That was honestly the date he gave. This is out of his control. The host shut everything down not him. Unlike most wish to assume, the biller isnt even on the same server as the zones. Heck its not even in the same region of the us. So it being up has no connection to his servers or the datacenter.

E-mailed him asking for an update. Will have to wait and see I guess.

Priit's servers were due to be back up today, but still seem down...

I count 5 zones that are no longer online on ssdir.playsubspace.com, 4 of which showing population of "10". Also it changed my ip for Extreme Games to the wrong ip. Not that I have any issues with these backup servers being there just in case, but they have issues still in need of work. I'll stick with sscuservers.net for now.

That license was an agreement between you and the defunct Virgin Interactive Entertainment, and the use of the SubSpace client. The Continuum client license is an agreement between you and the online game network it supports. And if you read the first paragraph, last sentence: The SSC Network has rules and expectations that zones agree to upon connection to the SSC biller. There is also a group of BanG admins for the reason of fairness of decision. At the time of your ban there were 4, and all 4 were in agreement to remove you from the SSC Network per request of DSB, per the network ban policy, and per the license as previously shown. Network Ban Policy section #3 -------------------------- Back to the subject at hand. Hopefully tomorrow PriitK's server should be back online. Will keep everyone updated with what we know as we know it on that subject.

I'd agree if the other ones would also properly purge zones and not duplicate zones when they moved servers. Also did they ever finally remove the offline SSCX/SSCU zones they had to manually program in? For some time Star Warzone was still on those directory servers even though it had been shutdown for a couple years. My apologies, added text to fix it for color blind.

Awesome if EVERYONE in the game was an american citizen, but they are not. I love when people try to use the constitution on the internet as it typically shows how much they're trying to grapple to prove their point; not even considering that that constitution has no standing on the internet. "But the American constitution says I can say whatever I wish about you Mr. Putin!" Perfect real life example. Buddy of mine is a redskins fan, and always causes a ruckus at Seahawks games when they come to play us here. Gets drunk, gets in fights, gets kicked out. Being it was his third time he is permanently banned from the stadium and all establishments connected to it. Or going with the restaurant one. If you are harassing another customer, they can ask you to leave. If you continue to harass from outside and cause issues, they can kick you off the property or call the police. You continue, they normally call the police. If you continue harassing them and arguing with the police you end up in jail. In jail you no longer have the free will to go wherever you please. Think of your net-ban as jail time. DSB removed you, you kept harassing from a distance. Netop got involved, you began harassing them too. So you in turn were taken to jail/given a net-ban. Also, your ignore comment only works on people who don't keep changing aliases to bypass the ignores. Hmm, Just like you did Finally, lines 5 & 6 of the license you agreed to in order to play continuum: Don't like the actions that you agreed to being taken against you, then you shouldn't have agreed to allow them to be in the first place.

I only see one on my directory list.

Noone lost anything. And it isn't a host issue.

Word has it Powerball might not be returning. Seems there was one casualty in all of this.

HZ back online, but on a new server so update your lists. Also since he is alive, put Priit together an update on the ips so new HZ server is on SSC; GW/T3 should be back on SSC when they recycle, and Powerball and Deva when they get back online.

A biller is probably the simplest bit of ss you can program. Why don't you guys just make one yourselves.

Pretty sure this person already used his cash for this attack. No more money involvement needed
-
The attack wasn't only an attack on the servers themselves. Heck, last I heard from Powerball they hadn't really detected any direct attacks on their server. They were also going after multiple nodes, and caused outages beyond just our servers. This is being carried out by someone with knowledge of networking, and a lot of hardware and bandwidth at their control.
-
This attack wasn't exactly a "I'm going to take down the servers today" style attack. This had thought and planning put in by the details coming in from the servers and hosts. The shear amount of bandwidth being used in this attack was put one way as "DDoS attack of multiple 10s of gigabits". It will take a few days for everything to recover, but in the mean time if anyone hears of or knows of any details, please pass them on.

Rules are rules. Advertising is illegal in most zones. Seen it posted quite a few times and I have only been in the zone a few minutes. I understand the circumstances, but he is fit to run his zone as he wishes. GJ restoring some trench to the team.

Situation with links pointing to hlrse.net/subspace

try this one? dirserver03.zip -
He is... just abusing the non-ssc zones / zones not connected to the db at the moment... Downside is he might find a net-ban when everything returns... who knows

Well, based on the style of attack... doubtful connected. Just very odd things spiked up recently, then receive e-mail about all of this too.
-
Yea, was just curious as these were from the same subnet. Everytime I blocked went to another one.
-
Mind asking for a few of the IPs? I wanna see if any match the ones slamming SubSpace.co for the past couple days. Cpanel been going nuts on login fails. Doubt any connection, but just interesting nonetheless.

Well, the biller is online and operating. At least that is 1 less thing to have to worry about getting working again once this stuff is resolved.
