  1. http://www.mojang.com/compo/metagun/ You need to have a Java Runtime Environment installed.
  2. Didn't know that either. durelev, you should ask TW staff to make those lvz files optional, other players may have the same problem.
  3. Squad names do get reset but not fast enough. Especially with all the nametraders and people just registering loads of squads, creating a good squad name can be a hassle. Nonetheless, I still believe that if you play the game long enough, you'll come up with an original and untaken squad name.
  4. Ah ok.
  5. It's possible to have LVZs placed on a map (mapobjects) and be able to move them around. I've seen someone do this with Mervbot, I'm sure ASSS can do that too. I was once in a zone where someone was doing this, he had a picture of a car placed on top of him and it kept being on top of him when he moved around. The motion was quite fluent then what you expect. I doubt this keeps being fluent with alot of players but it's still doable.
  6. It's down for a while now
  7. Most likely on a name you don't own anymore, right? Your current name is reported as being created on Apr. 26, 1998 13:21.
  8. That's because no ship wins/losses were recorded for you - it would show the ship which you've used to get the best rating with otherwise.
  9. Ya that would be a good idea. Maybe something like a generated image that you can place in your signature. For now you would have to do with a nice link to your profile http://www.trenchwars.org/?v=pubstats&x=prof&s=rating&player=Purge
  10. You didn't see the copyright on that piece of text? I'm going to sue your ass
  11. http://www.trenchwars.org/index.php?v=pubstats&s=rating&x=oldplayers [btw I think that guy from '30 Nov 0002' was only a fluke]

Here is a classic one about engineers and managers (note; can be applied to any kind of job) :
  13. wow Polix, I'm sorry for your (and your wife's) loss. My condolences and sympathies. Such moments in life you realize how special life can be and how bad it can be at the same time.
  14. SSCC went down on Friday 20th august 2010 11:10 (PDT). As far as I know, it used to host the following zones: SSCC Desert Storm (already shut down by owners before shutdown) [avg 5 players] SSCC Halo Evolved [avg 5 players] SSCC Metal Gear CTF [avg 11 players] SSCC RedStar [avg 3 players] SSCC Star Wars Empire [avg 0 players] SSCC The CompleX [avg 0 players]

The last one is funny as hell
  16. What's the advantage of using an IRC server in comparison to an online multiplayer 2D space game with lots of chat features?
  17. Looks nice. I agree; "About" would be better then "Continuum?".
  18. Such a shame, CRe. You should make your backups available to download somewhere so any SS files that may get lost are archived somewhere EDIT: The zone has gone down at Tue Aug 10 2010, 14:00 PDT
  19. Unfortunately Doc Flabby is correct and sscentral.sscuservers.net doesn't support the unencrypted communication. Hopefully I can port the (subspace) encryption from my Java client to the PHP script. If someone can help me or give me some tips, please do PS. Doc Flabby, if you read this, your directory server isn't working anymore. It's online but it stops sending the zone list after it has send 22% of it.

  21. We should ask Testtube again. I hope he's willing to help :-)
  22. Most likely the RuSs guy
  23. In my humble opinion, Java would be the best choice. You can play it in your browser via an applet, standalone as a normal java program and you can distribute it on mobiles via Android while sharing the same (more or less) coding base.
  24. http://beginners.getcontinuum.com/ Read and thou will learn
  25. I've heard in my Flex course that Flash has since version 10.1 support for UDP sockets which you'll need for Continuum networking. I would rather make a client in Flash then in HTML5 as the latter means programming in Javascript which is a hell for development (lack of proper debugging, error handling and different interpretations in different browsers). If you would begin making a new client, making it in Google's Java at Android would be another good option. It's definately a growing market and may bring in a whole lot of (new) players.
