  1. if one person can do all of that while all of the rest of people are centering he shouldn't be getting any money at all because he's not doing anything warranting getting money because he's not playing a game with other people.
  2. fact is not everyone is playing the flag game constantly and it is not acceptable for people to be winning flag games that people aren't playing when it's priv vs the world, because of the insane reward factor they'd get like doc mentioned Don't you think teams get uneven enough already? It doesn't matter if your enemies are on the same team or not if they're both fighting you from two different flanks. Privs allows one team to be fought by more people at once than their team has, and the number of people fighting against them can still increase. At least now if you want to flank you are taking something away from one front and moving it to the other front, so it isn't really unfair at all. People have abused the 1 person privs to just lay fields in bases where the two main teams were fighting pretty much just to piss everyone off, so those people essentially ruined it for the rest of you. Not having privs doesn't create any fundamentally lame and broken things for the game, compared to having privs.
  3. wait so this guy is stealing my idea of allowing 0.9 person freqs (cut off a finger to play priv)? signature rescinded
  4. signed
  5. http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=22178 for numbers pulled out of someone's rear that are approximately close enough
  6. I'll return privs any time, but the catch is I'd be kicking people that abuse it. So it's really not worth my trouble because I know you guys will abuse it. That's why we haven't put it in.

    Zone Website

lol cached it's updated in real time but the website has some stupid cache going which fails miserably since it takes like 5015 years to update the cache
  8. It's pretty strong language to say that anyone's treating Brain's word like it's law especially given my OP to which you were responding. Like it was said, we were just agreeing with what he said. So clearly there is something going on (whether it be with me or not) and I'm sure you agree it doesn't belong. Sorry, Sama. Back on what's important: I don't trust anyone who hasn't already been involved in the SS community and especially development to even have a clue what to do for a new client needs. All of the resources in the world can't buy you experience or what you need to make a successful project (let alone a successful Continuum-replacement.) This is why existing projects, especially BaK's, which have been focused from the start on making a program that does things the right way, are promising. Anything that attempts to change the fundamental nature of what Continuum is or how it's ran messes with the formula that's made it so successful. If we don't take this opportunity, we may be acting stubbornly conservative (but that's nothing new,) but we know what works and frankly I don't think a random business would ever understand.
  9. No one said or implied anything of the sort, Ace. Keep your personal issues out of here. We just said that Brain pointed out all that needed to be said, and that is that ultimately zones are independent. There is not much of a Continuum community as a whole, it is by and large divided up into factions called zones. Some players play in multiple zones, but very few if any players play in ALL of them. Thus no one represents the Continuum community.
  10. well if you have a king bot or some system which spawns other bots what I said might not be true, but it won't be kicking players out of the zone.

    the newbs would love that

no one uses antiwarp either, read up space mines don't last forever
  13. Brain ended the thread... each individual zone is free to do as it wants.

except when they steal your flags
  15. I wouldn't trust MG's settings, I remember that zone being terribly misconfigured in that area, while other subgame zones worked as they should.
  16. Why are we bringing up something unrelated here? Apparently even you will troll now. No zone will let you stay in that long under normal circumstances obviously (although on Subgame I performed small miracles by hibernating my computer, turning it back on, and still being connected. definitely is a sysop only trick--they're immune to auto kick out, at least the one the regular setting controls.)

but they don't know how to make use of their brains unfortunately so they forget to hold down gun key lawl
  18. Money desyncs are common, if you lost your other ships then I'm with what Doc said. If your account had reset completely I'd have an idea of what might've happened. Hscore2 is not stable enough if you hadn't noticed, if you make a bunch of money in the span of under a few minutes then you should be esc-q'ing immediately to save your account unless it wouldn't bother you if you lost it--there is a reason why people do this and I have in the past reminded people to do this.
  19. if you're leeching it probably calculates from the higher of the two people's exp

I think you've entirely missed the point of there being a limited number of emitters per ship.

Cloakers don't bother me, but even to this day people fail as a team to check X-Radar and let people just stroll into their flag rooms uncontested. And then they also fail to put on any antiwarp at all so the cloakers can leave undetected with their flags... but ultimately it's a team's choice if they want to be that full of fail.
  22. And #5 ...no, just #3

    Inertial Damper

It emits inertial dampening, are you really this dense? It's one of the most popular emitters, too. It's now my policy to ignore posts which misuse the size tag.
  24. If by second you mean #3 then I agree, but it's probably worth complaining to your ISP about.
  25. No, if your ping is between 0 and about 100ms, your fluctuation is recorded as 0. 30ms fluctuation means +/- 30ms average, which would mean at least 100-160. But in practice the actual range is always higher because of the sine wave effect I talked about. The module whisks people away pretty quickly when they start hopping about, but if you had a consistent reading of 30ms and it kept you in the game it would be pretty ridiculous. If you have anything over 5 the effects are generally noticeable (most people have 0.)
