  3. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *gasp* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA What Boldot said.
  4. I will concede that on the surface of it this appears to be rather sudden and seems to be unwarranted, but keep in mind that as none of us are, presumably, high level government officials who were involved in the Somalia case, there may very well be details that we don't know. Hence, just looking at what we can see and drawing a conclusion would be premature. This is analogous to players who look at a player-taken screenshot or log and conclude "staff abuse!" - when in reality there was no abuse, a fact which would have been apparent if one reviewed the server log and the staff chat in conjunction with the player-taken screenshot.
  5. I have to echo Trained and Cancer+... don't really know what to say. Very sorry to see you leave, you will be missed. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
  6. I am with Mav. Last thing we want is to have a beta/buggy installer on GetContinuum when the current 0.40 one is working perfectly.
  7. As far as I know, Pointman isn't, but I could be wrong. It isn't exactly clear which Council members have how much access. Officially, only BlueGoku and Mackieman have billing access (as well as Ghost Ship and PriitK, of course). In reality, who knows.
  8. Yes, that is what most people believed until a long time later, when the government finally admitted there were probably no WMDs in Iraq before we went in and that the prior intelligence was faulty.
  9. I'm still slightly skeptical. Especially as I've never heard of this guy actually doing anything with his supposed rights to Subspace; he should be head of the Council or something, if this were true. Couldn't he or someone else have simply faked some evidence to show to MGB? I'd prefer to see some mention of this on some news site or something, because as far as I know, no one ever bought Subspace from VIE.
  10. Ah, I see, thanks.
  11. Was this sent to your @getcontinuum.com email (out of curiosity), or was this from the Continuum cards you passed out? I haven't received any emails from (prospective) players through either my personal @getcontinuum.com email or our shared @getcontinuum.com email address...
  12. And so where's the proof this person owns rights to Subspace? The provided reference [1] seems rather flaky.
  13. Happy 19th birthday Hi-5! Wishing you many happy returns my friend. (Of course, as some know, it isn't really your 19th birthday, but as far as SSForum.net is concerned, it is, so...) Posted in Trash Talk because I wasn't sure if this would be appropriate for HS General Board; HS staff feel free to move this to General Board if you deem appropriate.
  14. I had never thought Iraq really had WMDs when we went in this time, and I certainly believed they didn't by the time Hussein was captured. But it'd be a stretch to say that the nation as a whole realized that, especially with all the continuing claims from the Administration and the intelligence agencies saying that the WMDs were still around, just not found yet.
  15. IIRC the Administration and the various intelligence agencies continued to assert even then that the WMDs had, in fact, been there and had mysteriously vanished, and that US forces were still searching for them. Wasn't until much later that they conclusively admitted that the earlier intelligence indicating the presence of WMDs was faulty.
  16. I protected it recently to help prevent future defacement of your page. I only set protection levels so unregistered users would be blocked; unfortunately it seems that now even registered users cannot edit it, and I can't even unprotect it. I'll be on this. EDIT: Page unprotected thanks to PoLiX.
  17. Got my cards today too - thanks Trained! Will distribute around ASAP.
  18. Nothing. I'm a sysop actually. I just thought it was rather funny that Picard would want to target Continuum sysops.
  19. No, the Boston system is called the "T" last time I checked.
  20. It's called a subway if there's at least a significant portion that is underground. Most of the Boston system in terms of stations and all is probably overground, but there are quite a few underground stations downtown, so I suppose that's why it's called a subway. The Dallas system, on the other hand, has exactly one underground station, so it generally isn't considered a subway.
  21. I know whatcha mean. For example, he made a post on the Wiki board requesting a personal Wiki page, when clearly he could have just gone ahead and made the Wiki page himself. (It's a Wiki, after all.) Not to mention that 5 days after his request, he had yet to add any content to that page.
  22. Isn't \ already used for ASSS staff chat? That said I agree that :#squad: should remain open and squad ?chat itself should be restricted to squad members.
  23. Does the London subway ever come above ground? Both the Boston and the NYC subways have significant portions that run above ground, with above ground stations (especially the Boston subway), which is probably why all subway trains have climate control.
  24. taxi drivers don't give a !@#$%^&* if they sit in traffic, it's more money for them. but when i drive, it's easy to find shortcuts, cut people off, to get there faster. i rather take the car. To each their own.
  25. Hahaha, I needed that, thanks.
