  1. Besides what Dav's suggested (namely, going into each zone and asking zone staff), the member list at the SSC Forum would give you a good idea. Almost all active !@#$%^&*led sysops of SSC network zones are registered there. For the Server Help forum, Mine GO BOOM (MGB) is the admin. For the SSC Forum, BlueGoku, Hoch, and I are the admins. And Dav has already answered your question for SSF. Updates to Continuum? Most likely not. Yes, plenty of development work of all sorts is going on. Accede, DCME, Discretion, Starlight, SubSpace II, TWCore, and many others as well, in addition to basic zone and website development. Even if we end up being stuck with Continuum, the game probably has at least a couple of years' life left to it. If we end up getting something new, it'd live even longer.
  2. You wouldn't even need Tor to cir!@#$%^&*vent that simple block, newb.
  3. Did he just admit to liking guys? Oh, wait, he didn't. My bad, read his post too quickly the first time.
  4. Agreed, Lynx.
  5. How is Sui a perv? He's male, and you're female. All his request illustrates is that he is a male with a normal libido. I don't follow?
  6. It was probably just an accidental misspelling.. I agree that if Obama is elected, but then proves to be unable to deliver on his promises to the satisfaction of the voting population, it might very well set the stage for a Republican President to be elected in 2012 (something which might very well prove to be disastrous if it happened). I think that given all the fervor Obama has stirred up, particularly among younger voters, there is going to be a fair amount of disappointment (if Obama gets elected) when he fails to achieve, or takes longer than expected to achieve, some of his promises. As you point out, correctly IMHO, if McCain were elected, it would be a lot easier for many people to say "I told you so" when any issues arise (whether said issues are really McCain's fault or not). Still, I think it would be premature at this point to assume that Obama would disappoint people to the extent that a Republican President would be elected in 2012. It would hence also be premature to assume that it would be better 'for the long run' if McCain were elected this year. We can't see the future, so IMHO it would be best to vote for the person who would be the better leader for the US over the next four years (said person being Obama, from my POV). Voting for the worse leader (namely McCain, from my POV) this year due to concerns about the 2012 election would seem to be unwarranted.
  7. That is probably true most of the time. However, my point still stands. HS is a more strategic zone than most other zones, such as EG, so HS players will focus more on tactics whereas other zones' players will tend to focus more on direct fighting skills. Therefore, HS players may very well be just as skilled as players from other zones, with the caveat that HS players would be more skilled with respect to tactics and other zones' players would be more skilled with respect to direct ('fair') fighting skills. The other thing to note is that HS' players tend to be significantly younger, overall, than other zones' players. This may also affect the skill level of HS' population.
  8. Solid advice Relos.
  9. HS' sysops do act like they are gods, and in fact, in HS they are, effectively, gods. Agreed, the staff are usually not out to 'get' anyone in particular, mostly because most staff couldn't care less about the average player.
  10. In a one-on-one setting against a reasonably skilled player with an expensive ship? Or while flying while surrounded by teammates? It's not hard to get kills with a stock ship. It's very difficult, on the other hand, to get kills independently against expensive ships when you are in a stock ship.
  11. Yeah, once upon a time I had an excellent view of 'both worlds' (the 'staff' world and the 'normal player' world) of HS. Agreed D1.
  12. It's his flexing, maybe.
  13. To put it simply,
  14. Agreed D1st0rt. You do need at least a decent ship unless it's right after a reset. Otherwise you're basically relying on luck and teammates' help to get kills.
  15. Nothing to do with who's a 'jack---' or who isn't a 'jack---'. I was merely pointing out the fact that you wouldn't be able to keep anyone out of your topic anyway. I agree with this. I won't call anyone out, but (at least a few) HS staff have been obsessed with their status as members of an 'elite' private club. There's nothing wrong, per se, with this at!@#$%^&*ude, but it does make it so players are not inclined to like, or genuinely respect, staff with this at!@#$%^&*ude.
  16. As much as I dislike saying this, I agree with D1st0rt. Only the HS staff can keep people out of a thread anyway.
  17. Meaningless since HS as a zone is not built around the idea of fighting in stock ships. Also, HS' player demographics are pretty different from the player demographics in many other zones, such as EG. These are obviously words coming from a complete noob. Why thank you.
  18. Whether an individual views a zone as skill oriented or not is largely up to that individual's opinion. There's certainly no objective way of determining whether HS is skill oriented or not, or whether EG is skill oriented or not. QUAX, of course, is free to play in whatever zone he wants to. There's no need to heckle him just because he may have grown tired of HS.
  19. Then why post?
  20. Hehe... I dunno, I liked that TT font.
  21. Quit whining about my font. SSForum.net staff please cleanse this thread of this off-topic whining as necessary.
  22. Yep, it sure did. We all knew this was coming sooner or later, though.
  23. Its cos they want their advert money. Forums get alot more hits than random links. Most likely.
  24. Is there any evidence of this !@#$%^&*ertion that Russia invaded Georgia because of the Kosovo issue?
  25. I could say: "Legally, in the American Revolution, the British were in the right and Washington & Co. were in the wrong." That doesn't make it relevant to this thread. Please stop trying to drag the Serbia/Kosovo issue into this thread.
