  1. Try CCleaner. It helps with that.
  2. Yes. I was more referring to the actual PTB generically, and less to the formal Council itself. I am well aware that power/control is rather unevenly distributed among the formal Council members. At this point, making a formal pe!@#$%^&*ion to the Council or trying to get the Council to formally approve a resolution is often not the best option. I can empathize with you there. It is somewhat similar for me and Stellar Frontier.
  3. Yep. Not just African Americans either, but all minorities in the U.S., really. And even quite a few Europeans. Have to say I'm quite happy Obama won, and happy about McCain's gracious concession. Both of them ran grueling campaigns and battled long odds.
  4. Ya, agreed. For stuff like client development and scores website development then obviously it is necessary to bring in people like GS and the Council.
  5. I think that's false actually. As Hakaku has stated, doc had plenty of support for his project but he himself put a serious damper on the enthusiasm by warning people not to distribute it, cautioning that there might be serious bugs in it, and advising that people should exercise a high amount of caution with his installer. And to be sure, I was always, until now, under the impression that he was still working on it to turn out a safe, bug-free product. I had no clue he axed it. I think that is a good strategy for certain ideas but for most others I really do not see the necessity of consulting with Ghost Ship in particular or the Council in general before undertaking development. There's such a thing as too much consulting and planning and too little actual work. Snrrrub's case above is a prime example of this.
  6. This thread fails. At this point it's already looking somewhat like a spam thread...
  7. I wasn't aware SWE (SSCC Star Wars Empire) showed up in the default download. Perhaps you are thinking of SWZ (SSCX Star Warzone), which generally has 0 pop and is not SWE.
  8. Wow, you sure do have a lot of steam to blow off. Have you even logged into Continuum lately? If you have, it apparently hasn't been as Croww, at least...
  9. Across the U.S. in states that observe DST, it's the first Sunday of November.
  10. Kudos on graduating. Welcome back.
  11. With respect, Cancer+, I don't see what else the denizens of SSForum can do to help this guy out? Per my last post: If TW's !@#$%^&*istant BanG Operator is aware of the issue and is handling it as he deems best, I do not see what else there remains to be done at this point.
  12. TW bans are supposed to be resolved by emailing bans21@trenchwars.org. They are not supposed to be addressed by creating a thread on TW Forums or on SSForum. In any case, cool koen seems to be aware of this issue now, and is handling it as he deems best.
  13. Warning: Do not look at the spoilerized pic in Sama's post. Do not do it.
  14. It comes down to BDE. They own the rights to Subspace. If we have their support for Steam, then we're home free.
  15. Shouldn't be hard. Just get in touch with BDE and have them contact Steam, if they're interested. As the old saying goes, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained."
  16. QFT. And I don't often do this with Dr Brain's posts.
  17. Ha, you aren't alone Drake. I realized the same thing some time back. But the good thing of being a human on Earth is that we really never have to be worried about having nothing to do. It's always easy to find stuff to do. I've found excellent - perhaps even productive - things to do as an alternative to gaming during my free time.
  18. I didn't want to name names, but since you asked... it's Dr Brain, of course. He has a long history of agonizing over the distinction between such things as ASSS vs. ASSS, and Dr Brain vs. Dr. Brain (note the period after the 'Dr' in the 'misspelled' version). And I'm not saying Dr Brain is wrong to feel the way he does about these things. I am merely saying that in my opinion, agonizing over such things is generally a waste of time. To each his/her own.
  19. Point. Still, that was years ago. Email's changed since then, it is ridiculously easy these days to get great free email addresses with lots of bells 'n' whistles and most people who use the Internet have more email addresses than they can keep track of these days. And times have changed too; whereas in a 'bygone era' it might have been cool to show off, say, an @mervbot.com email address to one's IRL friends and colleagues... these days, not so much... am i the only one who got that joke? seems like you all just passed over it. I did. And I even laughed harder when some dude replied to that talking about the zone or something QFT
  20. I consider it slightly ridiculous to agonize over 'official' names, sites, or links in the context of a free MMO game that is inherently unofficial. Agonizing over such things is probably a waste of time; it's why I've never complained about the 'MERVBot' link being written 'MervBot', for instance. But that is just me.
  21. You can raise red herrings all day long, but that doesn't make you correct.
  22. There's nothing wrong with spelling ASSS as ASSS. Incorrect. You seem to be living in an alternate reality.
  23. you arent going to get one. get over it What root said. I don't see any plausible benefit to the game or community by implementing vetta's idea anyhow. People aren't going to use Continuum email addresses for anything other than emails to their Continuum (e-)friends. I have a @getcontinuum.com email so I know this from personal experience.
