1. hello there
2. Well, there are a lot of possible solutions that seemed to work for some people... but a solution that will work for sure is not known as far as I know. If you're on Vista, the first thing to try would be to reinstall it somewhere else than Program Files, like in your Documents folder. If you're using StyleXP, windowblinds, or similar programs, you might want to try to disable/uninstall them. It might also be that your computer is low on memory, close some processes, check the task manager to see if any program is using too much memory, and try again. If you're using AOL, that might also be the problem: Found your problem. And I'm being honest. AOL + Subspace or AOL + Continuum has been a pain for years now. 1st it was lag, and then with newer versions of AOL, it began crashing/closing Continuum with all of its new spyware and protection crap. Close AOL, and try running continuum and see if the menus work, if so, there is your issue. Not sure if AOL can allow certain programs to ignore the spyware or to be oked, but if not, I'm sorry.
3. And if you collide horizontally at the same time as you collide vertically, are both speeds inverted? And if so, if you collide horizontally with 2 objects at the same time, is the speed inverted twice?
4. The second topic in there is the Best of Youtube thread, and the 2 others... can't tell cause I'm having a hard time loading them. They make my computer fan go crazy, while "waiting for ssforum.net..." weird.
5. you would say that. No, I would say that. Oh wait, I already did: "post rating features are stupid" +1 rep for that .... oh wait... nevermind.
6. pedophile
7. It seems the spoiler2 tag is broken... I'm with Chrome and instead of an actual spoiler tag, I see, for example: My Dog --Click here to view-- In the same green rectangle thing, no link or anything. It could be why you guys get an error in the post your picture and what are you listening to threads
8. I'm guessing the damage is measured on a no-armor ship? i.e. default damage values For more complete comparison, you could add columns for multifire, bounce and gun level
9. I know we have an optional neural network class in our program.... I didn't take it
10. Cool, didn't know this was still going... Downloading 20MB of files should only be done from an http download... Continuum is way too slow on downloading stuff Make sure the fancy stuff is set as optional LVZ's though. You might want to try to optimize some animations too... For example, large animations can usually be broken down in a few smaller ones and a few static images. Doing this sometimes allows you to reuse the same image at different places too. Every black area in your graphic files is a waste PNG isn't necessarily the best format to use either... In some cases, lvz'ed BMP's are smaller than PNG's. I'd also try jpg's, even if it's not my favorite format, it can get real small, and could be fine for some quick animations where you can't really notice the artifacts. If you have sounds too, it's useless to have full quality WAV's, you can set the same quality as continuum's default sounds and cut down their size at like 20%. Edit: And since you can assign multiple mapobjects to a single objectID, splitting animations and such shouldn't make the programming any more complex
11. The forum does some kind of resizing, yes... but it screws up the colors of the image, and while the image loads, it still stretches the screen like crazy; plus it still loads the full image, so it's a waste of bandwidth
12. Can't people learn to resize or link images?
13. Now you're talkin'
14. The case of the police guy is pretty stupid though... Writing "Devious" and watching a movie, weeks before an incident, does not constitute a proof of any kind :/ But I guess it could be enough to give a sufficient doubt... There seems to be a bunch of other things he did though, like some comments on the video on youtube. Yeah, I guess the steroids screwed with his brain a bit
15. Damn you people post uninteresting stuff... Poor myspace-ish cam shots are ugly and not fun Don't you have animals? Anything that you blew up recently? A hobo in your street? Photographed any ghosts lately? If I had a cam I'd get a shot of the big spider that lives just outside my window for a while now. And this wasp that is stuck between my window and the ... screeny thing...
16. Makes me think about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpMxAu1tl5M...feature=related "Privacy is dead" The guy basically explains how stuff that people put online themselves can contribute a lot to his investigations. It's like one hour or two if you watch all the parts though...
17. Hmmm, the good ol' menu freezing again... Read this topic and the topics it links to http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic...nu+freeze\ And if a solution works for you, PLEASE tell us... We need to make a FAQ item out of this, but we still have no idea what solution can work
18. Well, we have to add the error handling to every procedure Or at least in each user-triggered event procedure, so the error can be raised to the error handling.. hmm...
19. The dropdown menus for properties like the layer and such are now fixed... They were popping up, but you couldn't click on them because the focus was not set properly. The code use was exactly the same thing as the regions list you find in the toolbar. But in this case, I realized it was not working because the LVZ form was modal, so it kind of ... blocked the clicks on the list or something.
20. First of all, get an update. 3.4.9 is old already
21. It works for me... does any particular character makes it crash or something? Do you have configured particular tiles to the characters? Hmm, if you're on Vista, maybe it uses wide characters, and screws things up... TileText is expecting a character from 0 to 255. Try this version and tell me if it pops any message while you type:
22. Owned rofl
23. I'll wait to see Star Trek... I'll wait for all the trekkies to get tired of seeing it every day and filling up the theaters
24. We need to rent a basement in India and whip some kids to finish Discretion and STF's engine
