  1. Hey guys, I need your opinion. I know this entire description is long, but it is important for everything to I have been working on making minor changes to the settings, adding GFX, and using the new tileset again in a subarena. While I was doing this I thought of a very interesting gameplay. Here is the general stuff: 5 flags jackpots are closer to kill points buyable ships 2 bases only 2 teams only possibly a ball, with a goal in each base Here is the idea: There are two bases, one for each team, and each team spawns in an area in their base. The goal of the game is to get all 5 flags that appear in center, and drop them in your flag room. However, each player can only pick up one flag at a time, and if the flag is not dropped into the flag room, it is reset and brought back to center. Once you drop all 5 flags in your flag room, you win the jackpot. As well, there are "warp tunnel" within your base that allow your team to move to different locations in the base, or to center. If the enemy steals a flag from your base, they have the ability to use this warp tunnels to get further down your base, and back to their flag room. As an added aspect, there are 3 levels of ship buying. For each credit/scorereset period you must earn credits (points) in order to be able to buy the pernament use of a ship. All players will start with all ships in level one: Level 1 Ships: 2, 5, and 8 In order to buy a ship from level 2, they must have enough points. Level 2 Ships: 4 and 7 In order to buy a ship from level 3, they must have enough points and they must have bought a ship from level 2. Level 3: Ships 1, 3 and 6 The ships from level 3 are very hard to obtain and require a lot of points/work. Once you buy one ship from a level, the other ships will be available with a small discount. There may also be the ability to "sell" a ship, ie. if you have a ship you do not use, you can sell it back for half the price, and recieve those credits to buy another ship if desired. The other buyable functions (warping, etc) will also still be available at LOW costs. Any player new to the zone recieves bonus credits for joining the zone. This is a one-time offer only (there will be some sort of database of player names that are kept track of via the alias bot). Credits are donatable. The map will consist of two bases, both similar, but containing several different advantage points that are useful to certain ships only. The center area will be large enough to allow for fraying between players. There will still be a center green area where flags/balls will appear. Freqs are controlled by the bot. When new players are entering the game, they are randomly !@#$%^&*igned a team and can not switch. If many players exit from one team, and there is a large (at least 3 players) difference between teams, there will be an automatic transfer of players from the larger team to the smaller team in order to make the game even. Once a team wins, both teams are reshuffled and the game resumes. This is to make sure that the games are always fair. Antiwarp will be permitted in any area in the zone. Remember: level 1 ships contain no stealth or cloak. Two ships contain xradar and the other antiwarp. Considering this, they can not be considered "weak" over level 2 and level 3 ships. Cloaking ships are not added to the game until a player has bought a level 3 ship that does contain cloak.

  11. I think the zone should move to public freqs only 2 teams of whatever ... private freqs can still be allowed, but to a maximum of 2 people.

  14. If the population average starts increasing to really high levels (like 15 people compared to the 5 we have now) then I think reducing the points a little would be effective ... as with more players the jackpot would increase way too fast... for now its fine though I agree
  15. yeah its like having only 17 million credits, but you need 3 more to get a brick squadmate only has like 5 mil so they can't do nothing ur in a bind, about to lose flags donate the creds buy the brick win the game

  17. I had a suggestion for the zone that came from a player. Reduce the points ... (jackpots) to more resonable levels as there is no point in reaching point totals of near 1 billion. Thoughts?
  18. Legas made a tileset, is up a in private arena. SOS and I both liked it, and anyone else whos been to that arena has liked it as well. The map is next and naturally will take a lil bit of time due to the more complex tileset. Legas is also starting a sub-dev-team of several of his friends to work on event maps/tilesets for the zone. This is going to be a huge boost for the zone.

    Freqhopping

    Okay, how is this. Freqs are locked (except for new players or players entering from spec) while a jackpot is being won (somebody has all 25 flags, or 1 team has all 25 flags). Once they are neuted you are permitted to switch again, and moderators can watch out for it. The bot can easily do the locking-part and warn anybody who tries. Also, maybe make it such that the locking happens only for a worth-while jackpot ... so it must be over, say 5 million points. This way teams dont get insta-locked when the game just started. So this would prevent flag-hopping right before a win. SOS would also add in the rules that freq-hopping is illegal at all times, and we can moderate it with worse-case scenario being a spec. Natuarlly, the worst case is that a guy is going to all the good teams (the ones who are winning), not the other way around (somebody changes freqs to help the worst team).

  24. I found a map maker, but he is too busy for a tileset ... but a map is a start.
  25. Hey guys. We need a new map for the zone. And for that matter a new tileset. Here is the deal ... we can only do this if we have new bases, because quite frankly, these bases are getting too tight, too small for a large flag game in these settings. I'm not talking about massive bases, but bases like what you see in red star and EG. I know SOS for the most part is against this ... he likes the old school look. However, its not going to help our zone if we dont make a change and soon.
