I have a similar problem on my laptop (Windows XP), continuum keeps destroying and launching itself over and over (ex, the PID in the taskmanager keeps increasing) This happens on every account which belongs to the group Administrators. However when I run continuum as an normal user (which has full file access to the continuum folder), the problem disappears. Another option that also works is checking "Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity" in the run as dialog. What this basically does is remove any powerful permissions, and read only permission to the registry. The downside to this is that continuum does not save anything in the registry, which means no stored passwords, etc. Perhaps something you can check out
Try this, Save Subinacl.exe in C:\windows\system32\ Start -> run -> cmd Type / paste the command: subinacl /subdirectories C: /grant=administrators=f I can assume the folder is on your C: drive?
If i recall correctly, windows XP home still allows you to access those settings under safe mode. If it doesn't work under safe mode there are some alternatives, try this: http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/reset-th...-in-windows-xp/
Can you enter hyperspace in safe mode + networking? In safe mode, windows uses the default graphics drivers. If it crashes again, it is not a graphics driver problem
What is the folder named? Is it something similar to COM1, NUL, LPT1, ETC, AUX? If so, find out the full path, go to a command prompt and enter: rd \\.\C:\PATH\TO\FOLDER I highly doubt this is your problem, but it may be worth checking.
Dr. Watson is an application debugger in windows. It saves a log file + crash dump of the crashed application. It has nothing to do with your BSOD. If you want to prevent your computer from rebooting after a BSOD, follow this page http://www.windowsreference.com/windows-xp...rts-in-xpvista/ Note the error code, look it up here: http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm You *may* be able to find more info in the event viewer: start->run->"eventvwr.msc". You can find more info about event id's here: http://www.eventid.net/search.asp
I have that sometimes when it fails to download the .css file. If it always happens it is most likely an issue in your settings (Try: View -> Page Style -> Basic Page Style)
A tick in continuum is 10ms. This has to do with many settings and the frequency the server and continuum check their socket for data. So it could be possible it polls the input devices every 10ms to. Here's my keyboard:
For the next big setting overhaul you could consider getting rid of the lanc. Instead of a dep / anchor / mother ship the lanc would just be another ship to fight with. In place of the lanc, all big ships would be attachable. Ofcourse the settings in general would have to modified to balance it out, to avoid having an invincible defending team.
hehe the zone is hosted on my server atm. However I also use that to download movies, so that explained the lag, I am done downloading now tho. And its a new game type, not CTF/Turf/etc
In my opinion, only exp should be removed. Exp forces you somewhat to buy things in a specific order (of course exp is not per ship, but it still applies).
Engine failure uses level 4 thor, but I am pretty sure all players use level 1 thor. In other words, thors can only be made stronger. And *thor 99 is the same as *thor 3. There are only 4 levels
