Not even going to get into this debate. But I am showing the 3 clients, and I am going to do it somehow. Swift brought up the same issue, so I plan to find some way to incorporate it. We as a player base gave huge support to continuum, and it kept the project alive and running. I hope to see the same come out of Discretion. If you read all my posts, you'd understand what is going to go in there. I don't want to follow the normal, I want to be different. And an Idea Bajan had is in my mind. "The Heart of Subspace War", well wth is the battle scenes? HINT Left - Users Online | Center - "Don't have Continuum? Download it here and join the fun" somethin along those lines | Right - Players Online Yeah. I've always been good at logos, and other parts of design, get a lot of detail into it. But when it comes to the content areas, I'm always lacking. Cause I want to keep them simple, but eye catching, and always spend the most time on that part of the design. Thnx.

It is pretty much the same once I add the text back and the fighting ships into the logo. 1st looked too plain, like the bar under the logo was 10px bigger and just plain and nothin planned to go on it. This one I have plans for the white sections on it. And the left and right border, rather then just being a simple 4px line border has some character to it now. What I'm enjoying about all of it, is it is mostly just a 1px design. Beyond the logo, it has just been using a 1x1 pencil, and doing a lot of tedious drawing. But that is how I use to design, and I feel more comfortable and fine with it again. I remember people use to love my tilesets, but never believed I did most of the work in tileedit (love that program still to this day).

Do what you gotta do. Your a reliable staff member, and so you will stay. I'll just add 1 more to help cover if seems needed.

Updated: Changes: Background - Issues brought up by swift Border - Issues brought up by a few people Logo - Personal Issues with the text Content Layout - Dislike by a few people, so will make another attempt Don't have a lot of time over the next few days to spend on it, but will do what I can when I can.

The logo Bak has has it Yellow, so I put it yellow.

the nav bar will be the entire width of the browser. That was just to pull the design of the site in to match it. http://www.subspace.ws - Like that.

So I haven't designed in ages, and as you've seen with the nav bar, it takes me a lot of tinkering to pull something sweet outta my !@#$%^&*. This is maybe 25mins of work. I scrapped 3 previous versions, and then finally pulled the nav bar into the design and followed it. It needs a lot more work done... Logo is going to have more detail into it (tiny ships battling), and the layout can be modified some. But so far the idea I'm going for. Right now my eyes are doing their normal "you've been looking at photoshop for over and hr, so we're gonna tweak out and make things spin" thing, so stopped for now. I WANT INPUT, BAD OR GOOD - Updated Jan 14th Input: Colors to add, or if colorful enough. Maybe ideas for how to do links/news layout. As I've said, only 20-25mins of work, cause my head is gettin to me. But do you guys like the idea of where it is going? I plan to make the headers for sections pretty detailed also. News will probably have some tiny chat lines in it, technical a blown up ship, etc.

Me, at the time, there wasn't many other zones outside VIE's servers. SSX !EXTREME GAMES! just stood out and the name sounded cool. Nothing big on population, but with a name like that, had to be something interesting in it. Been my home zone for years now.

... Wow' date=' gj Polix. [/b'] ... The BOLDED parts are the ones that have really kept me from finishing/fixing the following: do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('<option value="t3g">T3 The Gauntlet (SSC)</option>'); do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('</optgroup>'); /* do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('<optgroup label="---------------------------------------">'); */ /* do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('<option value="nonssc_1">Zone Name</option>'); */ /* do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('<option value="ssdc_1">Zone Name</option>'); */ /* do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('<option value="ssdc_2">Zone Name</option>'); */ /* do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('<option value="ssdc_3">Zone Name</option>'); */ /* do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('<option value="sst_1">Zone Name</option>'); */ /* do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('<option value="sst_2">Zone Name</option>'); */ /* do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('</optgroup>'); */ do!@#$%^&*ent.writeln('</select>'); It came up in discussion, and the idea was with my code update to add them, but how does "Screw you PoLiX", make me care to do anything? Just because I say I don't want to keep up with it, doesn't mean someone else won't step up and do it, or talk me into it, which the later was the outcome. But hey... I'm self-centered, and have fully rejected all non-ssc zones, yep.

Not a lot anyone can do. It was the same issue when ThePlanet began having some lag issues, and lot of servers we're based out of it. The downside to no longer having servers spread throughout the country.

Any info you can give us on the laptops?

This is the one post that is the only one that made no sense to me. SVS has always used the same idea of tiles, shared bases, map ideas, and all use the same basic setting ideas... I don't get it...

And this game was copyrighted by a UK based company. Does that have any effect? Atleast the UK Copyrights that is.

Just the planned finish structure. Some won't be released right in the initial release of the site, and more may be added/changed as time goes on.

Me and D+ have talked about this. But lot of SSCentral Staff/Admins and him have some harsh points with each other. If everyone would drop the !@#$%^&*, and we'd all focus together, some good !@#$%^&* could happen. I'd honestly have no problem working with D+, and am working to try and figure out a way to stabilize sscentral.com better (Which may end up being getting a VPS to control everything ourselves) and have everything running smooth again. We've got the dedicated people, it is just me, the leader, is having some issues. Swift has his thing with WOW now, and mostly just handles the license for these forums now a days. I've stepped back in and taken the reigns, and T-Man will keep the domain alive as long as it is used, so we're safe there. I wanted this done by Jan 1st, but sometimes life takes priority, and the team agreed. But it is a still alive project, don't think it is dropped. I still do some content when I'm bored and my bro lets me chill on this for a while. I need to find a time to talk to Bajan, Death+, and Rowen, and figure !@#$%^&* out again.
-
hah. Yeah. I'm really debating... My car or my Computer... I want to !@#$%^&*ing get SSCentral done, i'm tired of issues coming up and slowing it down. Got a lot of content ready, just need the design and code done, and get something up and running finally. I am not dropping this. Once it is done, I can finally leave, and having no computer to get online (using my bros most the time), makes me care to less and less. So need to get it done... ha. If SSCentral was done... I'd say !@#$%^&* the computer, I barely use the internet as is, except to check on the forums, and hop on ss to say hi. Spent most my time on Ebay and 3Geez forums browsing car !@#$%^&* I couldn't afford 90% of anyways, so eh.

Heh. It would be a good idea to dust out your PC atleast once every month to keep it efficient, clean, and allow its lifespan to be maximized (atleast by this degree). Usually the only place I have dust problems in my PC (since I have about 14 or more fans) is in my Power Supply. However that problem is apparently solved for me now ever since I got a nice and new power supply. Wasn't the Dust that overheated it, there was next to none in it from the get go. I think it was the clip holding the heatsink down being broken, and not holding it to a full pressure contact. So it is like it is only cooling off onto part of the heatsink. Socket 478 bro... not Socket A... Intel Bajan: AsRock P4V88+ if I remember right. When I bought it, was only 2 boards above it, and now, it is the oldest they still give full support to, sob. What I got in this thing: Celeron D 2.4ghz 3x PQI 512mb PC3200 1x Corsair 1gb PC3200 with heatspreader Radeon 9550SE 256mb Video Card 80gb Seagate Barracuda SATAII HD (Running SataI) 40gb Western Digital IDE *DEAD* - I will revive it and get all my !@#$%^&* off of it 1 of these days. Sony 16x DVD-Burner... Gave my parents my DVD-Rom, so down to that 480watt Power Supply 6 Fans Have had this all for 2yrs now.

That would not get rid of the dust. it will only blow it out of the comp (and into your nose, office, etc.)What you really want is a PC Vacuum that actually sucks up the dust. Its a little more expensive, but at least the dust wont be in your office where it can get back into ur comp. Nah. It is all almost 100% clean now. I think it fried it, and possibly damaged the mobo from the heat. I maxed out at 94*C last night when I was on it for like 30mins trying to find some parts online, and then after that, all the !@#$%^&* hit the fan. I think the big problem is the heatsink is also not solidly locked down to the mobo. It is a bottom clip, bottom right to be exact, when the case is standing up, so not like it is a top and it is trying to fall off of it. But my grandmothers had the same issue, broken clip, suddenly major overheating. Hers was a 775, so just replaced it, and it cooled right back down. Mine is a 478, so it is "part" of the motherboard (on most), and non-replaceable. I just need to find a new mobo, processor, and probably case. This computer has done me well for the past 2yrs now, time to move on. Although I'm gonna keep low end, and keep the 2.5gbs of PC3200, and AGP Video card for now. It runs Q4, NFSMW, Source. and COD3 at pretty high settings, so I'm fine with it. Just don't got the cash to go higher right now, especially since I owe 2 people money, and putting that off while I try and sort this out.
-
ok, so after getting tired of it, I decided to clean out the little dust there was inside of the case. Nothin too bad, but never know, we've been finishing up drywalling the livingroom lately (Remodeling the house) and figured maybe that !@#$%^&* causes more !@#$%^&* then regular dust. Well, beyond one of the clips on my mobo that holds my heatsink down being broken, all was fine. I cleaned out the dust, put on some thermal grease I found lying around on an P4 2.4ghz's heatsink I'm not using. And it is still overheating. And now i'm lead to believe it might have done more damage to my computer then just my processor. It wouldn't even turn on last night. And kept beeping at me. Now when I load a page with a lot of images, and leave it open, my video card keeps flashing on and off. Monitor doesn't lose connection, just goes black and then back. Sounds like I'm gonna have to build a new computer, so might be a while.
-
So rather then totally fry my Processor, I've only been on for a few mins at a time throughout the day. Maybe 40mins total... SpeedFan - Temp2: 81*C I don't got the cash to just get a new heatsink, or thermal paste right now, so it's gonna be a while. Really has put a hinder on the progress on SSCentral. But not much was moving forward while Bajan was working on his new computer with the design aspect, and that is mostly what we we're waiting on.

Bajan: word on design? I pretty much have the structure planned out, and me and Bajan like it. So it is just getting the design together, and we'll be on the road people. I want to have this site up by the end of Jan. I know dev on it is slow to none, but just hard to get content together without a proper design and all. We'll see where things go shortly.
