The Terrier is a good overall starter ship with 1000 spawn bounty. Use this to get points via kills so that you can have enough points to use a different ship (against the other ships, the Terrier would be a poor choice). The only dual cannon ship. The Weasel has EMPs -- you don't want to get hit with these, as it makes you very vulnerable. The Lancaster offers instant kills with direct bomb hits, and almost instant kills via its bomb shrap (which moves smoothly and beautifully like a nuclear blast) -- hence the description of experimental bomber. The Shark is good for scouting, bullet volley (like Leviathan except for bullets), quick recharge, gravity drive (not affected by wormhole gravity at all) but only a maximum of 200 health. If you're smart, you can warp out of tight situations easily, unless you're being hunted by a Javelin. With multifire, you have a reasonable angle of attack to fire out a volley of bullets. It's sort of like a literal interpretation of the ship descriptions. Each ship is unique in personality (unlike the default SVS settings). Each ship has their tradeoffs and cons. Turf flags allow for sectoral conquest via frequencies (teams), squads, and all-out-war/free-for-all pilots. Not only are they a sidedish for points (100 points per flag per periodic reward), but allow for basing and conquest. There are 198 turf flags. EDIT: With even a small group of players of about 5 to 15 people, you might find players fighting over safety zones (to use ?buy), greens, and sectors of the map (turf flags). For ships other than the Terrier, greening and the usage of ?buy is critical. With even two players, there is an adequate supply of greens to keep things interesting (while not overdone). Ultimately, I recommend that you grab at least 1 friend to try out the zone. Ask The Ghost Ship for more information about his settings and its design.

Feature request: Map/selection filters like in Photoshop
L.C. replied to L.C.'s topic in Drake Continuum Map Editor
But that's not why I suggested the idea. You could easily make maps look like warzones if you use the tile palette within the editor to stir things up. If you did it using the image import, you would have to go and retile all those tiles -- plus the final product probably wouldn't be as accurate as it would and should be in comparison to using an in-editor filter. For example: you could randomly place a wormhole in a tight junction of an SVS map. But before you place that wormhole, you would set the filter origin where you'd place the wormhole -- or even make a square-based selection. Then you use the twirl filter. Then you place your wormhole. Then the final result would look like the tiles have been moved by the wormhole and are spiraling into the wormhole. -
Babble booble! Your wish has been granted, but in the restroom you find out that she is a he. I wish Audrey were a man and changed his username to Charlie.

Yea I understand why he would have took the zone down. Regardless, I'm sure quite a few people would like to see it back up. Soo does anyone have the files?
