NOTE: This was meant to go after Polix's post, but Cerium beat me... :/ Just because the SysOps and Zone Owners (and various other people) have been invited to these forums, it doesn't mean we've got any more power over anything what-so-ever. All I see is that this is a good way to post discussion between peers, and nothing more. Zone Owners and SysOps will not benefit from this forum at all (in the sense that they will be able to vote for significant change), and it will not help spead the centralised power that the SSC currently have. However, if the forums turn into a more wide-spread SSCouncil, and creates a more pragmatic and democratic approach to dealing with things (Via. discussion, followed by polling for outcome) - then actions will be *slightly more outside of biller control. The biller, though, always seems to have true sovereignty over anything. Fortunately, Ghost Ship seems to hold a much better way of dealing with things, as he *is open to discussion, and even criticism. Initially, this is how things were planned. Rogue zone owners may have changed the opinions of the Council to whether operations should still be practiced like this, I don't know, however, I'm sure with some more planning (not over complication - before somebody accuses me of this) - this can all be easily rectified. It will be interesting to see how things pan out though, this can either reinforce opinions that many people hold of the SSC, or help SSC greatly. I know that I am hoping for the latter. -Lynx EDIT: @Cerium: Aceflyer has caused other people frustration by making it seem like he's bragging about what he's doing. This is generally a misunderstood thing about him, although I agree with your points that the posts he's made are very condescending to people who aren't within the class he's defined. Complaining about this though, will just make you both look like !@#$%^&*holes. :/ -Lynx

While in the tray, I recycled the arena which caused Starlight to crash. Had to kill the process to end it. Nothing shown in error log, couldn't run a debug session. Tried forcing another crash with /*kill - probably because I was loading a map update in the recycle. -Lynx

The private SysOp forums (although I am not sure if they serve any purpose being private) - are proving to be very useful. I however, understand that the reasons that they aren't on SSForum.net it's self are merely political, if they were to release the forums on SSForum.net - it would have caused unnecessary conflict. An unfortunate series of events. :/ -Lynx

That's a pretty good point Hakaku, however, if somebody clicks on the SSCouncil forum, they're going to get one post of private forum. From what I've heard, the reasons that SSCouncil Forum isn't on SSForum.net, is simply political. -Lynx

Intriguing. This is the same person who told me "I want in" on the SSCouncil.com forum. Don't get me wrong here, the forums are good. However, I still think it would be much more efficient within SSForum.net - as a local point for all forums. I still do think though, that the forum serves no importance, however, it is proving to be a good place for discussion. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out. -Lynx

It just seems that things are being irrelevantly changed, and it's becoming a real pain in the !@#$%^&*. It's not like these forums need strict moderation, and it's not like there's not enough General Moderators to moderate the General forums. :/ -Lynx

These are the rules. It doesn't say we can't swear, Aceflyer seems to think that pointing an offensive word at somebody is swearing. Please tell him he's a newb. (That's also not a flame, just for clarification) This complete forum isn't hyperspace, can somebody please tell Aceflyer that editing every post with a slight flame is re!@#$%^&*ed, as they then come across completely different and uncomprehending once edited. If he wants to make SSForum great for kiddies (Kids shouldn't be allowed on Internet forums anyway) - then at least tell him to hide the flame, not completely delete it. Also, on another note. Why do Wiki Moderators moderate the General Forums, isn't that the job of the General Moderators? Thanks in advance, -Lynx

All that aside, and the fact that he simply can't release the source, because he's not allowed to. A lot of it was written for a business, so he doesn't own the licences to the source code, and I'm sure that his job means a lot more to him than some annoyed people on a 2D spaceship game. The information to byp!@#$%^&* all of the security checks is out there, it's all been released. All you need to do is test it and find out how to byp!@#$%^&* it yourself. -Lynx
