  1. I wish Mac users would wise up and realize that Windows does everything just as well as a Mac does
  2. In addition to being an incompetent developer, Aileron is also an !@#$%^&*hole and a horrible admin. Interesting.
  3. YO SCAR WE TRUE SPARTASN WE FIGHT TOGETHER WE DIREN TEGOTGERL ============================================================ =========================================[> SEND THIS SPEAR TO EVERYONE YOU KNOWN NWSO A TRU SPARTAN IF YOU GET 300 SPEARS PU A TUR SPARTAN
  4. Are you willing to bet your position on this?
  5. I had the mind set of someone who had suggestions and solutions and got ignored by corrupt staff. I gave many suggestions in what should've bene a productive manner. Of course it wasn't productive, because there was nothing produced from my actions. You went on to do whatever you thought felt nice, and ended up proving me right. You wanna talk about solving problems? SS RPG is worse off now than it was originally, and you're going to tell me how to properly solve problems? A boycott will almost definitely solve the problem, as YOU are the primary problem. If there are no players, you won't be able to screw anyone over anymore, and you'll most likely be replaced. And your statement about not being able to know what's going if you're not playing is absolutely ridiculous. If you can't freaking LOOK at what's going on and figure out what's happening, not only are you a bad player, you're a horrible developer. I knew everything that was going on in the third round because I spied on people and kept tabs. I pretty much knew the strategies everyone was using(by watching them use them) and saw what they were going for. I'm not trying to brag, I think pretty much anyone could do it, excepting you apparently, by your own admission. It's obvious. If someone has cash that keeps disappearing but their items/ranks aren't going up and they aren't being attacked, they're banking. If their items stay consistently low and growth is way under what their income could be giving them, guess what? They're banking. On the other hand, if someone has 5000 ports and no attack items, they're probably spying. This is so basic that it blows my mind to hear you say you can't put 2 and 2 together. Lastly, I'd like it if you stopped suggesting that I'm alone in this. I'm obviously not. I never hear anyone defend your "ideas" or even mildly agree with you. And as you can see from the poll - I'm not alone.
  6. Let's just say that last round I was so good with it that Aileron had to change how the game worked.
  7. Cancer+, I'm not trying to change anyone's opinions at this point. I've already said my own opinions on Aileron in several other posts thoughout this forum. If you'd like to read them, I can find them all for you. Most people here have already been playing the game and already know the crap Aileron did. In the past I've detailed the things Aileron's done for those that may have missed it, but I didn't bother this most recent time. The bigger issue here is that someone who doesn't already know what's happened shouldn't vote based on my description of what's happened. But wtf, Aileron, having knowledge the rest of us don't(like knowing everyone's bank accounts) obviously does have an advantage. This is different from Priit playing SS since he can't gain an advantage just by having programmed the game. Maybe in that he's going to understand how things work better because he's programmed it, but experience beats mathematical knowledge in SS anyway. The important part here is that not only has Aileron shown complete inep!@#$%^&*ude in developing strategy games, he's used his development position in his and his clansmates' favors. The poll is already showing that many people are completely unsatisfied with his management, that should be enough.
  8. Hey, I have... 11 years experience in html strategy games now. Shut the !@#$%^&* up.
  9. I'm personally boycotting SS RPG until Aileron is no longer able to make changes to SS RPG. Who's with me?
  10. You !@#$%^&*ed up big time, now. You just made the entire !@#$%^&* forum hate you. Now, I enjoyed making fun of you, but I really didn't mean most of it. I didn't realize you actually were so low as to change everything in your favor. But it all makes sense now. Even increasing mercenaries - after taking massing out, there should've been no reason... but you did it because it was the only way Dav could get enough troops to do anything. I hope you get your staff spot revoked for this. SSForum brought more people to the forums, and brought them more frequently, and now you've just run them ALL off. Whatever you might think about Penis and what it does to the game, it didn't run anyone off. When Sui created the Penis clan, Sui and I got a whole lot of people to join. We didn't convince many existing members, we just brought more into the game. You, on the other hand, have managed to run them all off again. Seriously, wtf? I've seen a lot of power hungry and corrupt staffers across the whole of SS, but I've not seen a piece of !@#$%^&* as big as you, because I don't think any of them would've bothered modifying SS RPG just so one of their clanmates could win. Maybe Viligante would've been up to something like that. Get the !@#$%^&* out of SSForum and go staff at DS, powermonger. This is seriously the third lowest move I've seen in all of SS. The first was the guy whose actions eventually took SSCX down. The second was Viligante banning everyone from an opposing squad in DS just so his squad could win. And then comes you. Go get AIDS, crawl in a hole, and die, you friendless picee of !@#$%^&*. I don't know how you did it, but you managed to make more enemies than I did the round I was trash talking everyone. Congratulations on killing an entire game and making an entire forum your enemy.
  11. Ooh, I know this one.
  12. Yeah, it's on their main site. Which really sucks right now. They keep "updating" the site with new info, but we already know all of the info, except for the music related stuff. Brawl won't be out for a while, anyway... though I'm starting to think it will be out before the regional power rankings are updated around here. >_<
  13. Ooh, Liero is one of the most fun games ever. I was never any good at anything but using the hook, though.
  14. Lol, a bit of a spoiler, but... Zerg win. Just FYI. I think that means that, even though they really only showed us one new Zerg unit, that they also have some kick!@#$%^&* stuff in store for Zerg. Seriously, what was with showing all the new Protoss units?
  15. Here is jealousy in its most obvious form. My persuasive skills suck? I persuaded over half of all of SS RPG to band with me last round, I'd say that's testament enough to my persuasive skills. Besides the fact that everyone still agrees with me. And I agree with them. This isn't just me, here. I'm not going to elaborate here - go to the Clans page if you have any doubts. Of course, nothing seems to work on you - but remember, the hardest form of persuasion is Teaching. First off, I'm the one who originally convinced JDS to be Spider, and later showed him how to own with spider. Second, I did some !@#$%^&* kicking myself before I got bored and switched to nightwasp. Third, I don't think you want me to go through and explain every single way that I owned you, but a few examples from this round should be enough, since I didn't even play the first two rounds and won the third. First off, I was guessing(and was correct) that since the casualty rates hadn't really been changed, and banking wasn't going to be as solid a source of income for quite a while, that massing would be the winning strategy. Apparently you agreed with me because you removed massing. Then, I realized the winning strategy would be to go all spy, since spy weapons couldn't be sabotaged. I changed to Spider and whooped some !@#$%^&*, and would have continued to whoop !@#$%^&* to this day, if I hadn't quit. I was top spy before I helped JDS take that spot, and he took over for me. After seeing us, you AGAIN had to throw away your crappy strategy(not really crappy, you just need to be as good as Keiver to pull it off) so you too could go all spy. And let's look at this in a more global way - you were able to create one tiny clan with like 3 guys, and I created one that destroyed the game. Everyone in my clan is much more dedicated, as well... we help each other out, if we need to, even if it's to the detriment of our own accounts. How often do you find clans bonded that tightly in games like this? You pretty much don't, and the fact that we've pulled it off is a testament to our own skills. I don't feel I need to dwell on this subject. The truth is in front of you, but you ARE a scrub, and frequently scrubs absolutely refuse to admit when someone is better than them. Holy !@#$%^&*ing !@#$%^&*. You are the dumbest mother!@#$%^&*er I've run into in quite a while. Despite how the one recurring theme in all of my posts is how you don't bother paying attention to our suggestions, you still refuse to believe it, and in an extremely hypocritical move, you attempt to denounce my support while almost directly following a post that supports me. Here, you blind sack of !@#$%^&*, I'll even quote it for you: Oh, I know this one. This is getting absolutely ridiculous. Again, you've yet to even read my suggestions. Like I said before, the beauty of this is that with people using spy/sentry as their bank, their rank is more realistic. Furthermore, this encourages people to use sentry even more - which is another blow to the massively overpowered spy. I know I said I'd leave this topic alone, but... yet again you've just now figured out something I had figured out and explained to everyone else weeks ago. Sure, you won the second round, but then people figured out strategy. Oh yeah, and I showed up. Your reign is over. Shut up and sit down. Personally, I love how the third round was great except income was too high and spy was overpowered, so you decide to increase income and create a new ship that had super spy powers. Oh, and that massing idea you had - that was perfect. I love how you flew in the face of decades of proper strategy game design and let us forget strategy and brute force people into submission. So you ARE capable of learning. All along I'd been picturing you as something that resembled this: http://www.hecklerspray.com/wp-content/upl...01/rosie051.jpg . So after your absolutely ridiculous statement the other day that I don't even remember - something about how buying defensive troops would be the worst way to m!@#$%^&* someone - you actually did figure out part of the casualty formula. Still several steps behind everyone else. I'm not even going to bother referring you to sirlin's site this time, you're actively resisting any help at this point. Sirlin may be no Kierkegaard, but he's one of the experts when it comes to compe!@#$%^&*ive gaming theory and philosophy. It was my hope that, even if you didn't trust me, didn't believe me, or whatever else - maybe you would take an expert's opinion, but it seems I was wrong.
  16. I don't think he's playing either, Lid. I'd say it's up to you... but you're not playing next round either, are you?
  17. If you're talking about me, every single suggestion I've given has worked directly against my own strategy. I made the suggestion AND used it as my own strategy both for the same reason - it was broken and way too strong. For example, I suggested bank be removed. It wasn't, so I abused the !@#$%^&* out of it. I'm no scrub - I'm not going to stop myself from doing something because it's cheap, I'm just going to request it be removed. But when I'm playing to win, I'm going to do whatever it takes to win. When I told you splitting everyone between two squads wasn't going to work, it's not because I wanted to protect my massive Penis, it was because IT'S NOT GOING TO !@#$%^&*ING WORK. But you ignored me again, so it looks like there's going to be another huge exploit next round. Seriously, anyone with the slightest knowledge of how to play the social aspects of strategy games will be able to rape people next round. Though, I will admit, that possibility is almost enough to make me want to play again next round. Another flat out lie by Aileron. You're calling me a conspiracy theorist, but I'm only explaining things the way I see it. It's up to every individual player to decide who they side with. What's so bad about a dissenting opinion? If you're not up to anything... why lie? Not only that, if you thought he was in your clan, why did you attack him so much? You're a HORRIBLE team player, apparently. And you're obviously not good by yourself either. Why ARE you playing, anyway? Oh, I know all about bragging. Look how much I did last round. But, I knew everything that was going on in that round, and I knew everything that was going to happen, and I was on top of everything at all times. There are two sides to bragging, and the down side is how it gets thrown in your face and used against you when you fail. You failed, and guess what? I get to gloat yet again. It's the winner's privilege, and basically the only point of playing this game. I myself have been working on my trash talking(if you haven't noticed). I've been studying Cerium, but I'm afraid I'm doing a terrible job. =\ If you're trying to save face, you're doing a very poor job of it. Having attacks restricted based on army strength is RIDICULOUS. Other games have restrictions based on army/land/whatever they use size because, if you're of equal size, then you have no excuse to be lower in power. However, if someone is a much lower size, of course you can't expect them to be at the same power, so there the restriction comes in. You're just postponing the inevitable - removing banking entirely. I saw this weeks ago, and you've either not yet seen it or refuse to see it because you don't want me to be right. I really don't know why, but either way, you're not doing what needs to be done. Oh, so profound. You are indeed profound, Aileron. In reality, you implied that the clan system was broken itself. More than implied, apparently, since you're taking it out. You fail at the social side of this game so hard. This game DOES have a social aspect, and I've seen you try to play it. You got through to Attraction, but that's it. Um... gg? We'll see how exploitable your clan system is next round. So stop waiting for it to get exploited before you remove it. I'd tell you to use your sense, but that's how we got to THIS round. Now pay attention this time, you scrub, I'm going to refer you to Sirlin's site again: http://www.sirlin.net/Features/feature_PlaytoWinPart0.htm . You should listen. After all, considering how badly I own you in this game, my opinion really should be worth something to you. I play to win, but when I give suggestions, I mean them. I never give someone bad advice just so I can win. That's where I draw my line. But while you pretend to acknowledge our ideas and suggestions, you completely ignored every one of them last round. I guess you think we're only trying to suggest you change things so we can win. Actually, let me rephrase that, since you've been so incapable of picking up on hints in the past. I'm not actually guessing about the way you think, I got that from the first quote where you called me a conspiracy theorist. You're the one who thinks we're trying to get you to change the game so we can win - but I'm the conspiracy theorist? I think the only way anything is going to get done this way is if we repeatedly beat your face in using the very strategies we warn you against, but personally, I don't have the patience for that. Where is Polix? He did a much better job with settings - at least he learned from the players.
  18. I wasn't planning on playing next round. "As for next round, these are the announced changes. Nothing is set in stone until June 1st, so if you want something different and your account name isn't a two word name starting with A and D respectively please speak up. (Otherwise, please shut up and stop whining.)" Hah, the scrub is acting like he knows what he's talking about. But you know, the players here aren't stupid, they know how many times I've been right... and how many times you've been wrong. Haven't you seen that, regardless of how much they like me, everyone else's ideas pretty much coincide with mine? You're the only one here who doesn't seem to know how to play. Also, you've missed one VERY big thing. If we all were planning on playing next round, I'll tell you what would happen - I'd get captain of the first freq, and Sui would get captain of the second freq. Then EVERYONE would be a Penis. Just one of many flaws in your broken clan system.
  19. Would it be ridiculous to have it work on a peer to peer basis? Like, the players could install and turn on the voice chat module, and the server would only have to send the clients the IPs and ports and whatnot. This might be hard on the clients if several players connected at once, but it would save the server some work. A bit more importantly, though, who would actually want to bother coding something like that when Ventrilo exists?
  20. Kinda like last round, when you "accidentally" said Suicide_Run was in SSCentral Gods? Quit fooling yourself, SSCentral Gods has yet to get anywhere in this game. Aileron, you have no experience with these games. First off, let's look at this quote: "Frankly, I have serious doubts of it being possible for anyone other than myself to reach #1 in any ship.", from this topic: http://forums.sscentral.com/index.php?showtopic=14845 . This is such a ridiculous statement, and it clearly shows your obvious lack of knowledge AND experience. Also keep in mind that the only reason you were able to get as far as you are now is because you drastically lowered the number of attacks per day AND re-added the armysize limit on attacking that you took out at the beginning of the round. But I think you can stop talking about winning anything now... no one's going to believe you, anyway. I still don't know wtf you were trying to do with THIS quote: "I didn't realise that this core doesn't have a limit to prevent people from attacking with couple hundred poorly armed troops as it should."( http://forums.sscentral.com/index.php?showtopic=14952 ), since we pretty much all played last round and we remember when it did have an attack limit, and we can see that it again is implemented. Under normal cir!@#$%^&*stances I'd flat out call you on a lie, but you're not fool enough to believe anyone would've fallen for it. Yeah, it's gay, but it IS the way to win, since Aileron refuses to take out the broken banking system. Knowledge is power, after all, and when people don't know how much money you have you can surprise them at the end. Unless, of course, that person is Aileron, who will just look up your bank account. But that's another matter.
  21. Because converting to spy after you've built up a decent amount of cash leaves you invincible, since spy/sentry items can't be sabotaged. A mix between massing and spying would've won this round easily, but Aileron killed my strategy off, and I ended up converting to all spy, though that bored me quickly. Notice how Aileron followed suit after a few days.
  22. Don't bother. The game is broken and Aileron is clueless about how to fix it. I've tried to make him see reason before, but he refuses, so you're better off never starting this frustration.
  23. Excuse me, but... is anyone going to be angry if both are used? Like I think they are now? That way everyone is happy. As the matter of fact, no offense, but I see no point to this topic.
  24. I warned you about this. I've said ever since I started that both UP and bank were the way to win. The Bank is inherently broken, and UP is the past was simply boring, since anyone that understood the game knew you just had to max it out first before focusing on anything else. This round, though, you managed to screw it up big time. I still haven't figured out how you did that one. As you can see, I've taken the privilege of labeling your points, so I can shoot them down. #1 Wtf? Never resetting at all? ALL of the popular html strategy games reset, and for a very good reason. The only ones that don't are not only extremely unbalanced and unpopular, they end up a sausage fest where the original creators and some of the original players sit around and suck each other's !@#$%^&*s all day. Although I guess that's similar to the way a lot of SS zones have been run in the past. I'm not really sure I can even explain why it needs to be reset, but I can guarantee that the noobs would quickly tire and quit, there would be no more new noobs given SSForum's small population, and eventually, the guys at the top would get bored of hoarding their items(and probably being all spy by that point). #2 This is !@#$%^&*ing re!@#$%^&*ed. No one likes losing a !@#$%^&*load of items, but it's part of the game. But it can't be taken to that exponential level. The game isn't built to stand the high numbers you've set it up for this round... it didn't even work right last round, and you made it exponentially worse this round. Armies and items certainly are "fleeting", but they're not SUPPOSED to be. That's a symptom, coming from Spy being overpowered. It's meant to grow at a slower rate in the beginning, but quicker later in the round. But there's so much growing going on this round that spy beats standard attack methods very early, and the gap grows to monumental proportions. #3 Maybe if you hadn't increased an already super overpowered UP, that might work. Of course, you've got to be re!@#$%^&*ed to think that's a good idea in the first place. What? You're great at this game and have an army 10x everyone else's size? Well, that's cool, because some noob's about to !@#$%^&* your world up. I don't think so. #4 That's so !@#$%^&*ing ridiculous it doesn't even need a proper response. I will however mention that since spy items can't be destroyed, you make something that's already exponentially overpowered to the nth degree even further overpowered. As the matter of fact, nearly all of your changes have done this(except for the UP move) despite my best attempts to show how broken it was last round. #5 Um... UP can't be massed, but the army it produces can, so that's the same thing. And freaking SPY can't be sabbed. Wtf are you trying to do to spy? You are the very definition of a scrub. You yourself tried to dominate with your SSCentral Gods clan. However, when another clan that's even bigger enters the arena and overpowers you, all of the sudden, it's cheap. That's like throwing people a lot in SSBM, but then calling it cheap when someone chain-throws you way more than you ever were able to. If it's unbalanced at high levels, then it's probably unbalanced at low levels. Most importantly, there aren't any limiters on any level. I will now refer you to a series of articles on video games and developing video games, which also goes into detail about what exactly classifies as "cheap" and "broken" in games, and also goes into detail of the psychology of scrubs. ( http://www.sirlin.net/Features/feature_PlaytoWinPart0.htm ) I suggest you read every article under the "Playing to Win" section. You don't understand how casualties work, and that's why you were so weak to massing. It's that simple. Add to that the fact that this game isn't meant to be run at such high numbers(for one reason, because the casualty system breaks down, slowly) and you get a humongous, steaming pile of !@#$%^&*. However, you are STILL treating massing as a "problem", and not as the symptom it is. It's a result of bigger problems closer to the base, it's not a problem in and of itself. There are a few reasons for why UP is and isn't useful at different times. For one, 100m in the bank gives you 500k an hour. However, if you spend 128m on the 100UP, it'll take 10 days before the extra troops gained from UP begin to make you 500k per hour, and this is !@#$%^&*uming no extra soldiers have died as a result of your increased army size. However, having a larger army is in and of itself a good thing, so depending on your strategy(and your amount of bank whoring), up to even 150 UP could quite plausibly be useful. Were these strategies not a direct result of other incredibly broken things, they could actually be legitimate, balanced strategies. I'll admit I never mastered how spy works, but I always was a more effective spy than you, so I can only take that to mean I understand it a bit better than you, and I disagree with the statement about spy weapons. As for the repair costs, you're wrong yet again. Repair costs CAN'T be balanced when dealing with such high numbers. The reality is you should never repair your items, when they are bought and sold in amounts of several digits - I could explain why, but that'd take a while, and I prefer to keep the secret to myself, should I decide to play again. Oh, really? Ahem. #1 Repairing is useless. I figured this out when the repair system was broken last round, and repairing was near impossible - I never repaired my weapons, and never once did it affect me. #2 The whole item system needs to be reworked, this isn't going to help. Especially since you're still factoring in repair. #3 I honestly don't know what to say about turns. They haven't really mattered except in the beginning of the round yet, at least to those that have been smart with their attacks. People in the Penis clan have had limited targets, so they've been forced to play their attacks smarter than other people have - as a result, they've had an abundance of turns. I can think of some problems that would arise from having a very limited amount of turns, but all of them can only hurt you if you don't think of the possible strategies and prepare a defense against them. So I suppose there's nothing wrong with it. Too little turns, though, and you weaken attack even more - not something that needs to be done when spy is so boss right now. #4 Kill yourself. #5 I don't know what you mean by quadratic price system, but if it has anything to do with quadratic equations, it's almost definitely re!@#$%^&*ed. I suggest lowering numbers all around, though. Start at 5, next upgrade at 10, etc. I don't know what to think about increasing soldier income, but I'd be hesitant to do that. Not because I'm worried you'll break an already working system because absolutely nothing works, but because none of your ideas have worked so far. My biggest problem is with the line, "...defense mercs don't die in offense, so they certainly *won't* be unlimited.". This just further proves that you don't understand how casualties, and therefore massing, works. Take mercs out. If the system isn't there, it can't be broken. !@#$%^&*, that one statement makes me want to play next round so I can m!@#$%^&* the living !@#$%^&* out of you so that you have to change the whole game just because I used it against you. Again. Like I said before, get rid of the bank. Don't take the !@#$%^&* way out and get rid of the income, get rid of the whole !@#$%^&* thing. This forces them to buy items, which makes someone's rank days 1-29 mean a lot more than they do now. Because now, rank means nothing until about an hour before the game ends. This is your first good idea so far, no one's going to hate ou for it. I don't know why it's taken you two months to figure out that banking was broken, or why you still want to keep banks. But at least this shows you're capable of learning. No, SS RPG sucks. Most html strategy games don't suck. And for that matter, lots of them already DO have a system like that. You obviously have no experience with html strategy games, why on Earth did you just make that re!@#$%^&*ed statement? I can safely say that your last two lines are without a doubt the stupidest in your whole post. Also, you should stop referring to SS RPG as an MMORPG, because it's not one. I guess there's a chance you actually were referring to real MMORPGs, in which case, I'll just remind you of the existence of the most well known MMORPG, WoW, in which there are two teams. I will further elaborate on this, because I believe Alliance is bigger than Horde(I could be wrong). But I also remember Horde having about 10x the skill Alliance does. As for your actual idea, it won't work. For example, I seriously doubt you'll be attacking Dav next round, regardless of the system set up. Joining clans has only been a representation of bonds shared outside the subspace community - one reason people have stuck to them so well. Betray someone in-game and they might feel betrayed in real life. Well, in Continuum, which is practically real life for most of us. It's not even a matter of being a good idea, or not, it just plain won't work. Seriously, you piss me off with stuff like this. You obviously have no experience with these games, so why do you go off and plan everything on your own? What makes me angry is you actually made topics last round telling us about the changes you were going to make next round. I !@#$%^&*umed that meant you would listen to our opinions and consider them. Turns out it was a lie, you never once told us about your re!@#$%^&*ed ideas like wanting to never reset. We could've told you it was a horrible idea from the get-go and saved a month. I swear, you could probably staff at DS with the way you pretend to do things for the pop and then do everything for yourself. This whole time I thought we were playing SS RPG, but apparently it's now Aileron RPG. This is ridiculous.
