  1. Ok... because you guys can't seem to read. WE HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH A RELEASE CANDIDATE AS LONG AS WE HAVE BEEN USING IPB (6yrs and counting) Sadly we have witness others having issues, but have gotten lucky. Finally, we're the ones biting the bullet. This skin, IS THE skin IPB is releasing. The skin won't change. So we've either gotta get use to it, or I'll open donations for VB license. I won't use SMF due to the fact it lacks a lot of features we use (especially some admin side), and the fact I sat and watched a buddy of mine crack his way into a SMF forum and take over admin in like 2 mins (IE: why I joked about SSCouncil's forum, cause I know it can easily be done). I was thinking of using SMF for a forum for another project of ours, and he said "hell no" and decided to show me why. As for IPB and vBulletin, they have their flaws, but have never had issues with them the many years I have used them.
  2. I'll look at the error logs.
  3. Really, I think that other programs are the underlying problem of half of the issues we get on this forum. Just give thanks to the way Priit packs continuum. Programs think it is either a virus or spyware 9/10.
  4. ah, it said SyrusMX earlier.
  5. http://forums.invisionpower.com/tracker/issue-14778-30-rc1-high-cpumemory/ watch and wait
  6. Also, we've installed MANY RC1s without any issue, if anyone even noticed, but this one is the worst yet. The betas didn't even have quite as many bugs as this RC1 has had, though they warned us to not install the Betas live, so what do you expect. Put em to the real test, and see what happens. I'm gonna ride through it, as all the bugs I have posted are being set as Confirmed, so the fact we're finding them is helping fix this forum. Normally a lot of the bugs reported we never see, but we're not only seeing some of the reported ones, but we're reporting ones ourselves. So we're finally one of the unlucky forums who gets to have issues.
  7. Yeah, they're error type threads. I actually noticed some issues the other day on the server when I looked at the status in WHM. It wasn't from us, but it only had like 40mb of ram left and Apache's CPU usage was through the roof, same with MYSQL. Forget the users, but one was a site that was dead, rubdepot or something. Dunno what was up, but yeah.
  8. Microsoft dropped most support for IE6 after the last service pack, and plans to fully discontinue it here I think next year? As in no more security updates, etc. This was a large topic on IPB forums for a while, but the thing is, IE6 users will begin being hit with messages telling them to upgrade. A lot of websites have already added this message, and more major ones will in time.
  9. don't like it. VB and IPB have all the functions and additions we need for special projects we do around here. I am going to upload a modified style. It shrinks down the forum index and topic list pages. Lemme know what you guys think. It isn't a HUGE improvement, but it is a improvement.
  10. if things don't get better... I am seriously debating converting back to vBulletin. Been with IPB for 6yrs now, but its getting tiredsome since they went charge.
  11. huh?
  12. Tried it, but no go... Dunno wth is up.
  13. Yeah, Spoiler2 got removed upon upgrade... though I had to re-add it... this is very possible though... Mind editing out the code of all those posts and we'll test that theory?
  14. nice find GameTime: http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?app=tracker&showissue=13491&st=0#entry54886
  15. What page are those errors on, and what version of FF? (They will ask if I post anything about it)
  16. And don't feel you're skin thoughts are being ignored. "It's too fat" "Everything oversized" etc. Comments from many IPB users throughout this skinning experience, and now there is a thread "What do your members think?" and now our forum members are thinking the same thing. Don't think IPB can continue thinking it is just us license holders. Hopefully they'll make some changes, or I'll have to with Final. The CSS editor in ACP is bugged, but hoping to be fixed for RC2.
  17. Finally found the settings to turn it all off. Also report center permissions fixed.
  18. I noticed this in the editors in ACP but was reported... surprisingly enough noone reported the editing bugs in a topic yet. Have had a few people mention it to me with IE7, but didn't look until this morning to find it wasn't reported. http://forums.invisionpower.com/tracker/issue-14715-editing-topic-scrolling-white-space/ All for you Hakaku. edit: Also, does FF tell you what the CSS errors are? I'd like to search for them and post them if not a bug reported.
  19. I forgot about the new search stuff Hakaku. At the bottom of a forum/topic is "Search this Forum"/"Search this Topic".
  20. 1. The fonts need resized, yes. 2. Almost all the buttons, and things that use to be images are now CSS, so easy to change. 3. Download Now! will be broken until IP.Downloads RC1 is released. 4. Lots of IE8 problems they are addressing. 5. Upgrader deleted all the moderators, but fixed that (40mins of work...) 6. I accidently deleted the emoticons, plan to re-upload em once I download em again. 7. HS was the 1st RSS feed to be added, that was the same on 2.3.x, though I do like the new location 8. I agree on the Search. But clicking advanced still has a pretty minimal search, so eh. 9. Fast Reply... yeah... I dunno wth they we're thinking there. 10. Scrolling issue? Hmm. I do like being able to unapprove posts, report center (no more just pms or e-mails, a whole section dedicated to reporting posts), mark a person as a spammer for anyone who can warn in the forum they are spamming in which marks their posts invisible (admins can delete user/modify/etc.), and quite a few other features. Oh, and Messenger. PMs can now have up to 6 participants and it acts like a private thread. That and lots more admin features, and minor other features/changes. I'm sure by Final a lot of these bugs will be fixed. I think already ~40 bugs have been fixed for RC2, and hoping my report of #5 is another. But that is what Release Candidates are for.
  21. Steady populations, and write an e-mail to Ghost or a SSC member to forward to the council requesting it.
  22. Today, maybe right now, D1st0rt is getting his diploma and graduating from college. Only seems like yesterday he was starting... how the years go by training these little admins into something big and special for the real world
  23. Today was 2 week mark on the "In 2 weeks or so". So seems like the "or so" is the case. Only been waiting for 3.0 since Nov/Dec... whats a few more days... Once 3.0 is installed will get everything back up and running, and will be installing IP.Converge so other forums can hook up to SSF to share databases and logins. Will also make it easier to have SSO connect to SSF.
  24. Well if anyone wants to decipher the exact quote as they wish, I decipher it as a possibility free at 1st, but some say it sounds like never. So yes, once they do this (if), we can grab their players with our free one.
