Because subgame is the same software from '96 or whatever that has been _hacked_ a lot to support Continuum and its changes. On top of ASSS not being a great big ugly hackfest, it's much easier to port and has a lot of totally sweet features subgame will never have. That will be fixed eventually - but...honestly, I've always considered .38 much more buggy than .39pr1
