Bah face the reality people. The 17th staff is managed as a group of friends who also happen to wield power. If you don't fit in, sooner or later they'll drop you for whatever reason. If everyone there likes you they'll hire you even if you're a completly incompetant and got fired previously for abuse of powers.

You can find hosting usually with SSI or SSNT. Ask at their respective forums. SSC is quite strict on which zones it hosts and requires you to have been running for over a year with an average pop of above 10.

Midi can be used for much more than that. Since the size of midi files is very small, you could have several hours of varying background music providing it was purely instrumentals. The quality is roughly equivilent to that of a SNES game (it varies depending on your soundcard and setup) so it isn't be that bad.

If memory serves me correctly, twister fiddled the greening system because the greens were handled client side. The "security" we have at the moment simply checks to see if the green the ship picks up is valid for the current settings. I think thats why the *watchgreen command was implemented. Thus, client and perhaps even protocol fiddling would be needed.

A different graphic for each green isn't possible because the game only decides what a green is when you pick it up.

Yes but this is also common knowledge and each paper has its own publicized political slant, usually enforced by an editor. And? Monte: The media report. The police investigate. They get paid to write interest articles, not solve crimes. Just keep your eyes open and read between the lines.

How about a wa2 for each different green pickup? For example, if you pick up the shield powerup it will have a different sound to when you pick up a full charge or a multifire. Also note what change this will make to themed zones.
