  1. @Ace You are correct, sir.
  2. It's funny to see people cap on Java for no reason what so ever -- shows how much they actually know about development. ... And ASM > C++. What's your point? @17th staff: Don't let a group of idiots convince you one way or another -- use which works best for your zone.
  3. You can request to have the site ban reviewed you know. Google understands that domains change hands periodically and they wont ban a site/domain for life based on what one idiot does with it.
  4. @Everyone: SyrusMX has it right. Everyone needs to stop trying to be the "hero" who will unite SS. Freakmonger and others have made some good steps, but they need to stop being inactive/distracted/apethetic and unite themselves. Only then will we get a centralized go-to site. Also, the domain name doesn't matter all that much. Yeah it'll help the google ranking a bit to have a Subspace site on the subspace.ext domain, but with enough hits it won't matter much. @DeafPwas: You're currently in the top 10 contributors of eDrama in this game, !@#$%^&*!@#$%^&*. I've heard several stories of you personally trying to have zones and sites shutdown on a whim. I don't care what everyone else thinks/says. Your involvement in a central site (and more importantly: this game) is non essential and should be avoided at all costs. Oh, and for the record: I said nothing of killing your first born...
  5. Which can be problematic if you get another group of people who make a gated community and let the "public" know nothing of what they're doing.
  6. ... Good job, re!@#$%^&*. Way to bump a 10 day old post and tell everyone to stop posting.
  7. Because that requires someone who isn't a lazy !@#$%^&* or a billing server that has well-defined rules. You have no idea the loopholes I had to jump through to grab a certain squad name which had no members and the owner hadn't logged on in over 4 years. However, thanks to how the biller naturally deletes names (see: almost never), I had to get a billing op to free it up for me.
  8. Your mothers.
  9. The servers themselves are probably pretty beefy, but I highly doubt subgame (or ASSS) is designed to handle excessive numbers.
  10. L.C., do you have any idea what you are talking about? TW has low traffic in comparison to other games (like CS for instance) and it already requires multiple servers*. Subgame really doesn't handle upwards of 500-1000 players very well and to be entirely honest, I don't believe ASSS would do much better. It would be fantastic if there was a sudden interest in this game and we got a ton of new players and new life was breathed back into it. But let's face it: It's a small player run game with by players minimal resources at their disposal. The best thing would be small incremental population increases so server owners can upgrade as necessary. * From what I hear. If anyone who's part of the TW staff (or otherwise knows for sure) can confirm this, that would be fantastic.
  11. Let's assume for a second that by some miracle someone manages to get "authorization" to tell Valve to put Continuum on Steam and there are no lawsuits/CDs involved. Then what happens? What zones out there have the bandwidth and processing power to handle a sudden burst of a couple hundred thousand players? We'd basically be asking Valve to ddos what few servers still support this game. Also: Mike, if you're the one who censored "!@#$%^&*" in your signature, I hate you.
  12. Scarface, your avatar is !@#$%^&*ing hideous. Edit: If that's you... well... the same thing applies.
  13. As long as the temperatures there are above 0° F, it'll be warmer than it was around here today. Seriously, snow sucks. Not quite to the degree of our buddy capitaldeathplus when it comes to the subject of tranny !@#$%^&*, but it still sucks pretty hard.
  14. Holy !@#$%^&*, Syrus lives in MN? I was convinced that there were only two people in MN that actually played this game. Amazing! Oh, and yes, it is !@#$%^&*ing cold here.
  15. Very.
  16. Unless, of course, a supple young boy happens to be directly behind [their statements]. (Since I know that will go over some of your heads: I'm calling them underage-!@#$%^&* loving !@#$%^&*gots.)
  17. Sigh, I thought these forums were dead. What's with all the replys and other hubbabaloo? On a lighter note: Distort, I demand a new tag other than this "Level 01" nonsense.
  18. What the !@#$%^&*? I've been out of subspace for months, yet in the last 10 minutes I've seen this !@#$%^&*ing re!@#$%^&* shoot himself in the foot more than ... an automatic foot shooting machine... I guess. I've personally worked with SVS and TT. Granted, they aren't as trusting as I would have hoped, but they're not the power mongers that Death+ is claming them to be. !@#$%^&*, you could swap out any references to SVS or TT and replace them with Deathplus and/or Gamewhatever and you'd have a far more accurate paragraph. I don't know !@#$%^&* about the other people, so I'm really at no grounds to attack or defend them. But, judging from Deathplus' character, it's really not that much of a leap to assume the complete opposite. I don't even understand their goal. Let's assume for a second everything goes the way their little !@#$%^&*sucker attraction wants and one day they control SS. Then what? Oh noes, everyone who hurts their precious eFeelings will find themselves on the receiving end of a 57 year netban. Don't like their map and think you can do better? Like !@#$%^&* you can, !@#$%^&*got. BAN! Make a new bot or ASSS-module? It sucks, newb!!! BANNED! Absolute control aside, I see no logical reason for anyone to want the workload that comes with running this game. !@#$%^&*, I can't even tolerate making a !@#$%^&*ing bot anymore; blows my mind that there are still people that desire 2d-internet-spaceship power this much. I'm somewhat suprised Gramps hasn't resurfaced to join their campaign... he must be off trying to hijack some other pseudo-open source project. !@#$%^&*ing lunatics. @Deathplus/Gamething: For significantly less than the monthly cost of colocating a server, you can go to Walmart and buy a bottle of Drain-o. If you really wanted to help the ss community, you would make this purchase... then drink it. !@#$%^&* bags.
  19. Christ almighty... what the !@#$%^&* happened to this game? The !@#$%^&* Deathplus pulled with Halo was bad enough, but this is just rediculous. I wonder how anyone puts up with mister plus for more than 15 seconds without stabbing him in the face. He has some serious control issues and hates the have anyone question his decisions -- even when he asks them to. I don't quite understand Deathplus' logic and the whole support nonsense, but I suspect that it's more of him trying to justify his desire for absolute control. This post really petered out without getting to what I wanted to, but to make a long story short: Deathplus is a !@#$%^&*in sociopath who needs to be shot in the head.
  20. How is this any different from the other power mongering that goes on in this game on a near-daily basis? It seems to be that every zone has some player, developer, staffer (or whatever ss-job-!@#$%^&*le you want to give someone) who's primary goal is to eventually usurp the existing staff/owners. Does it make sense? !@#$%^&* no, but neither does half of the other !@#$%^&* that goes on in this soap opera we call Subspace. I really don't know the details in this specific case and in all honesty I don't really give a !@#$%^&*. Every bit of info I've gotten has been hear-say or rumors -- and I'm sure the situation is the same for DeathPLUS (which makes one wonder how/why Mr. Plus feels justified in this drama). In any event, there is one thing I am sure of regarding this week's episode of All My Spaceships: I still hate each and every one of you !@#$%^&*ers. Drop dead.
  21. Learn C, Java, VB or P3rl and write it yourself.
  22. Yeah, sorry about that; I was half asleep when I replied. Anyway, the first argument in my SendP!@#$%^&*wordPacket function is a boolean value for new user. Youve already got the rest figured out so...
  23. Well, !@#$%^&*uming youre sending the password packet correctly, this is the code I used to handle the response: case 0x0A: // password packet response // Send Registration Information... if(objPacket.get(19) != 0) { this.sendRegistrationForm(SystemInfo.getName(), SystemInfo.getEmail(), SystemInfo.getCity(), SystemInfo.getState(), SystemInfo.getSex(), SystemInfo.getAge()); } // Re-send password packet if necessary... if(objPacket.get(1) == 1) { this.sendP!@#$%^&*wordPacket(true, this.objLoginInfo[0], this.objLoginInfo[1], SystemInfo.getMachineID(), SystemInfo.getTimeZoneBias(), SystemInfo.getPermissionID()); } else { this.handleEvent(new LoginResponse(this, objPacket)); } break; ...And construction of the registration packet, complete with javadoc: /** * Will never be public. 0 1 Type Byte 0x17 1 32 Real Name *1 33 64 E-Mail *1 97 32 City *1 129 24 State *1 153 1 Sex *2 154 1 Age 155 1 Connecting From: Home (Boolean) 156 1 Connecting From: Work (Boolean) 157 1 Connecting From: School (Boolean) 158 4 Processor Type 162 4 ?
