I wondered how a game like this would do on a console. Cause normally they're a lot easier to play on PC, but man. Any issues I would of thought of they have covered, and I've easily killed 8hrs of play since downloading it yesterday. I started having my doubts after I pre-ordered it and a few people mentioned how it probably would be hard or suck on console compared to PC, but every doubt is gone from my mind. I want the full game now... damn it. haha. Try it out, you won't be dissapointed. Hell, it's got my looking for my old starcraft cds again.

3 82.111.97.129 99.0 20 20 20 This seems to be your issue. So it is outside of your own control. I would call your ISP and talk to them about it. Say you are getting a lot of packetloss to sites and games, and when you've traced multiple this IP on your 3rd hop, 1st after easynet, is causing it all. Normally you're not alone and they'll test their connection, find it, and try to resolve it. Especially being just a hop from them.

XBox uses 3 3000 range ports, so doubt they blocked anything high port wise. Though they may have just opened up 3073-3075 for it... But I bet it wouldn't hurt to go ask them about it.

From what I hear, Easynet to the UK is like Hopone to the US. And sadly, you have them both. Hopone is terrible for routing. They're traced in 9/10 of the lag problem threads you'll find through our forum. Sadly, there is little anyone has ever been able to do beyond switching ISPs or just waiting it out. From another game I play which is mostly supported and played in the UK, easynet is the same thing for them. Always laggy, and causes a lot of the lag issues people have when looking through traces. Now it is odd that it just started on a new pc. I would 2x check your firewall and connection settings. Do "Add Custom" and put in these ip addresses with port as . Then do a trace for 100-200 cycles (the more the better). 74.125.45.100 (Google.com) 67.225.196.106 (SSForum/SSDownloads) 212.58.224.138 (BBC) 216.91.182.78 (Savvis) Just a few websites I'd like to see how you route to them, and see if it is local or not.

Basic website, Wordpress or Drupal. Something more advanced, sometimes Joomla or CMSmadesimple will do best. They're a bit more customizable/editable without having to modify much.

Lot of people experiencing it, including myself. But have yet to find the sole problem. I know it must be with apache, as when SSF, SSC, MGCTF, HS, SSDL, etc. won't load, I login to ftp and it loads fine, no issues. Or I can even be ftping stuff and sites suddenly won't load. Gonna mention it to TT again, but last time he couldn't find anything, nor ever experienced this. Though I'm not sure how often he browses the sites.

Mm, this could take a bit of work. Guessing you have windows firewall on possibly. Goto Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall If this is on, make sure Don't Allow Exceptions isn't checked, and click on the exceptions tab at the top. At the bottom of the list, click add Program and either choose or browse for Continuum. Then you should be set. If not Windows Firewall, then may be in your router if you use one. That or is this your own PC or Families? As someone else may have a firewall installed.

Check your firewall settings. Need to allow continuum on all ports if possible.

Watching this going on kind of get this weird feeling watching all of this, all the people. This is history, wheter you like it or not. But even getting SSC won't get you anywhere. Yeah, you can talk to people in other SSC zones. But if you can't get players to support your zone off SSC, getting SSC won't help. In all honesty it cut my zone's pop in half, and killed quite a few zones over time. Look at Fusion for the most recent example. The 1st zone in years that got population off SSC and had a large following. Once it got SSC it slowly began its downfall. Not saying you shouldn't get it, cause by todays standards, you've long met them. Just saying, SSC isn't everything. Don't expect it to turn your zone around overnight. If anything, you'll have more work ahead of you, as most players think SSC zones without pop are dead, or noone wants to play them. Can thank all the merged but still online and dev ssc zones for that.

When I was working on/running zones (2000), you only had SSCE (Ghost Ship's SSCE), SSCU (BD_Vine), and SSCX (Was only Xalimar at the time) as choices for SSC (Besides T3 The Gauntlet itself having SSC). If non of those servers picked you up (VERY rare) and gave you SSC you didn't get it. I had a zone with constant 60+ pop, and peaking over 100 a few times, and it took almost 2yrs to finally get SSC, and we we're the 1st server in 2-3yrs at that time to be allowed SSC access outside of the major servers. Now adays you just have to know the right people and be on 1 of the many with access. Lots of SSC zones and zones who get SSC who really didn't work for it, or don't need it, but they have or got it anyways.

There is advertising and then there is advertising. Most zones don't care, if you ASK. Even some with rules against it will occasionally be nice, or you'll catch the right op in the right mood and they'll zone it. Starting a zone in the current state of this game is hard if you expect it to really go anywhere, which is why most developers have just attached onto zones. Though trust me, it was harder in the past, much harder.

Ah. So SSA. Snrrrub is part of those things going on that will somewhat be announced shortly. So doubt he's had anytime to think about SSC zones. Also, just give it time right now. Patience for all will pay off in the coming months, all I can say there.

Never assume you know everything going on. Just wait til SSForum's next newsletter. Going to be A LOT of interesting updates on it. And it won't even be everything going on as of late. Now as for the SSC, I honestly myself can't say I've seen any non-ssc zones pulling any sort of population. Nor do I even know what zone it is you run? I'd say this is probably your problem. If your zone isn't well known and popular, it probably isn't going anywhere. Edit: Was just told your zone is Armada Assail? A zone that in the past month has had an average pop of 0? And it doesn't look like you yourself have even spent anytime in?

It all depends actually. A lot of levels have hidden mechs that you can find and use, or just run them on foot. I'd say its 60:40 foot:mech if you use all the mechs.
