  1. -*BAD WORD*-o anonymous guest coward His album is selling like hotcakes.
  2. Which reminds me. Anyone who wishes to use my maps (god knows why!) please either use the map "as-is" or use only the tileset. I do not what fragments of my map copy and pasted or blindly modified. If you want to do modifications, let me know so I can rework it myself.
  3. Who's the pedant here? Me or the person that uses a definition that is even marked obscure in the dictionary? If you've been reading the last few posts you'd notice that things are beyond "a little off topic", they aren't addressing any issue being presented by other parties at all. This thread is fast becomming an excercise in ego massage. "I can go into more unneccessary and irrelevant detail than you!". If you have to talk about something with such a tenuous link to politics, please have the grace to stick to answering one another's questions instead of reciting everything that you've learnt in religious studies ever.
  4. Which kind of raises questions like "wtf was MSNBC doing in the mansion?" or rather "whos report are they copying?"
  5. You want ideas? Ok. Go look at all the pubmaps that people have made through the years. Attempt to do EVERYTHING a different way. Playtest and rework it till its playable. Then get some more people to test it. If you donn't get 10+ people demanding it be made pubmap then try again. Also, go outside and take a long walk. Perhaps go read something. You don't get ideas staring at SSME all day.
  6. What is wrong with bot cloning? The end effect is different as the cir-*BAD WORD*-stances (read as: map and settings) are different. Is there any reason for bot code secrecy other than jealousy and security (if you're worried someone spots a bug they can exploit).
  7. Contentious art in courthouse sparks international debate. Man in silly wig is fired. Actual relevance to the rest of the human race: 0.00001 on the madhaha (log) scale. No-one died. There were no riots. This man will now stand to make a lot of money from talk shows/news articles and his name will be remembered by scholars/philosophers for years to come. Does this merit several billion posts where people post their opinion and flame each other or can we say the story has run its course and we all lived happily ever after? The debates going on here are all philosophical and ideological. Not political. Seeing as my attempt to get this forum renamed to the "Politics and Philosophy" forum went down screaming in flames, I think this thread is a lost cause. Ok, enough talking, you can get back to fighting now
  8. So? He can probably dig up that much from behind his sofa and he gets it back later anyway. Its another irrelevant frontpage grabber that'll amount to nothing. Bad taste too in my opinion considering other more newsworthy items of the day which are also much more political *hint hint*.
  9. Very funny. You HAVE read the conditions for joining the SSC right?
  10. The truth is that the staff only have 2 "original" ideas with what to do with pub. Good planning
  11. madhaha

    fake email

STOP POSTING ALREADY! To be honest I think you're just making this up and there isn't a chance in -*BAD WORD*- Plat is going to get off his arse to help you.
  12. Total score was over 2000!!!!!!!! Yeah like that took a lot of time and effort
  13. Or maybe everyone could just buy a superhighres screen to use as a radar
  14. Several subspace 3D games in the making. Subspace 2 rights have been bought by some company. They have ceased all development.
  15. And how many game clients have you developed while rolling out a new P2P communication system?
  16. That was the followup suggestion on the original thread.
  17. I'm sorry did you have a point in the cliche mix? > There are important decisions to make and those decisions are made by the people. Er... as opposed to some global descision making AI or something? > Big things are afoot, as they were when policy was being decided on black segregation and women's right to vote. Not the same thing at all. Those issues concerned equal rights in society. Current issues deal with how the government want the populace controlled. >Forgive them their passions... Whats passionate and forgivable about what they're doing?
  18. 17th = action. This map = slow. You always spawn in the safe area. There is a clearly defined "powerball area" thats quite a way to the east. So everytime you die, you need to find a co-operative teamate to attach to or resign yourself to the fact that the other team is certain to score. Throw antiwarp into the equation and this gets boring very quickly. The interiors are the traditional maze of twisty passages all alike that you find in just about any other turf zone. The map is vast and the flag placements are immediately obvious so the game is obviously going to be very slow. Also, you'll never be able to hold all the flags because there are simply too many. Also, as with the soccer game, death = a long long trek back to where you left off. The tiles aren't particularly interesting and there are silly pictures a la diablo for decoration. Frankly I don't care how much work you put into this, you need to put more thought into it. Still, I'm sure some other zone will snap it up because its their idea of fun. *Snore*.
  19. That was the surprise
  20. What I'm saying is that American culture is diverging, both into local variations and "minority interest groups" instead of coming together to form one general culture. Whats more, these groups have conflicting interests. Given the choice, many states would rather be seperate countries instead of being dragged into one global foreign policy (and of course they'd have more freedom in domestic issues). Concerning the whole issue of bank robbing and mercedes (odd anology ), what I'm saying is that American society in general is already pretty tense and terrorism only adds to the tension. I feel that the government is playing on this tension to its own ends.
  21. Points of consideration: Formatting on this forum is minimal. Linking on this forum is easy. Deliberately quoting vast chunks of text unnecessarily is considered rude.
  22. Yes but resolution caps are obvious because you are specced and the server tells you.
  23. Point 1 is obviously wrong. I know about American culture from a great number of sources, not just TV. I shouldn't need to state the painstakingly obvious like NEWSPAPERS, RADIO, AMERICAN AND INTERNATIONAL LITERATURE or THE WEB. I also have many friends in the US and have visited the US as well as Canada on several occasions. I think that fairly comprehensively refutes your statement that "you really don't have an idease as to what is going on here". Your second argument also falls short. I have not "!@#$%^&*umed" that Americans are irrational, indeed they do have a great deal to fear. Are your honestly telling the world that America isn't in a state of extreme social tension? I find that very difficult to swallow without any evidence at all considering the m!@#$%^&* of studies (peer reviewed and from reputable people) conducted by your own universities. So call me "bigot" and mouth me off and yank your little penises. Until you can give me evidence to the contrary you haven't got a case.
  24. George W. Bush Not much of a challenge. You have mis-interpreted my message anyway. I'm saying that Americans live in daily fear anyway and that "terrorism" or the threat of terrorism only speeds up the rate of American social decline.
  25. America lives in fear or persuading them to part with their guns/tasers/stun-guns/knives/swords/blow-darts etc. would be a lot easier. They fear each other. They fear other members of their growing class system. The rich fear the poor, the poor fear the rich. Everyone either fears or hates the governments unless they work in the government in which case they fear the public. There is tension between the states and between the north and the south. Whats more, the American society is comming apart, subtly but steadily into stereotyped "minority groups" that do not understand each other or wish to. If you want a simple example go walk into an American school. The "geeks" or "nerds" fear the "jocks". The whole atmosphere is one of tension and hyper-compe!@#$%^&*ion. Everything is treated as life or death. People that don't seem to fit in are either segregated, drugged or recieve "special schooling". Now tell me that Americans do not live in fear. Now take a country like Jamaica. They don't feel the need to go to war (like they could!). Their crimerates are high but generally people have a very relaxed and comunal at!@#$%^&*ude. People mingle instead of going their seperate ways and seek to understand each other. I'm not saying its a perfect lifestyle, I'm just saying they don't live in fear. WTF does this have to do with terrorism? Ever heard of a Jamaican terrorist?
